The staff were friendly and helpful. Also breakfast was nice and relaxed good car parking and near to the venue i wanted.Beds were clean and comfortable plenty of extra pillows. Staff recomended good places to eat. The bathroom in our room on the top floor was a bit dated. Shower was cold and door would not shut properly. It was an extremely hot day and had to leave window open, This made it imposible to sleep sleep for the traffic noise on a very busy road. If the weather was cooler i don't think the traffic would have been a problem. |

It is a clean, nice hotel, with old style furnished rooms and kind staff. At the same time a price is not high. |

Very helpful staff, comfortable bed in a room away from the main street which meant we slept well, unlike relatives at another hotel nearby. Delivered what was claimed e.g. a continental breakfast but very adequate. Fair value for money. |

the hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel itself is very nice, small and clean and suitable for family stay. I loved the room, it was big enough for three of us. it was good value for money. |

There is not much that I liked; really. I managed to sleep and given how much I was upset by this hotel, I consider it a lot. The room was just big enough to fit the bed. Practically no place to stand. The toilet cover was not fixed, so you had to be careful not to fall when sitting in this very important place. I was charged a 5% extra for paying with Mastercard, totally against any booking practice. |

The beds are very comfortable but we did not really enjoy them because of the noice. The hotel is on one of the main streets of Edinburgh but the quality of the isolation is very poor. We stayed 2 nights in 2 different rooms but in both the windows did not close properly and it was so noisy in the rooms that we had the feeling to sleep outside. |

The room was quite large with a double and single bed in it. Hotel on very busy road and the traffic noise was constant. The windows should be double glazed. Breakfast was poor. |

Nice and quiet, small family-run hotel. Our room had a (shared) balcony, which was a nice suprise. My girlfriend also liked the x-ray flower art on the walls! |

Its value for money. I stayed in another hotel in Edinburgh during my stay in Scotland. It was £10 more expensive than Northumberland Hotel and it did not have a private bathroom. |
