staff is good
No WIFI and being basement room struggled for Phone signal. I was kept awake at about 3:00 am with some noisy extraction fan or pump which did stop eventually. I would be reluctant to return.
The room in the basement was large if somewhat out of date. Both room and bathroom were clean and functional but larger people would struggle with position of the WC and the narrow shower. Twin room with single beds that reminded me of billet style beds .. rock hard... I only paid £55 for mid week London isn't bad but i have seen the rooms advertised much higher and I think i paid what it was worth.
I didn't find the room clean, there wS mould in all the tile grouting and silicon, the room was very old. Not updated in at least 30 or 40 years. My room had 3 old very narrow single beds and you could feel the springs. The floor boards squeaked and the walls are incredibly thin.. The shower had a hole in the wall near the shower head, of considerable size. Room 109. The hallways are so narrow it's difficult to maneuver with luggage. This hotel has so much potential. Even cheap renovations like some fresh paint on the walls, new curtains or updating a bed, would do wonders. The towels were so thin, old and had a hard life. I had read reviews on this site that rated it a 7 out of 10 overall. I can't think how this place gets a 7!! Pleased with location, very disappointed in the hotels condition. I understand now why they make you pay on arrival, had I seen the room first without having paid, I would have left. There is plenty of choice in the area, the hotel is apart of a terrace of other independent hotels. I'm not fussy either, I don't expect luxury but this place was not nice.
I loved the location to Paddington Station, it's proximity to cafes and other amenities. There's also a small park right opposite the front entrance.
Everything was very dated. Could do with new furniture in the room and lobby. Television and hair dryer very old.
The room was okay for what we needed. Beds were comfy and bathroom was very clean.
The hotel in general was run down and in need of a LOT of tlc
The only blessing of this hotel was a decent shower!!!
Beds and pillows lumpy. TV old and poor quality. Microscopic bathroom.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location. A good hotel compared to some others of comparable price. Breakfast area clean and uncluttered
Friendly staff gave me an upgrade.
Friendly lady on reception
Sofas, chairs and carpets were very dirty and very nearly unusable. The mattress were not comfortable. Shower needed a clean as hair was blocking the drainage. Sofas and chairs were very dirty.
Staff were very helpful and supportive.
Central London, everything can be reached by walking distance, London Eye visible outside the window, it was like living a London dream.
I didn't like that tv had not good signal and difficult to find signal for free internet
I like the clean comfortable room with bath felt pampered
Not much to complain. Maybe the furniture are a bit old. But it is acceptable and still comfortable.
The location is the best. Very near to some of major attractions (Portobello Market, Oxford Street, Hyde Park etc). Near to a lot of bus stops. It's important to me because I travel through the city of London mostly by bus. The staffs are friendly. Halal foods are available even till late at night around the hotel area.
Tv very poor not even BBC channels and ITV very snowy more foreign channels than English
Ok I only paid £55 p/night if I'd paid tariff £130+ I would have been extremely angry
Weird view from our room but didn't matter to us. Other rooms would look out onto the lovely park.
Prime location. Beautiful leafy miniature Victorian park right outside hotel, with outdoor table tennis! Slightly weird room with view of wall and tiny strip of sky because room 505 was up in the top part of hotel which would have originally probably been servants rooms or loft. We didn't mind though, because such central location and pleasant area. Few minutes away is Paddington station and underground. Pubs and cafes near. We walked to Hyde park and further along V&A and science museum.
very poor wifi
Great location, room a bit dated, but clean & a good size. Nice buffet breakfast available.
No bar open at anytime. Hairy prison blankets on bed eww. Pigeons live outside window can't sleep with the noise of them. You can hear threw the walls. Yes u can hear everything . Shower is dangerous the top flew off and we couldn't stop noise of pipes banging. No point complaining there was no staff on anyways.
Not much to like really. Other than it's walking distance to tube stations . We where out most of the time. Thank god it was just somewhere to lay our heads. I went with me two sisters we very easy going and found it funny.
There was a lot of dust in the room. I think it's the only thing to complain.
With this price it's much better than other hotel. The reception is very nice. There were lift and bar zone in hotel.
The staff were very helpful. I'd had a fall on the way to the Hotel and they sorted me out with a bandage from the first aid. They helped us print emails off from the train company regarding our early check out due to my accident the following day.
Location was great very close to underground and Padding railway station and bus routes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean although a bit dated and also very quite.
there was no hot water....we were there for 3 nigths and we couldn't take a proper bath...
everything was great exept one thing.....
TV was very very old!
Location of hotel and staff friendliness!
Breakfast disappointing. Not cheap. Better to eat out. WLAN didn't work in the room.
Location, room was a fair size compared to most 3 Star Hotels in the area.
Bed was hard. TV was from the 1980's and the remote didn't work. Noise from the water system in building and thin walls..could hear what everyone else was doing.
The breakfast was cheap for a buffet and the coffee tasted good! Really a short distance to Paddington Station.....one of the staff was extra helpful and they have a good contact taxi service...cheap and reliable.
Decor was very tired, needs alot of attention
Good location for our needs
The water is not allways warm in the shower (morning) and there was no wi-fi.
Everything was really ok for the price. People were really friendly and the room old but confortable. With a perfect location. Near the metro and train station. Walking distance to Hyde Park.
