The Nottingham Gateway Hotel    

Very easy to get to on the outskirts of Nottingham with frequent bus service from the entrance. Very pleasant gardens. Nice airy, open reception area with bar and restaurant. Very good carvery dinner and a buffet breakfast.

We only booked for one night, on our way north to Edinburgh. If we knew how nice the hotel was, we would have stayed longer.

needs a revamp urgently.old television, very old electric kettle.even older hair dryer it had not been serviced since 2003 toilet seat loose, chipped paintwork. needs revamp .

The surroundings in a busy city made it seem like a country retreat. The car very was excellent as was the breakfast menu.

The bed was great the staff were fantastic who ever you spoke to did all they could to help you the food was good as well what more can you ask for Good bed ,Good staff,Good food

I liked the glass frontage surrounded by trees. The lilypond stream and fountains.

Arrived late, ordered a sandwich in the bar, told I had to go to my room to order it on the phone, did so and returned to bar to finish drink, then told they could not deliver sandwich to me in bar so had to go up to room and wait 30 mins for sandwich. lost will to live so took drink up to room and went to bed. Also, breakfast poor quality and tastless, room felt grubby.

It is a basic hotel which is in need to renovation and the beds are uncomfortable. Old style TV with limited channels. overall, little disappointing

Staff were extremely nice. Food was brilliant.

Lighting in rooms is very poor. Floorboards creak very loudly can hear anyone moving around outside. Place is all a bit run down.

Loud music playing from the bat until late. Complicated room service and springy beds.

Lovely big room and comfy bed. Place is huge with lots of corridors, like a little rabbit warren so lots of walking to get to our room! All public-facing areas were of a high standard and the breckfast buffet was very varied and filling!

Our bathroom clearly wasnt up to the same standard as the bedroom (basic but adequate) but noted some of the others were being updated as we walked about, so maybe an ongoing programme to match the higher standards of the public-facing areas and bedrooms with the rest of the hotel, so this might account for the good nightly rate! It was a pity the breakfast finished at 10am and checkout was similarly early as we were on a restfull break and not rushing off to work so could have done with an hour later really!

Nothing really stood out, but that's not to say I didn't like anything. Overall the whole stay was a pleasant experience.

Bathroom was in need of repair as it leaked on to floor. It was a known defect, however, you should not be charging full rates for a room that does not have the use of all it's amenities.

Very good value for money. Rooms spacious but will need a bit of updating soon. Very clean good selection for breakfast.

Some traffic noise etc but not overpowering

The Price of the food and drinks and the fact that I was not made aware that the hotel was being refurbished. I also complained due to there being a hole in the matterest which was brought to my attention when the bed spring poked me in the leg and woke me at an un-godly hour.

The staff were very friendly and helpful
