Decor contemporary and stylish. Our room was too close to the very busy road so felt like I was sleeping in the middle of the a19. We had a four poster room and were unable to watch the tv in bed due to the tv being in a fixed position and the drapes etc getting in the way

The facilities in the room were great, especially free coffee/mini bar ; wifi for self and essential for older kids. York centre was a £5 taxi away (infirm mother) Flooring in the bathroom and paper bath mat are not great. small problem with breakfast arrangements while staff chatted loudly in kitchen.

Location was very good, 10 minutes walk into York. Room was not worth £140 for 1 nights stay, too small, shower poor. Also breakfast was over cooked.

I stayed here during a UK bank holiday and as a result £180 a night was a bit much. However the hotel was good and well run. It's about 25 mins walk from the railway station.

The bed was very comfortable, the coffee machine perfect and the mini bar a fabulous touch. The free parking also helped keep our overall costs down. I kept getting lost trying to find my room (but this also adds character to the place). The bed was a standard double but was a little on the short side for my 6ft 2in man. The room could easily take a king size bed. Parking at the hotel could be a squeeze but if you know you aren't going to use the car you can park it out of the way. The staff were really helpful with all car park issues.

The cleaning of the room leaves somewhat to be desired. There must have been at least 6 months worth of dust andn litter under the bed. The vacuum cleaner obviously never ventures under there.

Quiet location but close to York centre. Evening meal was delicious. Rooms really cold. Staff at breakfast could have been more attentive, forgot a couple of things we asked for. No hair dryer in room as stated

excellent, spacious and comfortable room with everything we needed, with a few free treats in the minibar!! spot on staff who answered all questions and concerns quickly, professionally and extremely helpful! highly recommended!!! Took a while to work out how to use the coffee machine and could do with more than 2 coffee sachets between use, but staff were happy to refill on request!

Room was small but is advertised as such so was surprised that it did indeed have a full double and full bathroom. Nicely equipped with tv and ipod dock. Dinner was good too particularly considering it was just £15 for 3 courses. Choice selection of wines at reasonable prices only added to my enjoyment. Staff are polite and friendly but a bit cold. A bit more Yorkshire warmth need next time plesse. The bathroom needs attention. Cracked floor tiles and poor quality grouting lets the room down. A new shower head wouldn't go a must too. Room 203

the complimentary mini bar the coffee machine and the comfy bed Old bathroom with ill fitting plug had to put some plastic under the plug to stop it leaking. Noisy fan, rather tired bedroom furniture, carpets needed cleaning at the edges. Very noisey from main road. Also had problems with drilling and sawing in room below us.

The hotel staff were great and very friendly and helpful, plus easy walking distance from the city. The room was not as clean as it should have been and the shower was very poor and for the price of this weekend break I expected more from this hotel.
