The staff were so friendly & welcoming & those responsible for room cleanliness & servicing plus keeping the cosy log fires burning were also to be commended. The entire staff made our stay worthwhile & the food was delicious. Our room was very comfortable & not really " Hotel-ish" at all.Yes, we would go back again & would certainly recommend it to anyone who want's a quiet relaxing break .

After checking in and using the restaurant for the first day the restaurant manager greeted me by my name two days later having not seen me in the interim period. It gave the impression of attention to detail and customer focused attentiveness. Free WiFi also a plus. Lack of leisure facilities (gym, pool)

This hotel is beautifully situated in its own grounds, very close to the river and still quite close to Aberdeen. My room had a shower with a perfectly working termostatic showerhead - something quite unique in Britain in my experience. This hotel gives the impression by its appearance of being a 4 star luxury hotel. The staff are not quite up to this - they got my dinner order wrong although there were only very few people in the dining room - there was no lugage-rack in my executive room - and I had to ask twice to have one brought. When cheking out I had to have my bill adjusted three times before the hotel got it 90% right, at which point I had to leave to get to my meeting. It is of course easier to mount a 4 star sign on the facade than to train staff to such standards - more work is needed in this area.

I was promised a scan and email possibility, but at arrival nobody knew if or what. The receptionist helped me out with a couple of faxes, though.

I have stayed at Norwood previously for a family wedding and as I was attending a family members funeral choose to stay at Norwood on this occasion. I think the staff are very attentive and helpful, the food good, the rooms excellent. My only disappointment was that on booking I requested twin beds as I was accompanied by my cousin and did not wish to share a bed .,On arrival at approximately 23.00 after a six hour train journey followed by a taxi to Norwood we had not been given the requested twin beds. By then we was exhausted as we are very mature in age so did not want the hassle of going back to reception . I would stay again and would recommend Norwood

Lovely old architecture in the main building. Some areas were a bit dusty/ sticky and require better cleaning. My bedroom looked very clean - but I found tiny mites in the bed (bed bugs???- I dont exactly know) room 228

The stay was fine with a decent breakfast in the morning. I very much liked the design and authentic feel to this hotel as I can see that it does get maintained very well. The staff were efficient and friendly at all times. I was let down at the standard of the room as my expectations were so much more. Despite the fact we paid for an Executive Double Room which was apparently 'new' , this was far from that. The room was small and very dated with room for modernizing to a certain degree to keep within the features and design of the hotel.

06:30 start for breakfast. Friendly staff. Fast efficient service. Everybody could do everything - if you wanted something whoever you spoke to would get it done rather than saying "I'll have to get............"

The fairly sized rooms in camparison to other European hotels. The location which is away from the city center and in a relaxing outskirts of the town. The outlook of the hotel building from outside. Its too old and not well renovated.

We attended a friends wedding. The hotel and location was perfect. The price of soft drinks was absolutely outrageous and so was the alcoholic drinks but in particular the soft drinks. Also the function room toilets were not replenished with toilet rolls all day and I have to ask the staff to do it. At such an exclusive hotel you would expect this to happen as part of their duties. Not impressed. Also I booked a Junior Suite but Norwood Hall had me booked into an Executive Room. Luckily they had one free and changed it.

Good location if your planning to visit both Aberdeen city and the surrounding countryside. Set in attractive grounds the historic building has many original and impressive features while the rooms have been modernised with quality bathrooms and fittings. Reception staff were particularly helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was a little slow and disorganised, but there was a good choice.

They didn't have my reservation when I arrived. The door on my room failed and delayed me by 30 mins. They didn't replenish my complimentary water until I asked. They forgot to return a call to me after I made a request. I asked for additional tea bags in my room to be told they didn't have any. They forgot me at breakfast and didn't take my order until I asked. All in all the attention to detail is appalling! A very impressive building and location let down by poor customer attention.
