The hotel was near to my place of work the next day, easy to find from the motorway. The room was spacious. The supplies in the room were very basic for a 4 star - more like 2 star! At breakfast the staff were not really bothered - they asked room number, told me to find a table, asked me if I wanted tea/coffee and colour of toast and told me to help myself - all in one fell swoop. That was the last interaction the staff had with me until I left the restaurant. They didn't even come to take away fruit bowl etc... The breakfast items looked really well, the hot food looked succulent and well cooked. However, the plates were cold and so was the 'hot' food. Very disappointing, but still reasonably tasty. The music at breakfast was extremely harsh and at an inappropriate sound level for a 4 star establishment. Come on Murcure - you should be doing better than this!!!

Lovely swimming pool and spa, rooms really comfortable, modern bathroom with bath and shower, nice food via room service, nice and quiet at far end of hotel even with a wedding going on both nights, (receptionist said she had upgraded us so that we were away from the noise, which was nice). Reception staff friendly and helpful. Limited vegetarian options on room service menu, no complaints other than that.

Spacious, clean room. Food was of nice. Staff accommodated to request for a quiet room. Spa facilities not well maintained, lots of mould, missing tiles. Bio sauna is tepid, rock sauna also not sufficiently hot. Room service tray charge of 5 pound is a bit steep! Request for quiet room at time of booking had initially not been taken into account, although this was amended after arrival.

Not a lot. The location as conference was held at the hotel. The food was very expensive, the menu very limited. The hotel feels tired and in need of an uplift. Section 2 in this feedback asks what best describes this hotel I cannot say it falls into any of the choices offered and is rather non descript.

The staff do the best they can to help and are the only good thing. The hotel is in need of a total refurbishment as it is very tired and all the areas are poorly decorated and drab. Rooms are poorly finished and main corridors dark and dreary. The restaurant is dismal and in need of total redecoration. The car park is on a lower level which means pulling luggage up a hill. This is not a 4 star hotel.

We enjoyed the spa and swimming, also the food was vey good, the service for breakfast was enjoyable, the full service was good, unfortunately the room we stayed in, had a faulty wardrobe door made from glass, this kept falling out of the runners and fell on us twice, this coould have caused a serious accident. We reported the problem, and hope this does get rectified.

The spa was very nice and brought a relaxed feel to the weekend. The breakfast was excellent, and we liked the hotel very much. There was a wedding reception taking place on the Saturday evening, which tended to take over the entire ground floor.

Good sized room Very small beds - small standard double in an 'Executive Double Room' is not good enough these days, especially when on the website you can see example room pictures with much larger beds in them. Public areas of hotel looking very shabby. Only one bath towel in room for 2 people and only one skinny pillow each. In room breakfast 30mins late and cold. Desk staff on check out not really interested in listening to concerns.

Having a nice swimming pool to use with good opening times and the cleanliness of the room. The room was cold and the heating did not work properly on the first night - but this was fixed the next day when we mentioned it. The noise from the bar below coming from both the television and when that was switched off the loud voices that continued on until early into the morning on the second night.

The price was really nice for an hotel with spa. The spa is excellent. The amount of shampoo and shower gel is too small for two people. The same for the biscuit coming with the tea and coffee.

The en suite facilities were of a good standard and size. The bar and restaurant area were well presented. The overall cleanliness of the room was very poor, the carpets appearing as if they hadn't even been hoovered. The cost of food and drink in the hotel was very high yet the standard not necessarily representing the cost. The staff appeared to be too rushed and at times the customer service was quite poor. Overall I would not have been happy if i'd had to pay full rate for the room and this is not a Spa that I would use again. I have stayed in far better hotels, most of which have been cheaper than this. It almost feels as if it is trying to live up to something it's not. Last thing to note is that you also have to pay for Wifi connection. In the modern day that should be a given for any hotel to be free.

Although there was Three Xmas parties going on in the hotel at the time of staying the only time we had any bother with noise was when we went for something to eat in the bar area. We decided to eat out as the noise was just too loud to bear for the time it would have taken to order and eat a meal. Apart from that, the room and facilities inside where excellent. The room was large with plenty of room to move around and had a seating area as well. My wife said that it was the best nights sleep that she'd had in any hotel for a long time. The bathroom had both a separate shower and a bath which was great as I love a bath on a night and hate the overbath showers in hotels as they always seem to drip on you. Overall my experience with this particular hotel was first class and my wife and daughter agreed. for the price we paid it surpassed all of our expectations. A few noisy revellers early morning going back to there rooms, but my wife got her revenge as we where up early for a competition and my wife went down the corridor shouting good morning everyone, hope you have a nice sleep at the top of her voice..... Very funny..... Made me laugh anyway.....

The hotel was really good however on arrival there was a tray outside the room opposite for 24 hours before collected which wasnt very attractive. The food prices are ridiculous and there was never anyone eating I the restaurant I went out for meals to restaurants if the prices were slightly lower I would have eat there.

The staff were particularly helpful, doing their job with a friendly attitude. Other than breakfast, we only ate sandwitches, but these were of very good quality with plenty of filling and accompanied by side salad/coleslaw and crisps. Our room, and particularly the bathroom, was exceptionally clean and well maintained. My eighteen year old granddaughter says she has never stayed in such luxury! Although this is purely a personal taste, the only downside for my wife and I was that the bed was a little too soft.
