The staff were eager to try and resolve our problems with the tv and lack of bedding for my childrens bed This was not as advertised, it is a truck stop not a hotel suitable for families, the family room we were given was in fact two seperate rooms linked by a communal passage way with a seperate external door, the bathroom was also off this passage and contained a toilet and a bath, the sinks were in the bedrooms. The bedroom my children slept in was extremely small and contained a small sofa bed which filled the room when extended, although it did not extend properly, and a desk with a tv. The appearance of the rooms, although clean was that of a very old school or hospital. My children were very unsure about sleeping here as you can hear doors banging etc throughout the night. |

it was an awful experience the rooms are like prison cells concrete ceilings and painted brick work for gods sake!!! but the worst is the central heating the noise of the constant bangs and clangs keeps you awake all night. a nightmare of a stay.my work colleague and i payed £20 each and if we had payed an extra £10 each we could have stayed in total luxury comared to that place at the premier inn across the road!!! |

good for an economical overnight stop; bed was more comfortable than one the night before in a much more expensive hotel. For elderly people with inefficieent legs the stairs to the second floor were not popular but that is our problem. |

Sheets were clean and there was plenty of hot water. Everything echoes- very noisy. Primitive facilities, with damp marks and mould in the bathroom. Towels smelt odd. |

The hotel was very conveniently located near the M6 and was easy to find. It's only down the road to Premier Inn. Ample parking space. Once you know that you need to book inside the NT garage shop, everything else was like any other hotel accomodation. The room was simple but clean, the beds were comfortable and the members of staff were friendly. Convenient, cheap, no fuss accomodation. And the breakfast is great value for money at £4.50, There were some truck drivers staying in of course, but very noticeably there were a higher number of personal cars in the car park. Would definitely recommend if all you need is somewhere to crash for the night. |

This is a very functional experience. It is a truckers stop really, but they made myself and my wife very comfortable - and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It was good value, and a place to sleep. The best thing was that it was open 24hrs a day, so you could arrive any time at night (we arrived at 2am). The bedroom was clean, the bed was very comfortable but the bathroom had a distinct smell of urine, it smelt like a gents loo. There was also a bit of white staining around the base of the toilet where people have peed on the floor. It was quite off putting, and i could almost smell this from my bed. |

Our room (Twin beds with shared bathroom) and bathroom were fantastically clean, very simple amenities however the digital TV was a pleasant bonus. The sat nav didn't locate the motel's exact point, so make sure you take note of the directions on the website. |

Basic, with no pretentions to luxury, but satisfactory for a one-night stopover. Well located close to M6 and the Scottish border. |

The rooms are clean and basic but everything that you would need for a night stay is provided. Some of the reviews are complaining that the rooms were too basic or did not have modern decor. For a night stay the rooms are perfectly adequate and I was surprised that a TV with freeview was provided as well as a kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits as well as the usual soap, shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. The decor may not be cutting edge but it is not dated or worn and was fresh enough. There were no metal detectors in the reception/shop area but the kind of alarms you find in a shop to prevent shop lifting, if they were metal detectors I think every single guest would set them off. As mentioned previously the hot and cold water was marked wrong on the shower though this is a minor issue. |

Attention to our complaints raised when we arrivedThe bed we eventually slept in was good and the room was free of smoke odours Next to a truck-stop which worked all night. We requested a non smoking room and got a smokers room.(changed at our request) The tv did'nt work so we changed rooms again. The bathroom was not very clean in this room mould showed at sealant places. |

Convenient location. Front desk (in petrol station) staffed 24 hours a day. Suited a late arrival. Parking available. Shower's hot & cold controls wrongly labelled (in both rooms). Gave the impression that no hot water was available. |

Bed was comfortable and the linen was clean, the staff were helpful, efficent and friendly. The building itself was more prison like than a motel and certain areas would benefit from an upgrade. |

An independent, family-run hotel in an extended Victorian home, with many impressive original features. Close to Carlisle city centre and the M6 motorway. |
