Not the most comfortablist bed. Bed just for one or two night it's fine.
Very warm welcome, good food and drinks. Cosy rooms and excellent breakfast to start the day.
Lovely location. On entering the hotel there was a notably friendly warm atmosphere in the restaurant. Welcoming greeting at reception all very good. Lovely view from our window.
On entering our room couldn't help notice the dirty carpet lots of stains large stain by bathroom door and the tub chair looked very grimy on the arms and stained not one I would chose to sit in. Disappointing
Very friendly staff, made you feel welcome Good quality food (although they did run out of many items on the first evening) at affordable prices Comfortable room with ample supply of hot water Free on site parking Excellent value for money
Continental breakfast selection could have been better (unhealthy) - no natural yoghurt, grapefruit, dried fruits. Limited choice of menu on Sunday evening as ran out of many of the main dishes (by 6.00pm) We were in the stable block and the room was a bit dark.
room was clean, and quiet.there was plenty of hot water and fluffy towels in the ensuite bathroom
room small, and the t.v.was on a loose wall bracket which made the screen tilt toward the floor making it difficult to watch, the carpet had stains on it.
food very basic - don't have the sausage & mash, heavy winter duvet in the middle of summer!
Four poster bed. Large room. Friendly staff
No separate shower
Stayed for 2 days, toattended a wedding. Excellent service. Great location for a wedding, Charlotte fantastic, as the chef.
good staff and food ok
Spacious room- lovely bathroom
Room was quite light in the morning
Splendid weather made the magnificent views so much more enjoyable. And did we ever get a surprise when we took a stroll after dinner when we stumbled upon a field ful of alpacas. :-)
Excellent location, good quality food, comfortable room. This trip was to commemerate a wedding aniversary. (Had our evening reception here 27 years ago).
Beautiful location, comfy rooms, good food and wines.
Bar became very noisy and the music spoilt the early night !
Cheerful staff Pub full as quiz night Lovely view from window Everything we needed for a one night stay before a graduation
We stayed here before and would not stay anywhere else when in the area. Love where it's situated. Love the building. Enjoyed the good food and the well priced dribks. Great stay!
I felt that the hotel was understaffed. We stayed on a Tuesday night which, apparantly is "bikers night" and was therefore very busy, but the hotel must know this and should have allowed for it.
The highlight of our stay was the staff who were always friendly and helpful and we felt that this was genuinely because they wanted to help rather than because it was simply their job. The food was also great, made greater by the wonderful service.
We were in one of the courtyard rooms where at times the noise made us feel as if were were in sleeping in a test. We could hear staff talking and working in the kitchen and we could hear every word of the person in the next room talking on his phone, in fact we could also hear the voice of the other person. The walls could really do with some acoustic insulation though the owner clearly wasn't too pleased when we pointed this out!
Very accommodating, needed to check in earlier as we were heading to a wedding & they were a great help. Hotel room was more than expected.
Nothing not to like!
Excellent place - real value and genuinely great staff - possibly a bit remote for some but this is my favourite kind of location/accommodation (quiet, comfortable and great food) - my first choice when I'm back in the area....
Good accommodation when you can catch the deals, room spacious and very comfortable.
TV is a bit outdated, location is awarkward with poor access to the city early morning, allow double the time for travelling. A lot of local roads have been closed on my last 3 visits which makes the commute even longer.
Very friendly staff. Bedrooms scrupulously clean and bigger than expected. Very convenient location on the edge of town so handy for both town and the Peaks.
Slight downside was food wasn't very good mostly prepared from pre prepared catering supplies. Perfectly adequate but not very inspiring. A choice of fresh salads would have been nice but it is a pub with rooms at the end of the day.
Everything, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Very good value for the money. Will stay there again when doing next training course.
Comfortable bed, very quiet (despite bar area being below bedroom).
Only option to dine in bar while pub quiz going on.
Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely clean facilities, extremely comfortable pillows and bed!
staff very kind and helpful, lovely bed , quite and pleasant atmosphere.
