Score from 996 reviews Very good
Just off junction 44 of the M6 motorway, only 2 miles (3.2 km) from Carlisle's city centre and within easy reach of the Lake District, the hotel offers comfortable, great-value rooms and free parking....
Score from 355 reviews Good
Located in the centre of Carlisle, the Crown and Mitre has been refurbished to retain its Edwardian traits. It has free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, a bar and an indoor swimming-pool.
Score from 473 reviews Good
Location is ideal for the motorway. Facilities were adequate and comfortable.Staff were pleasant and helpful and breakfast was excellent. Good value and would stay there again.
Almost everything. Laundry facilities, big, MAN sized baths, hot water (very hot!) nice rooms
Take ear plugs if you like to sleep with the window open for fresh air. That's my only comment
That it was close to the motorway and although not truck drivers we were made to feel very welcome
The rooms were very basic for the money paid
The breakfast was abundance and very cheap.
Close to the motorway, good price for room and food This is as the name says a truck stop, but suitable for all. Plenty of other outlets around the area.
the bed was so comfy, service from staff brilliant nothing too much trouble, location very good for buses into town, food was excellent ,our room was very clean overall an enjoyable experience
Staff were extremely helpful and Friendly and informed us where to park our motorbikes safely within the Truckstop area. We were able to upgrade our room on arrival. Fantastic shower in bathroom. Able to choose anything from the breakfast menu at a very responable price.
large room with tv and dvd player. en suite bathroom and large comfy bed. the location is cheap and quiet we had a good nights sleep.
did find hairs in the bath and the room would have benefited from black out curtains
Our dogs were given a warm welcome by all the staff. We were made welcome as well! Although the staff were very busy, every one we encountered made time to have a quick word and offer any assistance we could have wished for.It became immediately apparent that all Stobart employees are happy in their workplace and take pride in what they do.So the building is a bit dated but the immaculate towels and bed linen show that even on a tight budget the management don't compromise on doing their best for their guests.
Helpful pleasant staff. Canteen style cafe on site. Helpful Good value.
Very dated bathroom.difficult shower very old. Cracked tiles. Side lights with no near plug to use them Was given a lead extension but not too safe.
Excellent staff nothing too much trouble for them Excellent greeting each time I have arrived It is good value. I will use again
Room was basic but clean, furniture could do with a little update
Price Location just off motorway Excellent breakfast
Easy to find,very helpful staff.
room basic put clean comfortable beds, towels changed daily.plenty hot water
very noisy during night.people coming and going. slamming doors
Lots of parking space, well priced cafeteria, good little convenience store, close to major food chains, descent size room, functional bathroom, clean and comfortable bed. Great value for money. It provided everything we needed for a 1 night sstopover.
Couldn't complain about anything for the price.
The Staff were very friendly and explained all the times. They even opened the bar for me and my friends and came to serve us whenever we needed them. Nothing was a trouble. The single room i had was decent , with my own sink , tv with freeview , kettle and coffee! loads of draws and a cupboard for storage and the shower was perfect nice and hot all the time. Rooms really warm aswell , without the heating on.
I didnt like that my booking was not on the system , maybe just a technical fault , lucky for us that weekend was not fully booked. small problem but dealt with quickly.
Everything here you might need. bed, food, bar, shop. Wouldn't have stayed here normally but needed 2 rooms urgently and the usual places wanted £89 per room. Stayed here for £84 for 2 rooms inc 3 breakfasts!
You need to remember it's a Truck stop, not the Ritz. Looks a little like a prison, rooms are down market, but beds clean. Price is reasonable but if you can get a Lodge/Inn around the same price go there instead.
Price and the Breakfast
shabby rooms that needed a major update
It was very handy for the motorway. Supermarket close by. Beds were comfy and bedding clean and fresh. When we complained about our leaking toilet we were moved promptly. Staff were alright after some time but need more training in customer relations
The picture on the web site made it look like a single story motel. As my husband is in a cast and on crutches (can nt weight bear on other leg) we though perfect single storey but when we arrive it's a 3 storey prison building. It was grim grim grim inside. When we were moved downstairs we had a"family" room which was much better but lamps (matching) but with no sockets to plug them in to. Breakfast which we paid for upfront was a little disapointing....when I wanted to have no beans ,black pudding and fried bread the cook/waitress said "I've worked 9 weekends in a row and I get all the shit orders"...nice We were told by other staff that "Eddie" had taken over 2 years ago but nothing had changed...only fewer staff and longer hours.....none of them seemed very happy in their jobs and it showed.
If your'e looking for luxury, you're looking in the wrong place, however if all you need is a good nights sleep in a spotlessly clean room, then this is the place for you.
Restaurant , Bar, and wifi was not available because"no one stays here on Saturday night". Tiny TV and very poor decor. Truckers deserve better than this. I couldn't stay and moved on.
It was amazingly clean, the staff were "couldn't do enough" helpful.
Showers didn't work, general cleanliness was awful, room was infested with spiders, overpriced and uncomfortable
Really convenient and bargain stop off if you are heading north.
Lady staff member very helpful when I called in at midnight.
Icould not find it! Nowhere does it say that it is " NT Services" on the website, and nowhere outside does it say it is Stobart!! I ended up at the Stobart distribution depot half a mile away. £29 is too high a price for this place which is a 1970s gerry-built relic. If they totally rebuild it it might be ok.
