Beautiful house and very friendly hosts and great breakfast.
Loved all the extra special touches and the warm welcome and lots of helpful advice about the area and where to walk.
Pretty much everything. An excellent welcome, the best chocolate brownies I've ever had, and free too!
Too much to write in 200 characters but the breakfast choice was amazing and all locally sourced, lovely family run B&B, a quality of bedding I've never slept in :) snones throw from bike tracks and cannoing. Tea and homemade cakes on arrival, had so many extra things in the room that you would never see in other hotels and B&B... The little things go such a long way.
In a historic home. Great food. We'll be back soon.
Bill & Jayne made us very welcome. They were extremely knowledgable of all the local attractions and when they knew our interests were able to suggest some brilliant places for us to visit. The breakfast was delicious and all products sourced locally. The bed was the most comfortable We have slept in (we had the Monmouth room) and the toiletries were 'proper' size not diddly little sample pots. There was also the option to have fresh milk in a themos in case you didn't like the little UHT pots. We left to travel onwards to the Lake District and Bill gave us excellent directions to avoid congestion spots on M6. We left feeling rested, relaxed & thoroughly spoilt! We will be back - thanks Bill & Jayne! PS If you can't get the Monmouth Room ... it's because we're back in it!
professionally run, very friendly and excellent facilities. Very well placed for exploring the areas.
Very friendly hosts Good food
Friendly and knowledgable owners. Tea and excellent home made brownies on arrival. Lovely old characterful building in a pretty setting. Fabulous cooked breakfast.
Traffic noise from the A40, it's closer than you think. Very warm evenings meant we didn't want the windows and shutters closed, the noise was disturbing for a light sleeper.
Greeted on arrival at the front door of this beautiful property, then offered tea and cakes whilst we had a chat and got to know about the area. Bill and Jayne were so friendly, and as it was our first time in the area they made sure our stay was one to remember and also ensured that we fulfilled every plan we had to explore the Wye Valley. We had the twin room which was a generous size and very comfortable. I especially liked the fact that there was everthing you needed from shoe polish to fresh fruit, touches you would normally only get if you had a hotel suite. The breakfast was made fresh to order and a great way to start the day.
Very friendly, welcoming hosts. Very helpful recommending vists, pubs etc. Excellent food, especially home baked cakes.
The house was lovely and the host.....Jane and Bill were both friendly and made us feel very welcome, even providing Bills superb Lemon drizzle cake on our arrival. I had tears in my eyes when I entered our bedroom because it was so lovely. I felt like I'd stepped into a Jane Austin novel, the tour poster bed was very comfortable...can't wait to go back.
Only thing we didn't like...was having to leave
Jayne and Bill are the perfect hosts. Very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great advice on what to see and do during our short stay. Great breakfast and a very comfortable bed !
There is nothing to dislike about the Norton House
Bill and Jayne we're excellent hosts and the accommodation was first class. I can definatly recommend staying at Norton House.
We liked all the personal touches
We would have preferred some fresh milk
-lovely welcome plus cake-yummy! -friendly hosts -Comfortable, clean room -good breakfast! -situation near to road as we were en route...but.....see next comment!
Continual traffic noise until quite late and early morning too! Can't have it both ways! As we had very hot weather the windows were all open. I am sure if that had not been so, then there would be nothing to say here -and it is really nothing to do with the owners!!!
Very friendly, helpful couple, knowledgable about the area. Breakfasts were great. Welcome of home-made cakes was fabulous
The location is stunning and the owners have thought of everything for comfort. Tea and lemon drizzle cake on arrival!
The welcome pack is amazing - freshly bakes bread, delicious bacon/sausage/egg and homemade cake. A real treat! The kitchen is also set up with everything you need to properly self cater - not the case in all s/c properties. The owners are also very helpful in suggesting where to eat and scenic routes to take to get around. Local knowledge when shared is such a plus.
It's located quite close to a major road - absolutely not a problem for a long weekend but I would have been a bit disappointed if I'd booked for a week's holidays as it impacts on the sense of remoteness, and peace and quiet.
Loved the whole weekend. Jayne and Bill are delightful, very welcoming and extremely helpful. Loved that it felt we were visiting friends. Loved the huge breakfast table set for all guests to share even though we were early and so alone. Loved the very comfortable 'hug me' bed. We will definitely re-visit
Lovely location, well decorated and comfortable rooms, very welcoming couple Bill and Jayne

Really well positioned for exploring the area with great hosts, a lovely room and delicious breakfasts - what more could you ask for !
