From the outside the cottage looks like a prim spinster but inside it is the exact opposite!! It has the most wonderful bedroom we have ever seen. There is a Wow factor of 100 when entering this room and the bed is so comfy we found it hard to get up most mornings. Breakfast on the balcony watching the swallows swoop around us gave us a lovely start to the day, and a gin and tonic in the evening watching the sun set was another great pleasure. The stove in the kitchen was so sparklng I was afraid to use it at first but I conquered this fear and cooked a pizza!! Would love to visit again. A short break was not long enought to explore the fabulous countryside.

    leaving!

Comfortable bed, everything you need in self catering accommodation, very relaxing atmosphere, one of the best we've stayed in.

A little maintenance required but the building is 400 years old. No history of the farm and buildings, a building of this age must have some stories to tell.

Location in Bell Busk was lovely. No fault there. Good drive up. Place was clean, hugh bedroom, cobwebs high up but we were in the countryside and that was to be expected. Nice touch with lots of candles around the room.

Did not see the management once. Felt like intruders, no one came to the door or to check that we were ok, we just walked straight in and i left money on kitchen table before we went. It was only an overnight stay Spa bath was in bedroom and you needed to sit on the plug as the water kept draining away. TV ariel not working. Shower tray was blocked and shower was warm but not hot. There were some young lads in the barn at night with a fire going making lots of noise but did not hear in the room. Would have been nice to have been left a small bottle of milk in fridge. Room was so high in the dark just seemed a bit spooky and it was not easy to find lights in the dark. When I put Postcode in TomTom was difficult to find in the village not well sign posted.

Great location with nearby walks & villages easily accessed. Gorgeous 4 poster bed.

Shower too hot & couldn't be adjusted. Bath tap too cold (and couldn't be made hotter). All these things were got around but would be great if it was fixed.

It was a beautiful old hall in a perfect setting. The family who ran it were really friendly and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The room and food were excellent. Loved the four poster bed.

Newton Hall is a family run hotel. They are very friendly and welcoming, with fresh flowers, cakes and biscuits in the room. They try their best to ensure that your stay with them meets all your requirements and make you feel like friends of the family.

I can not think of anything I didn't like.

We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and the cakes in our room tasted great. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Myself and my wife wanted a relaxing weeknd and that is exactly what we had. Deb and Nick were excellent hosts and we will be recommending Newton Hall to family and friends as well as returning ourselves.
