This grand Victorian villa is an outstanding 5-star guesthouse offering lovely rooms with private bathrooms. With Victorian fireplaces, rooms are all individually decorated. All have private bathrooms with showers, TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout Newstead. The Newstead Lake District Guest House was built in 1897 from traditional Lakeland stone. It retains many original features including a Victorian rose terrace, marble fireplaces and mahogany woodwork. A traditional breakfast is served in the dining room with its stunning Flemish brass chandeliers and antique barley twist tables. Vegetarians can also be catered for. Guests can use a private leisure club, a 5-minute drive away, for a small charge. Amongst its many features are a heated pool, gym, and indoor and outdoor jet spas. The Newstead Guest House is just a 15-minute walk from Lake Windermere. Bowness is also close by and both have a wide range of stores, bars and restaurants. lovely homely place made you feel like you were definately in the countryside, very authentic.Bedroom with 4 poster bed was a nice novelty. Breakfast was excellent shower was a little tempermental, no lift but only two floors, maybe could have done with a bar area, but I would recommend this hotel

Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Friendly owners and staff. The four poster bed was amazing! Choice of drinks (tea, coffee, hot chocolate) on a tray in our room. It is a warm and cosy hotel with plenty of character. It's also good value for money... The cheapest 5* hotel I could find. Would definitely stay here again!

what a lovely place to stay its just outstanding no need to say anymore. The signage outside a little hard to see with the drive in the dark its missed easy, otherwise outstanding surrounds.

We were made to feel welcome by the owners. The room, furniture and fittings were of a high standard. My wife particularly liked the decor, china, etc. of the dining room.
