I was shocked when we first pulled up as we did not realise it was a truck stop where we wer staying; but my husband is a trucker and he recognised it. We were on a trip to Scotland with my in-laws who are in their 80's ; but we had a lovely meal , a good nights slep and a good breakfast and what was initially a bit of a shock turned out to be great in the end.

Friendly budget motel that let you take dogs. A good condition clean travel cot with sheet and blankets were provided. Towels and toiletries too. Overall basic rooms that would benefit from a lick of paint but the staff are good at keeping them clean which to me is more important. It did smell of smoke in stairwell which wasn't pleasant tho but for the price can't really grumble. Smell of smoke in stairwell. The fact that the vegetarian breakfast is basically the same as normal one but without meat but same price- could do with having veggie sausages or reducing price.

Convenient, inexpensive. I could not find it! I was looking for Nightowl Hotel or Nightowl Motel. In fact the place is called Nt Services or Carlisle Truckstop. I will know next time! But it would help if Booking.com named the place, the same as the signage used by the hotel, so in this case Nt Services. Hence my 'fair' score below.

Really can't think of anything that I really liked. Maybe the location, as we were travelling by car and it was the cheapest night break we could get in the halfway. Staff member in charge was unfriendly not aware of our online reservation, and unwilling to help, speaking fast in a very scottish accent and little pacience. We were really tired from the trip, but with some effort managed to convince her to reach someone who knew what the internet was. That person, in turn, was nice and helpful. The room was as cheap and depressive as it costs. Hot water in the 2 tap sink is really boiling - got my hand really scalded from it. They have a convenient 24hs store in the reception with truck itens, food and drink. The light switch is a cord hanging from the ceiling. Had to use my cellphone screen as a torch to find it (and figure it out). At least the bathroom is not a hole in the ground. As the name says, a truck stop. If you have a couple extra bucks to spare, avoid it.

We had a comfy stay, it was just a stop over for us on a long drive. We booked the family room and were very pleased with the 2 rooms we were given with a shared bathroom dividing them. Both rooms were clean and warm, the bathroom was tired but clean and plenty of warm water. We also took our dog and he was made to feel welcome too. They provided plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and all in all as a stop over we would recomend it and will use it again.. Finding the place was tricky even with sat nav as even once we had arrived it was so badly lit we couldnt see it!

It was next to the m6, the few staff there were very nice people and welcomed my dog. It's a truck stop, so a bit grubby.

Leaving in the morning. Room not available until 4 hours after stated time. No plug sockets for bedside lamps. Insufficient plug sockets generally. Bed covering less than adequate. Cleanliness poor. General unpleasant smell around the building, strong smell of cigarettes. Booking incorrect on arrival. Would never stay here again.

The location just suited us, we only booked because Premier Inn was fully booked The Nightowl was oK but the beds weren't that comfortable, (we had a twin room. Bathroom needs upgrading. Possibly this is a truckers motel. No mention of the fact that there is a 24hr fuel station within 15 metres. Lorries keep turning up at any minute. Not ideal if you want a good night's sleep!!

sadly we got the news that my father in law was in hospital and has been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, as we live quite near london, it is a 5-6 hour journey in the car. we have been driving there and back on the same day every weekend for the last month but my son who has a haulage company said that he had heard that nt services was very good value and only just off the motorway. We decided to give it a try, and when we first saw it wondered if we had done the right thing! but i'm pleased to say that it was exactly what we needed. It was an excellent base for what we needed, close enough to dumfries hospital for visiting and also close enough to Annan where we were trying to secure a place for him in a home We had a call from the police on thursday to say that he had gone missing,so travelled on friday instead of saturday, hence the booking. The room was spotless, there were tea and coffee facilities and lots of hot water for a nice hot bath,we couldn't work the t.v. but didn't mind because we were too tired and just went to bed. And that bed........I would like to hve taken that home with me,that was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. we then noticed that you can take pets there by arrangement which is even better because the reason we have been travelling in one day is because we have no one to leave our dogs with. thank you so much for making this terrible situation a little easier, we will be back xx the only thing wrong was that we couldnt get the t.v. to work, i;m sure that would have been sorted out if we had reported it to the staff, but it didn't really matter because we were too tired anyway.

Apart from the location nothing good to say. I felt the facility was rather tired and rundown and could do with a major refit. As convenient as it was I will not stay here again and will pay more to stay at another location in the area. Very disappointed.

Room rate was excellent. The room was outdated but still had all the basic facilities, maintained well and quite spacious. Family rooms have two separate doors with tv in each room and the kids can sleep on their own. Difficult to locate the hotel.

As a Motel/Truck Stop it was exactly as it should be. A comfortable, safe, room for the night, with no frills, conveniently located just off the motorway. The room decor is absolutely basic but more than adequate for an overnight stop on a long journey. The price was excellent - good value for money. Friendly staff were on hand to assist with any requests, such as placing us in neighbouring rooms to share communal facilities. We had to run the cold tap for 5mins+ to get it cold - the pipe must run along side the hot pipe. Inefficient, but I suppose it stops them freezing in the winter! This would not be the hotel to choose for a holiday stay, although it is close enough to be able to get into Carlisle easily.

It was clean, close enough to the motorway (this was our stop over before continuing the journey the next morning) and excellent value for the price. The name on the board was not very clear and it was lucky that the staff were outside and we were able to ask them.

The staff were pleasant and helpful. The tea making facility in the room was good. Towels etc., also good. The rooms look like dormitories. Not a pleasant ambience. Unfortunately, one of our friends was bitten by bed bugs and had to go to Morrisons to get some spray to fumigate the room. He was the main driver and, as a result was tired and grouchy the following morning.

We stayed at the Nightowl as we needed a stopoff before travelling up to Scotland. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and although the facilities are basic - it was comfortable, convenient for the motorway and offered everthing you needed for a brief stopover at a cheap price.
