My wife and I both enjoyed a relaxing time and using the pool and spa facilities. We used the Norbreck as a base so that we could go out during the day and spend a few nights in Blackpool town however we only went into Blackpool one evening as we enjoyed watching the entertainment provided at the hotel. We also liked having areas where we could sit with our laptop or read a book and feel chilled out.

Second time this year I have stayed at this Hotel love the pool, size of the hotel and the Character of the place, entertainment nightly a bonus. Clean large room comfy bed, copperface Jacks good place to watch footy on projector and relax. The harsh reviews are unfair given the price you pay and what you get for your money well worth it. Will stay again.. The Breakfast could be better altho buffet style very bland and coffee served out of flasks luke warm. Was aware of this before booking as stayed here before but not bad enough to put me off booking, nor will it stop me booking again.

We only went for an overnight stay. The room was basic but very clean and we found it very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.A Special bus had been organized if you wanted to see the Blackpool Illuminations ( this was at a reasonable price) For one night the hotel was fine but wouldn't stay for a week.Overall for what we payed it was a good deal. Would rate it 2-3star This hotel caters for a lot of coach parties. (Mainly elderly people therefore the entertainment catered for elderly people (Bingo and cabaret). We had our young grand daughter with us so there wasn't much to keep her amused. The hotel is quite a walk from the centre of Blackpool so best to take a tram. While we stayed at the hotel the lift in our wing was out of order so it was quite a hike up to our room on the 3rd floor. It was still out of order when we left.

The hotel is situated by the beautiful beach between Blackpool and Fleetwood. Quiet expencive and we had a very small room were we had to make sure only one person was moving round the room at any one time. We had asked for single beds but didn't get that. The double bed in the room was too big for the room. The hotel in itself is gigantic and this resulted in long queues (15 mins wait) of people waiting to be sited and served at breakfast

From walking in the door to be met by someone who did not make eye contact or speak politely to us to the scramble and cue for breakfast we have stayed in a lot of hotels up and down the country but never had to cue for food, then to be told bacon would be 5 mintues no toast and when I asked for coffee you young man said he did not do coffee and just walked away on the second morning people had to cue for about 10 minutes for milk for cerial thats bad it was the first time we have stayed with you and it will be the last we stay, we have stayed many times at the Metrople and never had treatment like that, very disoppointed Staff cue for food and lack of it kids running wild and running round the bar area cold in the main room area and why do you have a happy hour at the bar in the afternoon when most people are out why not have it at night time for an hour thinks were that bad people from outside could have just walk in and had a meal you would not have a clue who was who plus side cleaning staff bedroom, very good

From the reviews I read before we went to Blackpool I was prepared with my own sheets and towels but I was pleasantly surprised. Our sheets were clean when we checked in, towels were clean and changed daily. I loved the spa and the gym (well equipped) but pool could have been fantastic if it was warmer. I enjoyed the meals. Staff could have been a bit more friendly. Wi fi not available in the rooms.

Good day out away from the hotel Dated, in need of a refurb, breakfast is not a relaxing experience, it's like a football crowd. The room had a view of - a wall. Not a very good hotel for us.

hotel has a pool and has good view of sea this hotel is in very need of remodeling. the lobby is old the front doors need to be remodeled as they are very un useable and uninviting to guest. the hotel rooms are worn out, furniture bathrooms bed and tv are very old and need replacinghere are cheaper hotels in the area which are much nicer and more friendly and enjoyable for you. i booked this hotel as it has a pool but wish i had stayed at bed and breakfast i stayed at night before. they even charge you for using credit card . now what kind of hotel does that these days

The location was just what we wanted- far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Reception and check in were friendly and efficient. The housekeeping standards were quite poor. The queues for breakfast were extemely long and I feel the timeslots did nothing to aleviate this. The room was only just big enough to accomodate the double bed and the outlook was not very pleasant.

See Customer Complaint. Overall I was very disappointed with my stay at your hotel. I have not yet have a good word for your hotel Thank you Hi yes I would like to give your hotel a Customer Complain on arrival at the hotel we were offered only one key to our hotel room. We entered our room the first time no problem then after an evening out going back into our room we found that we could not enter and had to go all the way back to reception to have the key reprogrammed after a nightcap we decided to go out of our room and have a breath of air again going back to the room again would not let us back into the room, again another long walk back to the reception to have our key reprogrammed. Each time that we went back to the reception the rather rued steward hotel representative was in at least abrasive and unconcerning with my complaint each time saying go to bed I have recorded your complaint. I would like this complaint addressing and the root cause report sent to me Overall I was very disappointed with my stay at your hotel Thank you

Everything Dirty unchanged room on arrival. Wallpaper coming off walls all round radiator. Window frames in filthy conditions as were all corners of room and bathroom. The bathroom sink was badly cracked and a health hazzard, reporting it twice seemed to have no interest to the receptionist(s). Eating in the 'restaurant' (more like a works canteen) eating on bare tables often filthy as was the floor, being herded like cattle, and having to queue and wait for certain foods at breakfast. So called entertainmant areas were absolutely diabolical children running round everywhere, eating evrywhere even on the dance floor. This was a special occasion we arranged for our son and partner who joined us for two days. They were disappointed to say the least. As a wheelchair user with a disabled husband we dared not go out one evening as there was a masonic party on, and everywhere in the carpark was filled to overflowing with all the extra cars by the masonic guests. Our stay was ruined we left a day early due to the whole experience. We will never ever stay at Norbrek Castle or any Britannia Hotel the whole weekend and reason for it was ruined. We would appreciate your comments before we take this any further. There are other issues which need to be voiced when we write our formal complaint.
