Brilliant location and breakfast. The kings arms opposite is a fine pub. Only problem is that the town does not have pub with sky sports.

Very friendly staff and slap bang in the middle of Arundle, so no need to use the car which was left in a safe car park at the rear of hotel. The hotel could do with a bit of a makeover but the feel of it was good and we would stay again and recomend it to family and friends.

The location was good as we had a wedding at the Amberley Museum but the hotel resembled Fawlty Towers. Reception not organised as at late afternoon there was not menu for dinner ready. The barman in the public area was not familier with the prices and the breakfast on Sunday was a disaster. There was no cereal at 8.30am it took a long time for the order to be taken and a long time for the cooked breakfast to arrive. We were not the only ones unhappy with the service. We were in the annexe which could do with a refurbishment especially the bathroom.

Friendly staff, adequate parking , value for the price We were there as part of a 65th birthday celebration and dined there with a group of about 30people . Apart from the onion soup, the main course was of poor quality. two slices of lamb which were tough, and a strange mix of root vegetables with no greenery. I know our hosts were very dissapointed. Our bathroom was cold

Cosy, friendly atmosphere. Great location on Arundel high street. Bed linen not pristinely white/immaculately clean. Pigeon cooed all night long right outside window - noisy.

Friendly and polite staff. Furnishings and decor very tired. Evening meal was not as good as expected. The lamb was tough, vegetables not fresh and lacked taste. It was a shame as I know the host went to a lot of trouble to organise the event. The delivery of the meal was good and serving staff polite and efficient.

City centre location with on site parking. Early room access and a good breakfast. An old hotel which needs a lot of money spent on it. Why we were given a room in a remote location accessed by 40 stairs when the hotel was almost empty beggers belief? It was clear that the hotel was run on a shoe string with very few facilities available not withstanding the advertising on your web site.

Great location, bar looked nice and lounge very comfortable and full of character. Good breakfast. As a descendent of an Arundel family, the hotel stay played a key role in my nostalgic visit. Excellent value for money. Bedroom decor was tired and dowdy. Whereas the bar and lounge had character in keeping with the age of the building, the bedroom could have been more inspiring. Looked like a low budget 1980s makeover. However, this is highly typical of many other hotels in the UK so it didn't really detract from the overall experience.

The friendliness of the staff The long wait for breakfast Choosing to stay in an old hotel but being allocated a room in the modern outbuilding - I would have preferred the main building but wasn't given this option.

Very pleasant staff sorted out parking without any problems. We stayed there because of the price for the centre of Arundel which we thought was very good. The hotel matched the price very well. We couldn't switch off the extractor fan in the ensuite bathroom which was a bit of a pain, but all in all the hotel is more than a couple of centuries old and deserves a little bit of forgiveness!

We decided to come back to this hotel as we got married there 5 years ago, and thought it would be nice to go back. It's oldy woldy charm is appealing, and locationn is amazing. The hotel does need a refurbishment, we stayed in room 1 - which was just awful, the floor creaked, the bed was even worse, being kept awake all night just because one of us decided to move over in the bed!! It was just so noisy, the slightest move was so loud. The doors in between floors bang, so everytime someone goes to their room it disturbs you! Ridiculous. The bathroom and general decor does need updating, the bath was clean, but aged badly. When we stayed for our wedding night (after the wedding) we obviously had a much superior room - which makes a difference. The price we paid for this was crazy money - we will stay at a Premier Inn next time! The breakfast wasn't good, it was as if most of it was boiled and you only got one of everything. Would be stay again- no!

Whilst the staff where helpful and friendly and this Hotel holds a certain amount of 'old world Cham', there is no getting away from the fact that it is in desperate need of a refit. I would have forgiven it if it considering the value if it wasn't for the small and really uncomfortable bed! Such a shame great location, a lick paint and some new beds would make this a great budget/ midrange hotel.
