Supplied rubber bath mat in the bathroom, and plenty of towels. Tea and coffee facilities in room. Wi-Fi in our room was good and free. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Bath enamel was chipped. Toilet didn't really flush well.
That the Hotel itself has a lot of History on it... the decoration was awesome, and there was even a ghost! (apparently is haunted :P)
There is almost nothing to do there...
Comfy bed, good location and pleasant gardens.
Room decor in need of upgrading, our room looked a bit tired. The restaurant was ok but the waiting staff abilities were a bit hit and miss. Bar prices extortionate.
The Shower was located not much higher than the bath taps, if you lifted it higher you lost what little pressure there was. There was no mini bar in the room. The pillows were very hard. The room was too warm and no ac. The front door was locked after we returned from a meal out and there was no one manning it.
Good view from the quiet room - both of which I had requested when booking. Good free car parking & good breakfast.
I found it annoying trawling through the website options re: rooms & breakfast. In particular to make sure it was a double room for TWO with breakfast. But that may be booking.com rather than this hotel.
Quiet comfortable room Helpful staff Good breakfast Help to find suitable table for wheelchair Good location
No disabled room with double bed. Had booked one but it turned out to be twin beds. Did mention this and staff responded very positively. We were given a spacious room and were able to get the wheelchair into the bathroom. With the help of our own shower board I was able to use the overhead shower in bath. During discussion at end of visit staff member was very helpful and said she would be highlighting the problem. Despite this we would recommend this hotel and stay there again.
Great staff on the whole Beautiful grounds and hotel itself is lovely - probably more a wedding venue than a business hotel but enjoyed the stay on the whole.
Struggled a bit with gluten free food - felt like it was a bit like it was my fault for being a coeliac.... Room was very small and could do with modernisation Loud party in one of the conference rooms downstairs til late - difficult to sleep
Badly needs updating
Free WiFi Staff Large car park Location
Dated Room and Corridor Noise in the dining room from the wedding DJ setting up, we chose to eat else where.
lovely place , lovely location. big room as i have booked the premium one.
- showers was broken the switch was falling off. - light switch comes off - bed isn't stable, it moves off the wall
The room and bathroom size was great.
Noisy maid service outside are room.
Pay to View tv. It was not possible to watch ordinary tv channels you paid for everything, great if you are a sex fiend or pervert.
The bedrooms were large and comfortable.
The breakfast was terrible. There was a very poor choice of breads and cereals and I asked for scrambled eggs which were inedible. The breakfast staff were uncommunicative and couldn't care less. This was very disappointing as we had a very long drive home after being at a family funeral the previous day.
Location, very relaxing , good breakfast
food terrible beds and bathroom not good will never go back
When entering the restaurant even though there were only roughly 14 people dining we were asked to come back later as they were busy, this was soon changed by someone in charge. When I ordered my starter of chicken satay, they didn't have any chicken, my husband ordered the mussels and they came out stone cold, food poisoning on a plate. We had both ordered the haddock for our main, we were then told they only had one left so my husband ordered something else. When the mains arrived, my husbands dinner was luke warm and the sauce poured all over it was stone cold again. My homemade chips were very very dark on the outside and uncooked in the middle. With this, we then at 21.45 had to go out and try and find somewhere else to eat as the three chefs on that night clearly didn't have a clue what they were doing. I'm no chef but I do know that food stays hotter a lot longer when served on hot plates, something their chefs should learn to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Staff all good except for person who would not allow us to join the remainder of the family group for breakfast - she originally said there were no seats free, then when we insisted on going into the room to say good morning and found places on the table with bride and groom, we were told they would no longer serve us food in that room as it was needed for another wedding. No-one in that room, in particular the staff waiting on, could understand what she was trying to achieve and the waitress served us hot breakfast regardless. Our daughter and her partner however were not allowed into the room and went without breakfast.
Good staff and the restaurant served great food
Rooms are dated, not great for working in
Decor needs upgrading, not a 4. Decor poor in bedrooms! no complimentary water as in other 4 star hotels, poor pm meals, not a great choice fruit or yogurts at b fast
Wifi was very poor and the gym small. For that price you would expect something better. I would have booked somewhere else had I known it.
The room was a good size with a king size bed.
noisy extractor from the kitchen outside our room (117) and lots of banging doors again coming from kitchen below us.
A nice one night break for our 28th wedding anniversay.Nice friendly staff who were happy to help.
Hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment, very old fashioned. No option for double bed with shower, either single bed and shower or double bed with bath, this was not highlighted at time of booking.
Food presentation eg 'Signature dish' of French onion soup was lack lustre for its description!
great atmosphere especially the waiter at the evening meal who was knowledgeable and friendly Excellant evening meal generous portions. We will stay again
Scrambled eggs in the morning were over done (our test of a good breakfast)
