Score from 185 reviews Very good
the food was excellent, the staff first class, room very clean and tidy
people smoking in hotel doorways with the door open and the smoke blowing into the bar very bad for none smokers.
this hotel needs updating .I was not value for money.
The location was not as expected - a long way north, nearer Cleavley's. The hotel is run down and in need of attention. The room we had was as far away as it was possible to be - the outlook was dreadful. We overlooked some dirty abandoned containers and the windows were filthy. The room itself was 'tired' and in need of decoration. The towels provided were so thin you could see through them. The duvet did not cover the bed which was very hard. The lift to our floor broke down so we had to use the stairs which made it difficult when we were carrying a case. The hotel is very big and the dining area is very noisy. On the whole it was most disappointing and I would not recommend or return.
Room was like an oven and no fans available, had very little sleep
Great location and away from the busy centre, so I was able to relax with minimal noise
The whole experience makes you feel very special at an excellent price.
The hotel is going through an extensive upgrade so some parts feel a little dated.
Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.
no car park space. rooms were not near each other. both bedrooms were very basic and poor maintained, had light bulbs that needed replacing, bathroom light flickering. one bathroom had external clear glass not frosted glass, so could be overlooked from other windows. check in was a shambles, we were in a large queue when 2 out of the 4 staff manning the desk walked off, leaving the remaining 2 trying to cope.
The room stank of smoke it was dirty it was too warm no fan windows opened slightly but not to let an airy in.... The decor of the whole hotel was stuck in the 70s deffo won't be back again
the breakfast was very good , the rooms where clean and the staff were very helpful , great value for money
the heat in the room but it was sorted by helpful staff
Ques at Breakfast
On arrival the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable with an en-suite jacuzzi bath. The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels were put in. The breakfast was excellent with loads of choice.
Its 17 tram stops from central pier,so is a fair distance if your walking. Hotel is popular with the elderly who rise early and were very inconsiderate when it came to keeping the noise down. Was wakened at 7 am every morning with them shouting in the corridor.
Needs decorating ,new carpet and a full upgrade top bring it upto standard. The reception .foyer and car park are of a very low standard
The entertainment was good and we liked the swimming pool. Our room was plenty big enough and clean and we enjoyed the sea view.
Queuing for half an hour to check in and queuing for 20 minutes to eat breakfast however we understood as we came at a busy time when the fireworks and illuminations were on.
Location was good with good transport links. Price was good with meals included which were nice. Good breakfast and evening meal selection.
Wasn't very clean and rooms in desperate need of decorating and updating Entertainment could of been better. Furnishing were broken and falling apart. Wouldn't be returning again!!!
Comfy beds, rooms ok for the money.Great location.
Sorry to say the food was only just eatable, reminded me of school dinners, not in a good way!! After having tasted the dinner we passed on breakfast and went to a cafe, that was fabulous and cheap.
Smokers blocking the doors to outside thank you should have a area where they should go to
Staff were excellent. Always happy to help. Great price. Easy to get to. Breakfast had something for everyone.
Decor could do with upgrading in rooms and general hotel.
the room i had in main part was fine. the breakfast and evening meal was fine. the entertainment was ok
the room my friends occupied in windsor wing needed decorating and area outside window was disgusting with cigarette ends and a pair of underpants
Good accomadation lovely view. Loved enterainement in the evenings.
More lifts in such a large hotel. Staff with their materials should have lift of their own.
Bedroom was ok comfortable but dated
The dining facilities were not particularly good it was a bit like a cattle market going for breakfast no organisation
breakfast was ok.staff very obliging.
freezing rooms.lumpy beds.very old fashioned paint peeling off walls .entertainment poor.too busy long queus for breakfast .needs money spent on it
Loved the location of the hotel, with a tram stop right outside, and plenty parking off street. Large room overlooking the sea with a TV was all we needed, plus we enjoyed few cheap drinks in the hotel bar as the night time entertainment was free and fun.
Breakfast was terrible/scary, the WiFi only works in the lobby, and our room could have done with a spring clean. Better outside area's for smokers and improve steps/ramps at the main entrance; as we saw two separate instances were elderly people fell over. Bigger towels could add some luxury!
Clean sheets, towels, facilities
Cigarette ends at door ways
The cheapness of the hotel and the ability to cater for large numbers
The state of the rooms and the public areas. Very tired and run down! Thread bare carpets and having to enter hotel through the disgusting smoking areas
