The friendliness of the staff Rooms were small and outdated. Walls were very thin. Decor was old-fashioned, view from the window was a plane stone wall. Not worth £70. |

I have stayed several times before - the staff are delightful. Recent renovations have greatly improved the facilities. Very good value! Bathroom fan didn't work. |

We were underwhelmed by the room which was quite small and ordinary and we had hoped it would be nicer. The situation of the room meant that the phones and people speaking at reception was quite noisy. We had one flat pillow each and although we booked a meal when we arrived for later that evening we ended up waiting for an hour before we were taken to our table. |

the staff at this hotel gave our family room away to someone else despite having it booked for weeks. Then they sent us to another hotel where they had arranged for us to have their family room. When we got there, there was no room and the hotel was in a very poor condition. We ended up back in the Northover in two separate rooms, one adult and one 4 year old in each. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! |

Nice restaurant for breakfast. Room was quiet despite being next to the main road (well sound-proofed). Good location. Rooms need re-decorating (cracks in paintwork & ceilings), no show in the en-suite bathroom (I thought showers were standard now), only terrestial TV available and some channels not good reception. Overpriced for B&B with en-suite and no shower! |

the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. The mattress must have been been 30 years old. |

Found the room to be hot which meant opening the windows. Unfortunately I was kept awake by the noise of the traffic through the night |

The best thing about our stay was the welcome. All three members of staff we encountered were most friendly and glad to see us. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast good enough (not excellent). Nice touches of character (loos, pictures...). Very good value. Only minor things: electric shaver point didn't work; room smelt as if it had been smoked in; poor pillows. |

Good location, lovely breakfast. The room wasn't cleaned properly during our stay - ie the bed was made but no hoovering, sink not cleaned etc. |
