We loved the house and the garden. Also,It was so good to be able to reach the sea in a few minutes walk. The view from the window was amazing. The breakfast reminded us of 'home' and it was so well cooked. Heather and John are very interesting and welcoming people. We have no words.. We relaxed and had a wonderful time. It was so good to be able to learn more about iridology as well. Thank you from our heart.
Had great sea view and was away from main roads. Breakfasts filled us up. We were well looked after.
Having to leave.
Nothing was too much trouble for Heather & John; we felt very well looked after and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Our children felt very happy there and enjoyed greatly seeing the steam train pass.
Would definitely recommend this lovely guest house to anyone. Owners are warm and welcoming, breakfast was delicious, room comfortable and cats very cute and cuddly!
We had a lovely one night stay at norwegian wood. The owner couldnt have been more helpful. The setting is lovely with stunning views. We stayed with our two young children. There is a lounge area with a TV outside the room so we were able to relax there once the kids had gone to bed. Dont let the shared bathroom put you off. There was no one else staying when we were there so it wasnt a problem. Amazing breakfast cooked to order. Would definitely recommend.
Nice hosts, great organic meals.
Busy road nearby
Relaxed atmosphere.beautiful gardens .very cosy atmosphere .nice that we had lounge area upstairs outside our room.Heather was lovely!!!g
Waiting for the other family (2 children and 2 parents to finish in the bathroom.
Feeling welcome and relaxed with a boisterous 5 year old!
personal touch friendly welcome nice room breakfast

It was like home from home, very relaxed , heather and her husband where very welcominng
Heather & John couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating. Great breakfasts, beautiful location and very clean facilities. We would definitely recommend and we will be staying again next year. Stunning views and near enough to walk to town, but far enough away not to be in the thick of it too. Ideal for the beach and parks. Thank you for making our stay in Paignton so relaxing and enjoyable.
Food was superb...location was the best ..only a short walk up the hill but the views were amazing ..Heather and John are the perfect fit for our holiday..good chats like friends not just business people..could.Nt do enough for us..Our 10 year old lilly was bit picky with the food but the next morning heather kindly brought the sausage she likes..very comfortable rooms...lovely shower bathroom although shared but as there are only 2 rooms this was.Nt a problem..great knowledge of organic products heather has..and such a lovely warm welcoming place..You.d be hard pushed to find any fault with this place
Only 1 thing but this is really nothing...I managed to bang my head on the ceiling a couple if times only because we were in the annex..its really something to put just to show others that's all..
We loved our stay at Norwegian Wood! Heather and John made us feel like we (a family of 4, our kids are 1 and 3 yrs old) were at home. We shared the family room which had enough room for the 4 of us. The freshly made, organic, breakfast was really great! The B&B is clean, cosy, well-located and budget-friendly.We recommend it highly when you are looking for accommodation in the Torquay/Paignton area.
That we had to leave :-).
Every thing was very good, the owners are very nice couldn't do anymore to help. Breakfast was nice, room was clean, location was good as there was lots to do in the area.
Very clean, comfortable, friendly hosts. Authentic guesthouse experience. Very organic ethos with everything from food to bathroom toiletries. You wouldn't get this experience in a chain hotel. Stunning views also and a nice garden.
We were fine with the shared bathroom as the other family got up later than we did. I can see how it could be inconvenient though. It was hard to find but just make sure you know where you're going and ask beforehand if you're not sure.
A pearl hidden away in walking distance from Paigton as well as Torque. A window with a wiev to the sea ! Well made English breakfast prepared by Heather was what our family looked foreward when visiting Devon.
Warm, welcoming host at a real B&B (not a small hotel that serves breakfast; you really are in a family home). Beautiful gardens, organic fare, view of the sea from the rooms/gardens, towns of Paignton and Torquay are walking distance (or a short ferry ride away from the less touristic fishing village of Brixham). Many excellent restaurants are within walking distance.
Everything was perfect. There was road construction going on down the hill which went on till late night and started early in the morning when we were there, but this is nothing the hosts could have done anything about and I think the loud part of that work is finished now. We'd gladly return, even if the jackhammering were going on in the distance.
Heather was absolutely brilliant. From the second we got there, we felt welcomed and actually felt we were wanted there.
We arrived at Norwegian wood very late but still received a lovely welcome. This is a lovely, child friendly place to stay with great food and fantastic views from the bedroom window. However without doubt the most outstanding element of this b&b are the hosts who will bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable.
I arrived at Norwegian Wood very tired after a long detox and fast, and with a lot of special dietary requirements as a result. Heather could not have been more helpful and made special meals just to suit me. My stay was very comfortable and I would be happy to recommend Norwegian Wood as an excellent B&B.
It's a very welcoming BB, with a warm 'home' feel to it. The owners were friendly and made us feel very welcome. The house is beautifully decorated throughout to very high standards, has lots of character and is very comfortable. The organic breakfast was really nice with plenty of choice. The views from our bedroom were superb-looking out onto the sea, woodland and gardens.
the view from the window in the room we were staying in was wonderful.
We received a warm friendly welcome from Heather and John. The breakfast was delicious. The family room was absolutely brilliant, very spacious and perfect for a family to stay in comfortably and the view to the sea is a bonus! We had no issues with sharing the bathroom so please don't let this put you off staying here!!
there's nothing to dislike about staying here
Very warm and welcoming to myself and the children, couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. Wonderful views and ideal base to explore area.
Heather and John are the perfect hosts, being friendly and interested in us, without being intrusive. The location is perfect, with stunning views over the sea, towards Torquay. The breakfast is delicious and all locally sourced organic food, very impressive! On the first morning I asked if there was Tabasco for my eggs, which wasn't an option, and at breakfast the next morning...a new bottle of Tabasco was in front of my place...now that is what you call excellent service!! The lounge area is an added bonus, as it gives you extra living space and not being confined to your bedroom. Our daughters are 9 and 7 and wanted to stay longer, as did my wife and I, so we will definitely return if we are back in the area. The cats, Daisy and Blossom are really good with the kids, and they are still talking about them! A very special and happy visit, thanks Heather and John!
