Location Would not describe the Superior Double room as being large and luxurious. Cobwebs on cornice and skirting board could do with a scrub. Pokey shower. Carpet had lost its tension and had a large crease which was a tripping hazard. Had to ask for a hairdryer as none in room. Key fob did not work on numerous occasions. Fire alarm went off and we evacuated the building at 6.30 am approx. We were rather concerned that no member of staff came outside to check guests were ok or to inform us what was happening. Fire door was not correctly secured which would imply that fire alarms occur on a regular basis.

Lovely hotel, will visit again. Food excellent, rooms nice and quiet. Beautiful bar and well kept gardens. The only complaint I have is that the music in the resturant was always too loud. I kept having to ask for it to be turned down, whcih it was then when I came in for the next meal the volume was back up again. I don't have a problem with background music, but I don't go to a resturant to go to a disco ...! I'll be back but please keep that bloomin' music to a reasonable level, so I can hear myself think ...

On arrival the hotel looked very impressive. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist named Avril. Avril was very helpful during our stay. The bedroom did need a little tlc but it was very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and we sat in the window of the dining room where you could see the cows grazing in the field. We would certainly consider staying there in the future. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely receptionist called Avril. Avril explained to us that there would be no hot water because of a fault. We decided to stay but unfortunately there was a wedding booked and where our bedroom was situated the noise from the party was extremely loud to say the least! If you are going away for a short quiet break then I would strongly recommend anyone when booking to check if there is a wedding booked on the same day.

Comfortable and in pleasant grounds. The restaurant was good and the food all seemed home made. Log fire in the lounge. My room was slightly cold on one night, and I would much prefer to be able to eat my breakfast looking out at the pleasant view in silence as opposed to having to listen to Radio 2 being loudly blasted out. Why do hotels/B&Bs think guests want their imposition of music put on guests at breakfast?

Lovely Hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. I was disappointed by the evening meal which was rather tasteless and the twice cooked chips were limp and greasy. Breakfast however was the best that I have had in a hotel for years. The building is beautiful and I can easily understand why it is popular for weddings. However the noise of people simply walking down a corridor seemed to be amplified in my room so I was awakened much earlier than I had planned

Conveniently located and easily accessible but with a real sense of being 'off the beaten track.' The members of staff to whom we spoke were conscientious and helpful, yet human and with a lovely sense of humour. We will be very happy to recommend the hotel to friends and family.

On our arrival the bathroom floor and wall tiles were not cleaned properly. The helpful receptionist said that this would be done whilst we were out. It wasn't any better on our return. Complaining again the following day we received a discount.
