It is close to the motorway, and a business park. Clean and basic, ideal for truckers.

Friendly budget motel that let you take dogs. A good condition clean travel cot with sheet and blankets were provided. Towels and toiletries too. Overall basic rooms that would benefit from a lick of paint but the staff are good at keeping them clean which to me is more important. It did smell of smoke in stairwell which wasn't pleasant tho but for the price can't really grumble.

Smell of smoke in stairwell. The fact that the vegetarian breakfast is basically the same as normal one but without meat but same price- could do with having veggie sausages or reducing price.

Really can't think of anything that I really liked. Maybe the location, as we were travelling by car and it was the cheapest night break we could get in the halfway.

Staff member in charge was unfriendly not aware of our online reservation, and unwilling to help, speaking fast in a very scottish accent and little pacience. We were really tired from the trip, but with some effort managed to convince her to reach someone who knew what the internet was. That person, in turn, was nice and helpful. The room was as cheap and depressive as it costs. Hot water in the 2 tap sink is really boiling - got my hand really scalded from it. They have a convenient 24hs store in the reception with truck itens, food and drink. The light switch is a cord hanging from the ceiling. Had to use my cellphone screen as a torch to find it (and figure it out). At least the bathroom is not a hole in the ground. As the name says, a truck stop. If you have a couple extra bucks to spare, avoid it.

Room not available until 4 hours after stated time. No plug sockets for bedside lamps. Insufficient plug sockets generally. Bed covering less than adequate. Cleanliness poor. General unpleasant smell around the building, strong smell of cigarettes. Booking incorrect on arrival. Would never stay here again.

sadly we got the news that my father in law was in hospital and has been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, as we live quite near london, it is a 5-6 hour journey in the car. we have been driving there and back on the same day every weekend for the last month but my son who has a haulage company said that he had heard that nt services was very good value and only just off the motorway. We decided to give it a try, and when we first saw it wondered if we had done the right thing! but i'm pleased to say that it was exactly what we needed. It was an excellent base for what we needed, close enough to dumfries hospital for visiting and also close enough to Annan where we were trying to secure a place for him in a home We had a call from the police on thursday to say that he had gone missing,so travelled on friday instead of saturday,hence the booking. The room was spotless,there were tea and coffee facilities and lots of hot water for a nice hot bath,we couldn't work the t.v. but didn't mind because we were too tired and just went to bed. And that bed........I would like to hve taken that home with me,that was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. we then noticed that you can take pets there by arrangement which is even better because the reason we have been travelling in one day is because we have no one to leave our dogs with. thank you so much for making this terrible situation a little easier, we will be back xx

the only thing wrong was that we couldnt get the t.v. to work, i;m sure that would have been sorted out if we had reported it to the staff, but it didn't really matter because we were too tired anyway.

The nostalgia, of walking back into the 80's - very quirky. The breakfast. The cook has been there 22 years and perfected the truckers breakfast - HUGE.

We stayed at the Nightowl as we needed a stopoff before travelling up to Scotland. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and although the facilities are basic - it was comfortable, convenient for the motorway and offered everthing you needed for a brief stopover at a cheap price.

Nothing!

It smells like a hospital. The whole building seems like a factory instead of a hotel. In fact, it should be a motel. Very hard to find it's location eventhought we use gps. There is no proper shop sign or sign board that indicate the 'hotel' name. The 'hotel' is located at a industrial area, along the way to the 'hotel' make you feel unsafe and uncomfortable to stay. It is not cheap either. Highly not recommmend this 'hotel'. This is the worst one I ever been. Booking.com should clarify and make clear indication that this is not a hotel but motel. But it charges almost the same rate as hotels do.

Hotel was clean but very basic. Staff were helpful and friendly once we managed to find them. Would say on the whole value for money.

Shower didn't work. No mention in the write up that there was no lift.

Very cheap. Kids were a bit squashed in one room. But staff friendly and helpful. Good for the price.

Full length mirror would have been handy as we were going to a wedding and couldnt see what we looked like! Shower was difficult to turn off and the cold tap was coming out hot which was weird.

Its just a nice place to stay simple basic good value for money and no hotel type intrusion,if you are tired and need a good nights sleep you get the peace to do it because its not noisy its home from home the area is tranquill and although you can use the bar provided there is also a nice pub just down the road I have been using it over the years and I have always enjoyed my stay, my last visit I brought three friends with me en-route home and they all thought the same John

the location as it was close to Gretna - food was good and the staff were helpful - the cost of the motel was excellent (do you have any other motels?

the beds were a little soft and I would also like to mention that I slipped in the shower, bruising my leg, while using the mat - perhaps this needs addressing for the future.
