My room was well appointed for rest and working desk area.It is particularly important for me when staying away from home to have a comfortable mattress. For this reason alone I will stay at the Aston again on my future trips. The previous night I stayed in a well known group hotel of similar stars and the matress was like a rock and I had a disturbed night. As a world wide traveller,I was impressed with the Aston in view of the price.

I have chosen the Aston, Newton Aycliffe on several occasions. I have always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful and the rooms are of a good standard. When I return to the north to visit family I will not hesitate to make a booking again.

Excellent quality of room, spacious attractive decor, hairdryer in room; free wi fi, spacious power shower with seat. Competitive price. As a women travelling alone I would prefer that interconnecting door to another room has some sort of visible lock so I was sure it was locked. In addition I would find it useful to have a stand to put my suitcase on.

The comfort of the huge bed and the wonderful power shower as well as the free Wifi. The breakfast is great too :) I stayed at the Aston in November this year as part of a large birthday celebration, and enjoyed it so much some of us returned to celebrate the new year. The Aston's biggest asset must be it's staff. They are so friendly and helpful. Nothing.

We use the Aston to meet up with family in the area once or twice a year. Staff have always been great, food and drink is reasonably priced with a good atmosphere. The location is great for the a1 breaking our journey from the south up to Scotland. The Aston previously catered for smokers but no longer does, may look elsewhere in future or give up smoking again.

Felt welcomed by the staff when I arrived fairly late for my stay. The shower was superb. Very good breakfast. struggled to get my Laptop plugged into the power sockets as they had been mounted too close to the desktop.

The hotel is modern, clean and the staff are very welcoming and professional. My room faced towards the car park on the back of the hotel away from the a1 on the second floor, which was really quiet (226). The lift is a little slow but certainly helps with cases etc. There is a good selection of food from the restaurant, lighter snacks & sandwiches should you not require a full meal in the evening. The breakfasts had a very good selection and there were plenty of waiting staff to take your orders for tea / coffee and toast. Overall I had a really good staff, I would recommend the hotel & would definitely stay there again. There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel. If they were considering development a beauty salon, spa & pool would be the icing on the cake.
