very central. staff very pleasant and helpful. Room very cold on arrival. No heating on and it took a long while to warm the room using the electric heater. No (attached) towel rail in the bathroom and no heating. |

The staff were helpful. The rooms were a good size. The hotel is tired. Our bathroom had not been cleaned well and there was glass on the floor! We faced the front and Fri/Sat night was extremely noisy(from the bar beneath) until very late. Very pricey for an elevated B&B |

Our room was spacious with an additional room to use. The selection at breakfast was excellent and the majority of staff professional and friendly. On the Sunday the usual member of staff did not turn up and the female who was in charge of the breakfasts was very stressed and abrupt with my husband and myself. |

Room was clean and comfortable. We had requested a specific room through the website, but that information had not been passed on to the hotel itself, and that room was unavailable when we checked in (despite us booking well in advance to make sure we got our choice) |

Friendly staff and an informal atmosphere. It provided a good base to use during the day. It was a surprise to find that the big, lovely top floor room had no shower. We changed to a room with a shower but the bathrooms need modernising. |

Quiet, provided what I needed. Comfortable room, dinner very good. A warmer reception on arrival would have been good, staff otherwise very helpful and friendly. Shower (in top floor room) was very slow. Otherwise nothing negative to say |

Interesting historic building in an impressive setting. The character of the place changed somewhat after 11pm on a Saturday night when it appeared to become very popular as a late night drinking venue. Some noise from smokers outside the front door after this time. Bar service could do with some tightening up. |

The breakfast was lovely, and the staff were very approachable and helpful. The travel cot that was provided was broken, there were large damp patches in the bedroom and it was a cold room. |

A lovely old building, full of character. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. Being kept awake until the early hours by a family party in the hotel. |

Convienience of location, parking although very tight Decor and general mantainance of bedroom areas poor. Front of house modernised and very much of today. Stairway with dead plants, lighting not working on narrow staircase, table not laid for breakfast, and delightful bedroom and bathroom but without a shower. Must be unique in todays hotel world! |
