Very good,

“ This is a very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel set in beautiful surroundings. We had a very comfy bed resulting in a lovely night's sleep. Wide selection for breakfast in buffet style plus freshly cooked full English. There is a choice of eating places from relaxed bar-style food to more formal restaurant dining. ”

Great facilities and wonderful peaceful space in the middle of glorious countryside. Will bring the family next time. I wanted a massage when I finished a 100 mile bike ride round Salisbury plain. Did try phoning 48 hours prior to the stay to book one but completely full Saturday and Sunday. A bit disappointing.

Really pleasant surroundings and polite, friendly staff. Lovely place to relax. Young children in restaurant during evening meal - not helpful to a quiet meal and relaxation. Parents seemed unconcerned. As above at breakfast on first morning. As a result we did not eat in the hotel on our second evening and went to breakfast much earlier than planned the next day too.

Our room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Since we were going to a concert in Winchester in the early evening we ordered tea in the Scene bar at 5.00pm. Service was very slow and the food was not up to standard or as advertised on the menu. However the matter was dealt with swiftly by a young manager and a complete refund given with an apology.

The pool and spa area. Comfortable rooms The cold walkways to the bedrooms Unfortunate that the main restaurant was out of action, and staff struggled to keep up with supplies at breakfast time

Location, and long windy road entrance to the complex. Very Peaceful. The double room we had was very nice, comfortable, smrt, and very clean. Staff, with the exception of the breakfast chef, were all very friendly and helpful. Food was very good, overall ( sauages in the morning were a bit gristly however, and prices fo evening meals were a tad steep ). Swimmng pool area. Swimming pool was too small, and I was shocked that this was all that there was toseve the whole hotel. It was too cramped, and the pool had an awful lot of hair in it - the dainage system clearly wasn't working properly. Windows all around made it a little bit awkward for those of us that like to swim privately away from public view. We hae no children, but it struck as that there was absolutely nothing for children to do in the evenings apart fom mess around in the bar area. No games room,or tv room, which would have done the trick. Provision, therefore, was noticeably poor in this area.

Extremely chirpy, friendly and helpful reception staff, very eager to share information and make checking in and checking out a pleasant experience. The products in the bathroom seemed a bit on the cheap side - non-foamy shower gel and soap which left my hands very dry. I was also grateful for the window, as I found the room quite airless - perhaps I missed the air con controls however.

The Manor House is definitely the place to stay in as well as being quiet and comfortable. Room 4 there is the one to go for and has a good view of the grounds and lake. Poor shower in the bath, poor TV system which should seriously be updated and unfortunate low output lighting for reading. The restaurant which has a reasonable choice of food is however rather noisy and lacks any real character or views.

New years party was great fun... Food and entertainment were brilliant. The short outside walk between the hotel and allocated rooms. We visited this hotel on new years eve and found the short walk through a glass corridor very cold at two in the morning. Although we had a fantastic night, would visit again. Not during winter!

Secluded location Well specified, luxurious bedroom Spa facilities looked good, but unfortunately didn't have time to use them on this visit Lunchtime dining room staff explained the Sunday buffet service very well but had to be prompted to take a drinks order.

Food cold room service and bar. Had to change room after check in because heat didn't work and neither did the tv. Constant noise(low humming type) from machinery within hotel all night. Room long distance from reception and car parks. Room above door to leisure complex so constant noise from that and gym visitors. Breakfast on the last morning was a disaster long wait for a table, no hot food left.

The staff were professional and friendly Arrived late on a cold night after a 3 hour drive, had to park at the far end of the additional car parking area and walk a long way to reception. I was placed in the furthest away room from reception (Room 190) in block 3 - probably because I booked late and wasn't on a corporate event. This hotel is built from at least 3 buildings separated by outdoor covered walkways. Struggled through the maze of coridoors to my room with bags etc finally getting there 30 mins after turning off the road into the hotel grounds. The last hotel block was cool because the door didn't shut fully without help. Room was not warm either. Back to the bar ordered food which turned up luke warm - a function of the distance to the kitchen I expect. By this time just wanted to turn in for the night so didn't use the Spa / gym facilities. But burned plenty of calories walking to and from my room and shivering under the duvet. Wished I'd gone for a cosy country hotel instead.

Very nicely designed fit out in the bedrooms. Lovely site with old manor house and barn. It was great to have the spa and pool, but the pool was a bit murky and fit out could be upgraded in line with rooms.
