Staff were very friendly. The food good. The position and views of Rutland Water lovely. Good range of toiletries in the bathroom. Comfortable large bed. Lovely old building sensitively adapted for hotel use. The in-room drinks available was pretty basic - tea and coffee, no biscuits. A very small outlay to widen this selection would cost very little and makes a world of difference to the guest. The plumbing from the next door room was noisy. Room descriptions were not clear. We had a Lakeview executive room, but from what I could see on the web site executive rooms should have a jacuzzi bath - which we didn't

Very good room for my elderley relative with disabled facilities on the ground floor withh a double room next to it. breakfast excellent. Quiet site, beautiful location. Easy parking. It would have been nice to have a coffee louge overlooking the reservoir. The conservatory was laid for lunch. Is there a room upstairs with lift?

The staff and food. Food is excellent, good value and good portions. Staff are very helpfull. The building is lovely, and it is the second time that I have stayed there. Staff went out of their way to be good to my 12 year old daughter who didnt like the evening meal menu, it was not a problem, they got her the lunch menu with more things suited to her taste. Twice ive stayed and I shall return. I find the more select Best Western Hotels are good value in general. Nothing to dislike

When we drove up the hotel grounds it looked really impressive & when we arrived at the front of the hotel it looked breath taking. The view from our room was beautiful overlooking the lake. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. We did get an excellent rate, as we booked late & got an upgrade. We would certainly go back again anytime of year, its a beautiful location. The meals & wine list in the resturant were a little expensive.

We were there for a wedding. The location was excellent. The hotel was very good. The staff were lovely and every request was carried out with a smile and good banter! The food during our stay was excellent and as the weather was so good we were able to eat outside! Everything was excellent! No complaints!

As the old stables to a former large country mansion I feel that the way the infrasructure has been very poorly maintained and repaired is a disgrace Apart from the view to the water the restaurant has absolutely no atmosphere I feel that such a building deserves better and Feel that the management should be ashamed of themselves for letting it get in such a mess

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding Their administration is dreadful. We were there as part of a family wedding. We booked (and had confirmed) a lakeside exec room and ended up with a small room overlooking the car park, other couples had a similar experience and one couple ended up with no room. The shower was at best luke warm and at worst cold. The tv picture was bad.

Had a very relaxing short break with a minimum of fuss and palaver. Only had breakfast at the hotel but it was most enjoyable. It was easy to book and the admin washandled very efficiently. Our room provided for all our requirements but the decor was a bit tired.

Friendly, courteous service where each member of staff made sure we were as well provided for as possible although having to walk across outside from our room to the lounge, dining areas etc. would have been less acceptable had the weather been inclement. The grounds and surrounds are excellent - just check the location of your room.

The only good point is the location being on the edge of Rutland Water The hotel is desperately in need of a makeover. Light bulbs did not work, extractor fan in the bathroom did not work which meant the room smelt musty and damp. Furniture old and chipped and too much in a small room.Bathroom old fashioned, towels washed too many times. No bottles of water provided. Staff trying hard but not winning - really it is trading on it's location and has nothing else to recommend it.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at your hotel. It is in a stunning position and so peaceful and relaxing. We visited a few great places in the three nights and the four days we were there and had a lovely time. We will certainly be back in the future. However we were very disappointed that our standard room was not cleaned for any of our stay and so the room was not in readyness for us. Also reception had no idea that there was two of us staying and said there was no need to take my friends details, but had anything untoward happened it could have been a very bad situation.

The view from the hotel room overlooking the shores of Rutland Water was idyllic. I felt the hotel did not meet the luxurious standard I was expecting for the price/type of room/location. The room was clean but looked tired and a bit shabby. We weren't impressed by the food in the restaurant but did bring it to the attention of the staff and it was dealt with politely and efficiently.

The View on to the lake was lovely We arrived for breakfast at 08.45 and had to find somone to ask where to sit . I had to eventually go and ask for toast and tea and after walking past a table found the drinks which you made yourself . The cooked breakfast was a buffet style but there was no bacon or tomato left It took 25 mins to get bacon by which time there were no sausages or beans left . The receptionist had to go to the kitchen to get food . We left before any more food arrived . On complaining we did not pay for the breakfast, not what we wanted to do but this very much spoilt the start to our day . There was a distinct lack of management throughout the stay but in particular breakfast Time .I belive the two waiters were doing their best . But at best thuis was shabby . Hotels only have to provide bed and breakfast , that can't be difficult.

The Normanton Park hotel must boast the best location on Rutland Water, with terrific views and easy access to all parts of the lake and other attrections. The evening meals were only average quality, with little choice and top prices. Lunches were super and good value!
