Service was excellent, plenty of facilities
Over priced food and drink
Receptionists were frosty and unhelpful. Unable to book dinner on any of 3 nights at the hotel due to a large wedding party. Hotel in middle of nowhere. Alternative was to try and eat from grotty coffee tables in 'bar' area or what was laughingly called the conservatory. At least 6 bar staff were hanging around doing nothing, presumably waiting for the rush. Waiting staff were using the gym. Left after 1 night. Terrible experience.
Stayed in the Manor House - really nice. Staff are great nothing is too much trouble.
Menu in the evening is a bit plain.
Relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff
We were meeting friends who lived in Wales and choose this hotel as a mid way point, close to M3 and Winchester. It was a perfect location and easy to to get Winchester park and ride. The outside connection between the hotel blocks in November was a bit chilly especially when using the Pool and Spa. Food was good and the staff were friendly.
One thing stands out and that's the price for a coffee......£3.50 for a black coffee and £3.80 for a cappuccino!
Breakfast was great
Noisy people in room above. Extremely hot room and as on ground floor and only a large window did not like to open it for security reasons. Bathroom a bit tatty and this in an upgraded room.
Flies in room, dead and alive. Initially no hot water Room very cold when arrived, windows open, probably because of flies, no heating on! I could not stand up in shower!! So not that good really!!!
Not bad value for money
Long walk from reception to bedrooms. Terrible damp smell in bathroom.
Location very lovely grounds even on a wet autumn day.
The pillows were what let the bed comfort down.
The location was good for walking in the south downs and New Forest although you need to have a car as in the middle of nowhere. The pool area was nice. The room was small but modern and comfortable.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and after a few hours we went to book a table in the restaurant only to be told it was fully booked with a private function. We ended up eating in the bar area which was fine but as it is in the middle of nowhere we felt that we should have been told that we couldn't eat in the restaurant when we checked in.
A bit hard to find even with GPS there could be a lot more signs showing where to enter the property
Location, friendly , helpful staff, great breakfast..
No room in the restaurant for dinner!
Hotel is clean and staff are friendly.
Overpriced for what you receive in a standard room which is nice but as basic as a premier inn. Hotel also charge you a deposit at check in, mine was £266 and then take the full cost of the room at checkout before refunding the deposit therefore ensure you have enough money to effectively pay for the room twice.
The bed was uncomfortable and I was disappointed at not being able to get a table booked until 9.30 I should have been told the need to book dinner on arrival
Norton Park is ideally situated just of the A34 for Winchester and Southampton. It is a very welcoming place to stay. The rooms are spacious and the Shower rooms are 1st class.
Bar prices are a bit high.
If one reads 'the terms and conditions' there is little point in listing what one didn't like.
Good sized room, with a very good sized bed.
Key card to room was temperamental, and had to wait one hour to get into room on arrival as they had a problem with key card machine. Also the breakfast buffet had dried porridge in the muesli bowl ! If you happen to get a room near the pool expect it to bet a very warm room, and there's no Air Conditioning!
Loved both the Hotel and the area, unable to spend more time there, but hope to be going back. Good information about the locality from the reception staff.
The room was very comfortable and modern and beautifully clean. The staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was outstanding.
The standard room was quite small and the double bed could have been more generous, I think it was only a 4'6" double. The room did not have a bath, although the shower was large and very modern. Throughout our stay we could hear noise from a nearby road and noise from guests in the adjoining room. It was a long walk from the hotel reception to our room.
Great pool comfy room friendly helpful staff plenty of parking very relaxing.
Long walk to room (wouldn't recommend to elderly people for this reason)would prefer a firmer mattress.
reception, room, b/fast
distance to room/ bar area / bar food menu bar prices
Excellent staff allways helpfull. on previous visit a didnt read times for breakfast and arrived 15 mins late, staff helped to have late breakfast
long walk through cold corridors
The room we were changed to after we complained about the disabled room you allocated to us on arrival. The hotel was set in beautiful grounds.
That we were forced to go out to eat. We were told the bar area would over crowded and it looked brash. We had originally tried to book a table in restaurant but the phone line was out of order. We were told the restaurant was fully booked. You have too many guests for your facilities you provide.
Very friendly professional staff.
The pool facilities were excellent and the staff were very welcoming. The changing rooms were the best I have seen and having a swimming costume drier was fantastic.
