This hotel is minutes from Sheffield and in lovely green countryside. It has great rooms, comfy beds, good showers, a nice pub, and good food.
This is a lovely hotel. There's nothing to moan about.
Friendly, comfortable,good value for money,
My mother and partner stayed there whilst I was in a nearby hospital having an operation. After my release from hospital I was still in pain so we stayed an additional night so I could rest. The staff couldn't do enough for me, they even let me wear my slippers at dinner. We will definitely stay again, hopefully when I well!
fantastic food and staff ,could not do enough for us .
The English Breakfast
Room had wall cracks and had no tissue box and no room menu or history for the hotel and details or pen and notebook in room bare minimum outlay standard 3 star.
Efficient, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food, great value for money.
The staff were wonderful and so helpful. The atmosphere in the hotel was warm and inviting. A great place to stay. Would highly recommend it.
Would have liked a kingsize bed.
Location was excellent for Sheffield and the Peak District.
Our room was a little bit cold even though the heating was on.
Great location, easy parking, good pub food.
Big,, comfy room. Comfy beds. Quet so slept wellVery clean.food in restaurant good pub food at good prices. Friendly staff. Good base on edge of peak district. Good facilities . Recommended
Welcome was warm. Food very good and reasonably priced. Patient and friendly staff.Quiet and comfortable room.Obviously a popular place to stay and to eat, busy every lunch and dinner time. Log fire on one day pleasant to sit by and read because weather not good in morning. Easy reach of Sheffield and Peak District sites.
Carpet in bedroom was stained. Cheeseboard copious for one but expensive in comparison with desserts for us as we are diabetic.
Great to have a Bible in both rooms
The Z-bed wasn't very comfy
Stayed 2 nights as booked tickets to see Paolo Nutini at Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield and took opportunity to do some local walks. The bar was very busy most of the time and the food was very good. I would certainly stay again if in the area.
We have stayed here several times and the welcome is always very friendly. The staff are very helpful and the bar is cosy.
Easy parking ,friendly atmosphere,interesting menu.
Very limited choice of wine
Great food, friendly bar and helpful staff in wonderful setting. Ticked all boxes !
The room was very clean and nicely decorated, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly. The bar cosy and the food very tasty and reasonably priced.
The annex rooms that we stayed in are tucked away around the back in the yard with the storage and the back door to the kitchen. The window to the countryside beyond very small. Ok for the £60 that we paid but would've been disappointing for anything more expensive.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Room good size, pub restaurant casual and cosy with reasonable choice of simple fare. Location convenient for visiting Sheffield and the Peak District.
Wonderful friendly and professional staff in all areas. Excellent comfortable bedroom and facilities. Food good quality. Jazz night Monday/quiz night Wednesday both very entertaining.
Wi-fi reception in room 4 hit and miss, but rectified by going in to corridor for connection. No great problem
Made to feel very welcome, looked after well, good facilities and great location
Would have been nice to have a B&B rate.

Comfortable well equipped room with comfortable bed and good WiFi connection. Literally yards from the edge of the park. Apart from the carpet everything else was spotless.
The cream coloured carpet was stained .....but we have a similar carpet in our lounge so I know what a nightmare to keep them clean......I think the moral is don't ever buy a cream carpet.
The staff and owner are excellant nothing is too much always have time for everyone thats why we keep going back very rare to find a jewell like this
