I liked nothing about my stay, the hotel shower thermostat has gone so the water suddenly turns red hot, they put us in a room above a disco so there was thumping music coming through where even the television didnt drown the sound, which went on until 12am then we were woken buy people leaving, ended up having a terrible nights they didnt offer me another room just 20% off the the hotel room which was not compensation for loosing a whole nights sleep. Check out is 11am on a sunday when most hotels is 12 even 2pm. Terrible hotel - never stay there again

We were attending a wedding which was well organised apart from check in times, which at 1500hrs clashed with the wedding time. They had promised to have rooms ready for 1330hrs but this didn't happen. The staff on reception were also not the most helpful I have ever encountered and the rooms were very tired looking, particuarly the bathrooms.

We stayed at the hotel as we were getting married in Nottingham on the day. We were allowed to check in early, the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful on the arrival of the bride to be and bridesmaid. We had 3 rooms books and when we all arrived back after the wedding the staff were brilliant, the bar staff helped with our celebrations and the restaurant staff were very sympathetic to our celebratory style food ordering ie; assisted by the bar!!! The rooms were an excellent standard, very comfortable and with all the necessary added extras ie, tea, coffee and shower gel. Faultless and fabulous value for money, we will definitely book again when in Nottingham.

Great location, and good buffet breakfast Rooms in need of an update, the beds are worn and bathroom mastic dirty and mouldy with several cracked tiles around shower area. No air conditioning and window latches broken. Shame as otherwise its a great hotel in good location.

Met by a receptionist chewing gum, who informed us that we were staying in a smoking room despite asking for a non-smoking room. Obvious smell of smoke, mold around bath & shower and a loose toilet seat describe the room, which was also above a wedding reception with very load music until 1:00am!

The Hotel was very clean, the room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent and filling. Free Wifi, and the price is good for your pocket. Tv was too small, and there was no sky. Toilet seat was loose, which is not expected in such hi caliber hotel

Plenty of car parking space Did not put extra staff on reception when busy, therefore large queues. Rooms look very tired and require new ensuite bathroom, redecorations and recarpeting.

The rooms were a nice temperature and comfortable. The hotel was very clean. We didn't like the fact that we were not told about builders working directly opposite our room. This wasn't too bad except they started quite early on the Saturday morning so woke us up! Maybe this is why we got a good price but I think we should have been told.

I enjoyed staying in the hotel for two nights. It is a nice and clean hotel. The design of the hotel is modern especially with the fountains outside gave a tranquil and pleasant atomsphere during my stay in the hotel. Staff at the reception and in the restaurant were very polite and friendly . The television inside the room has poor quality with less free channel to view. Found limited vegeterian item at the breakfast.

The hotel was much better than we had expected, for the price we paid we were expecting something much smaller. The first impression was great - the hotel looks wonderful on approach and the look of the foyer, bar & restaurant is excellent. The rooms are decorated to a good standard, the quality of the food in the bar & for breakfast is also to a high standard. The only negative comment I have is about the mattresses - they were past their best and were not in line with everything else. I feel that a good night's sleep is essential, so an uncomfortable bed was a big deal. But the hotel is going through a referbishment so I would definitely stay there again.

Need of major refurbishment. Bathrooms were dirty, broken tiles, dirty tiles, and not nice to wash in. Would never return. Food dried up been there hours. Hotel should state that rooms and bathrooms not up to standard. Pictures in corridors ust screwed to walls, queaky floorboards, fplates til its cold or dried out. Dated, needs major coplete bedroom and bathroom refurbishment. Like a 2 star hostel.

I recieved a nice welcome when I arrived and the staff were helpfull. I arrived late so can not comment on the food because the restaurant had closed but I was offered room service if I required anything to eat or drink. The room was clean and tidy but the sealant in the bathroom was a bit unsitely and could have done with a good clean or resealed. The headboard for the bed was not attaced to the bed or wall.

Staff always friendly and make you feel very welcome, overall very nice for the price The bar food can be hit and miss re quality and the rooms are let down by the shower curtains smelling - I have stayed here probably 20 times now and its always been the same - I have commented already - would prefer the smell of bleach!

Nice frontage, on arrival the first thing you see are the fountains at the main entrance and the bridge over the small lake to the entrance. The reception area is lovely with an all glass elevator and has a bright airy feel to it. The rooms were kept very clean during our stay. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, mostly hot unless you are late down. Rooms were tired but serviceable, good, tasteful furnishings but the beds were exceptionally uncomfortable with serious "roll together" problems. The "Strings Bar" was pleasant but very businessman oriented and very expensive. Breakfast is an awkward affair with nowhere to put the serving dish lids down when selecting your food.

Comfortable room, most of the staff friendly and informative. Very convenient for bus service direct to city centre Main restaurant not open therefore poor selection of evening meals. Breakfast served lukewarm so consequently cold by the time it is eaten. We would like to have been told on our arrival that the main dining room would not be available. The greeting at reception was lukewarm and on departure we were not even asked if we had enjoyed our stay.

“The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The shower was great - really powerful. We had a lovely view as we were on the 11th floor. The staff were really friendly and allowed us to have our room until 3pm, at no extra cost, so that I could shower after running the 1/2 marathon. Breakfast was good.” Cynthia, St Albans |
