I liked the standard, the staff was nice, the room was clean, very nice bathroom. There is a kettle in the room, so you can make yourself a tea, which is nice. Breakfasts are OK, either cereals, fruit or full English breakfast. The hotel is located in the centre of Glasgow
The hotel is located next to the bar, and unfortunately what I experienced were shouting and crying guys (it was Monday, and they kept yelling till 2 a.m.). So be aware if you're going to Glasgow for business- I did, so these noises really did not help me to relax and regenerate before the next day.
Nothing to complain about. Maybe a shelf in the bathroom
Staff were very friendly and competent. Breakfast was very nice and freshly cooked.m
Bed was a little lumpy and I was disappointed to find the spare pillows did not have pillow cases on so didn't use them.
The staff were lovely, and the hotel itself very clean, i like how quirky the layout is.
The beds were a bit hard for our liking, but otherwise all was good
Good price and excellent location. Surprisingly comfortable and really quite clean. Staff were helpful and the hotel offers great value for money. It is what it is and I'll probably use the hotel again.
Although this is a basic hotel, the room was clean and comfortable and warm, even though it was exremely cold outside. We had to turn the heating down! Very adequate for a 2 night stay. The shower was top of the range with nozzles everywhere and excellent, but maybe a bit over the top for a budget hotel, but not to be knocked.Would stay there again. All staff very pleasant.Graham & Dorothy.Aberdeen
Our only complaint is that our cooked breakfast's were served at the same time as we were having cereal and was cold by the time we got to them, which in turn resulted in hard cold sausages/cold soggy mushrooms etc. Also they may need to invest in a new toaster as the bread was toasted partly on one side.Only had cereal the second day. There was a good selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurt.
The noise of what seemed like a party all night long shower was broken which they new and didn't tell us just put us in that room the drainage was even worse which they new for 2 weeks and still put us in that room so that was enough to put me off not going to that hotel again no matter how cheap it is says luxury and I would say no chance of that being true
The hotel was clean and modern looking inside. Location was good just off a busy road and not far to the shops.
Radiators didn't work, in December, I stopped in room 7 downstairs. Was provided with two heaters one being a noisey fan type. The shower looked all fancy but the glass door leaked and led to a lake in the bathroom. 3 car parking spots in a dirty back alley. Room was small but for the money cannot complain. Would stop again though.
Hotel lobby and room was very clean and tidy. Room was okay, loved the shower more!!!
The minute I entered the hotel and received my key, I was told by the owner that if I set the fire alarm off, they would charge me £200. Is that my issue? No. He mentioned that the shower produces a lot of steam and the ventilation wasn't so good so I had to shut the toilet door immediately after leaving the bathroom. Poor equipment may result in a £200 fine from the fire department but I would never pay for it!! It's the fault of the hotel owner. Also, the room was freezing!! The dials on the radiators were taken off so we couldn't use the heaters and the cover on the bed was so thin that we had hardly any sleep and turned into icicles in the morning! Didn't enjoy the stay. Felt that we could have got better somewhere else!! Won't be back.
Brilliant hotel absolute gorgeous hotel and room was huge staff were all lovely and friendly will def be back
Really enjoyed our stay at Newton hotel. We will be back. Location fab!!!
Great location. 5 mins walk to the city centre. Decent breakfast. Not bad value.
Bathroom was a bit small.
Comfortable small hotel with friendly staff.
Location was okay and staff were pleasant
dirty shabby room constant noise from leaking radiator Poor quality furniture Super thin duvet Room location, noisy shower enclosure, small Poor quality finish to fittings View of dumping ground
The location was great, and the stay was perfect for what I was after.
The room was warm and clean and although quite small it was perfectly adequate for the 1 night. Lot's of choice at breakfast, including fruit, cereals and toast, the cooked breakfast in my opinion wasn't great quality but my husband ate it anyway! Our room was at the back and downstairs so it was quiet.
As mentioned the cooked breakfast wasn't the best. The sausage looked reheated, hard and cheap, the bacon was Turkey rashers too. But plenty of cereals and toast to fill up on instead.
Though the overall impression of the hotel is a bit cheapish, our room was a really nice surprise. Spacey, comfy, up to standards. The staff were incredibly helpful with everything. Great people. Thank you!
May not be suitable for people who expect high levels of comfort. Our room was in the basement.
Great breakfast, great location
New iron board and iron required.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast lovely clean room and comfy bed
Short walk from town centre with plenty pubs and restaurants within 5min walk. Excellent location ! Staff very friendly and helpful..comfortable and clean. Would definitely return, good value for money.
breakfast , easy check in and check out !
entry key card to room had to be attempted 3 times before light would stay green but not a big problem !
good central location to bars and restaurants
They seem to have spent a lot of money on a fancy shower but forgotten the little (but very handy) things like a shelf in the bathroom to sit your toothbrush etc on. Dining room a bit of a squeeze and too many unnecessary dishes on table. Would be better if they just kept the table settings to a minimum but put condements and butter on the tables so that you did not have to keep getting up to get them all the time.
Nothing not to like
The bed was comfy
We had to change room because the first room (room 5) was very unclean, smelly and too close to the reception which was noisy. Once we changed room is was a bit better but the hotel itself does not look anything like the photos on the webpage. The bathrooms need new tiles and a really good clean
Shower cubicle is too small for a large shower, and the doors don't shut properly. Wi-Fi did not work.
