The atmosphere was lovely, log fires friendly staff. The room was clean and the decor was really nice. Really enjoyed my stay, the setting is charming but still very close to the City. I really could not fault anything about my stay, but if there had been a gym or pool it would have made the stay even better.

The Comfort and cleanliness was good I only stayed over for one night as it was the only accommodation available in Aberdeen, in my room for 7 hrs total, £200 per night was expensive.

I loved the scenery around this Hotel. I was attending my cousins wedding and you could not fault the food and the service. A nice touch was the setting up of a private breakfast room for all the families/guests to eat together (those that could make it) in the morning. Breakfast on the first morning was a bit hit and miss. Not very organised and I ate the breakfast that was given to me - not the one I ordered.

Lots of wonderful character features in the original building. Large room, well appointed, big shower, all well maintained. Good food. Alot of rubbish and litter, clearly visible in the woods below our window. An insufficient number of trained bar staff to deal with the number of wedding guests during the Reception and dinner.Expensive drinks.

The stay was short but celebrating a birthday. The room was wonderful with everything we needed. The staff were so lovely and very friendly, relaxed and helpful. We had our evening meal there and it was fantastic with a good selection on the menu. The location is excellent as it is so close to the city centre but still in a "country estate". With more time we would have done some of the woodland walks around the Hall. Definitely going back and spending more time next time! :) Everything was wonderful. Too short a stay but we were restricted due to work. A hidden gem in the city!

The peace and tranquility its relaxing This was our second visit and was not happy with the service at breakfast or at our evening meal .in the evening there were two couples and ourself,s one of the other guests had to go and find a waiter to serve our deserts after waiting three quarters of an hour which I find unacceptable , having to chase staff to be served is totaly out of order and will make me think twice before staying with you again

The whole ambiance was excellent. Will stay again when possible to do so. Having stayed in most hotels in Aberdeen the Norwood rates as one of if not the highest for comfort, style, service and overall ambiance. Superb. Not sure what the Norwood can do about about it.... But found the language in the bar a little to colourful/course for my taste, especially when females are present, in my case my wife. I shoulld add that I have worked in the Oil & Gas Industry for 35 years or more and am use to bad language, but not around woman. Old fashioned I guess...

The Property and room was outstanding providing a luxurious setting for a hotel The proprietors need to decide if they are operating a 4 star hotel or a wedding venue. The two do not mix. There was a wedding on both nights we were at the hotel which was intrusive, disruptive and noisy until the early hours of the morning. We couldn't take our baggage into the hotel for some time after arriving because the main entrance was blocked off and being used for wedding photos. In addition we found the staff unhelpful, slow and obviously inexperienced although there were a couple of exceptions. There was adjacent on the property a conference centre which should be used for the weddings to separate it from the hotel environment.

Generous room size, helpful staff and good food. Rather expensive in terms of drinks and whilst main hotel was warm my room (number7) and in particular the bathroom was cold. There seemed to be no way of making an adjustment.

Very impressive old house on edge of Aberdeen, lovely grounds. Room had all that we wished for and bed was very comfortable. Country house charm of bar and lounge. On arrival the lift wasn't working and we were on third floor, my wife has some mobility problems so it wasn't ideal, however staff at reception assisted with luggage to room and lift was working later that day. The disabled parking spaces are not clearly marked and much of the time cars parked here were not displaying any disability badges, there were usually spaces fairly near the door in the lowere car park.

When we were given the room we originally booked, we were pleased with the facility. Breakfast in the room was worth the extra £3. At least the cooked food was warm. We initially were given a room well below the standard booked and only when we complained, were we actually given the correct room. We booked an executive double but put in a standard room that was only prepared for one person. Attention to detail was poor; the tables laid for breakfast didn't have teaspoons, jam, etc. The cooked food was barely warm when it arrived even though apparently cooked to order. The bill was incorrectly prepared and it took much discussion to sort this out, partly because we don't use credit cards and were then not believed when we told the receptionist that we had paid room service direct for a late evening drink. Most absurd, why would you give someone hot milk in a pint glass, normally used for beer?

Very good food, excellent service and attention, beautiful historic building, good facilities for business conferences and social events like weddings. There were several weddings over the weekend which were quite loud until late in the evening.
