Service was very good. I had booked breakfast when I booked the room online. Unfortunately I had to leave very early the next morning but I was not allowed to cacel the breakfast the night before by reception staff -which was a waste of £12.95. Also we ate in the restaurant on Thursday night and the food was disappointing - the prawn and advocado priced at £8.95 was dreadful and very overpriced. The haddock and chips the batter was soft and unpalatable.

Location. Close to junction of m6. Walking distance to shops. Not uncomfortable being alone at dinner and breakfast. Helpful staff. Bit unclear about settling bill. Encouraged to pay for food and drinks at time rather than putting on bill. Not used to this. I like the freedom of using key card and settling bill at the end.

restaurant layout spa and pool staff were excellent everything apart from a good night sleep The noise when trying to get to sleep. You could hear the neighbours next door and anyone who walked past the door or closed their door made a loud noise unintentionally but the noise travelled really bad and we are deep sleepers usually. The pillows were terrible. Lovely stay and hotel but the worse two nights sleep ive ever had.

I liked the surroundings and the food was good value for money. The room was very nice and comfortable. I was on my own with baby and found the doors difficult to open with a buggy and found difficult to get to restaurant in morning on the stairs. Alaso would have liked waiter service with cooked breakfast as I had to take my baby up to hot server with me.i was also accomodated on the 2nd floor in 231 which was at the bottom end of corrior away from lift which was difficult with a baby , buggy and large bag.

We had a warm welcome from the porter. The Spa, pool facilities and Spa staff were excellent. Thehotel staff were very poor at customer service. We booked a table in the restaurant and were initially ignored, had to prompt the waitress to sit down at our table and were eventually served our food over an hour after we'd booked our table. The hotel had a wedding and large touring party of 50. They could have managed our expectations much better with some acknowledgment of the situation and communicating with us what was going on.

All staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast head waiter (Italian guy I think) was so attentive, give him a pay rise. A poor nights sleep due to a noisy central heating system. Bath/shower was not cleaned properly, hair on tiles and plug area.Shampoo marks ontiles.

A nice clean comfortable room, fairly average size and quite small bathroom but nice clean and fresh decor. We loved the general areas ie lounge, entrance hall and dining room with huge fireplaces and log fires and lovely oak beams, really plush and comfortable. A really nice pool and facilities and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was child-friendly, it was comfortable and luxurious but we didn't feel 'on edge' with a small child and coming in in our walking gear as you may do in other 4* hotels. Food was fantastic.

Very warm and welcoming when first walking into hotel, great foyer with open fire - fantastic, and then several further open fires in various other public rooms Did not like to the external colour being painted onto the building, a colour better suited to Blackpool.

Really enjoyed this stay, the room was lovely, the spa was excellent and plenty of room for everyone to use everything. The restaurant served up genuinely the best fish and chips I've ever had. We managed to book a massage at about 4pm for the next morning and that was brilliant, the treatment area is so relaxing and the staff were lovely. We will definitely go again, there were so many little touches about this place which made it special. The exterior of the building doesn't match the interior though it did seem to be having an overhaul with scaffolding outside and guys working.

The arrangements for a Wedding, which I attended - both the ceremony and reception were conveniently held at the same place, and there was somewhere pleasant to stay overnight on the premises. It was also well conducted by the staff on hand. I got caught paying for both accommodation and breakfast in advance at reception. I inadvertently paid for a Full English Breakfast, which I didn't go on to have and a refund was refused, as it had 'gone through the system'.
