The location of the hotel to the city centre is very good. we enjoyed using the spa. And the bar area is very pleasant, the breakfast was excellent.
The rooms could do with a tidy up there's lots of marks on the walls. The duvet where to heavy for our likings and needed the air con on all night, the pillows are so uncomfortable and really struggled to get to sleep.
1big lady staff very rude
Great location - only a few minutes walk from the centre. Very comfortable and clean room. Majority of staff very friendly and helpful.
We were checked in by a girl who didn't smile or respond to any attempt to make conversation. Handed me the key card - I had to ask which floor we were on and where to go for lift. My daughter was on crutches - no offer of help. Very disappointing. Other staff - especially in restaurant friendly and helpful. First impressions are so important.
handy for the shops, we went to the theatre it was just round the corner,
Location Staff very helpful Room and bathroom very clean Breakfast good
Bedrooms and public areas quite tired looking and could do with sprucing up!!
We stayed in an executive room which was lovely.the lady on the front desk who checked us in was so nice and friendly and as it was to celebrate my birthday she wished me happy birthday and when we got to our room there was champagne and a birthday card waiting for me which was a lovely touch!
The club lounge was lovely and drinks plentiful however the canapés were few and far between! We have used club lounges at other hotels and the canapés were plentiful and lots of variety.this was no big deal though we had a lovely stay and will deffinatly return
I booked this hotel because it was right near the middle of town where we had a restaurant booked. It was ideal for that. The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice, and the staff were friendly. The pool area was pleasant and well kept, with a spa tub and a steam room, although there was not really anywhere to chill out around the pool. There was a relaxation room next to the changing room with magazines etc.
The room was quite compact and as usual too hot. There was some aircon, but it wasn't that effective. The car parking was at first difficult to find because of the complex one way system round Nottingham, and was charged extra at £13. I did expect this, but I think it is nice if it is included when you book a hotel.
Prime Location. Easy parking at connected NCP even though charged £13/night. Nice ambience in bar / restaurant area. Good breakfasts.
Rooms are OK but looking a little tired - especially the bathrooms - where they need to clean thoroughly and upgrade - mould present around bath/shower sealing - which is never very appealing. Corridor wallpaper and carpets looking very tired - we stayed on 6th Floor - needs some refurbishment.
Nice and close to town.
Booked the Executive suite as a treat for my girlfriend but the Executive Lounge was nowhere near big enough for everyone and the large group took over so we had no where to sit and drink or eat (most of the canapé had already gone). Due to the amount of beer bottles on tables it looked like they had been there since 5pm when the free bar opened and would not be moving until 8pm when the bar shut. It felt more like a private party that we were interrupting rather than a communal space. Continental Breakfast was served until 10am in the Executive Lounge yet Full English downstairs was until 11:30. Our large room was very very cold and only had a small plug in heater. You couldn't have the curtains open as it the draft made the room colder than it already was. The bed was so rock hard and the noise from banging doors and beer bottles been emptied into bins outside meant we got very little sleep during our 2 night stay hence why we missed the continental breakfast. For the amount of money paid I was expecting a much better experience. Then the sting is that you've paid all that then they want £13 per day off you on top for parking. Wish the grand name of the hotel had lived up to our experience!
Loved the facilities and just round the corner from rock city for which was our reason for the visit. Staff was very friendly and helpful
The room wasn't over large for a double. And found fag ends under the dresser when we dropped something. Very strong smell of someone else smoking on the same floor as us. Plug sockets really hard to get to
The facilities, swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi were outstanding and the hotel was clean and staff were helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately the matress felt as though it had been over used as I sank right in however this might be to some people's taste.
In walking distance to the capital fm arena as described
There was a venue on the first, with no entry.. but alternative routes were not outlined
location, room view. Friendly receoption staff and chef. Convenient car parking althought entrance to lift was scuffy and smelly. Could also do wiith better signing to elevator from hotel
old bath and shower, for the amount and quality of rooms should have walk in showers. Worn paintwork. breakfast stafff dozy and unattentive, failed to cleard tables after dishes. Chef though was good. no one wished us goddbye when leaving and were to busy chatting.
This hotel is exceptional from the impressive entrance to the restaurant, bar and facilities. the whole hotel is clean & tidy with a dedicated team who are polite & helpful at all times. The location is also fantastic with all town centre locations & activities close by. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel any time. 10/10
The food in the restaurant & bar were a little pricey but to be fair it was to a very high standard.
Location and web reviews
Shabby hotel room with no ventilation or way of ventilating the room. Sealed windows and no air conditioning. Condensation on the inside of the window made the room seem very dirty/stuffy.
Paying for wifi
Pool, location, view
Room wasn't available until 3.45pm, also woken up by drilling!!
We had a meal at the hotel.the starters took so long we where offered a free glass of wine.We had steak for main meal my wife's was chewable mine was so tough I could not even chew it.No steak knife was offered.I was not charged.we will NOT be staying at your hotel again.
Air conditioning out of service for repairs. Room uncomfortably hot and stuffy. Concerned when ear plugs provided at side of bed. Very noisy room due to location of Rock City which finished at 2 am.
Comfy room Complimentary water Nice staff Good breakfast Central location Toiletries, especially pillow spray was a nice touch
Room opposite rock city Water from taps not drinkable No sauna in spa, just steam room
Great reception as we were staying for our 3 year weddin anniversary, with fruit & chocolates & a nice card.
No air conditioning & couldn't open window not so good & no breakfast included also parking was fairly expensive.
We like the location and the staff were very helpful.
No aircon in room, very uncomfortable. I dids complain the morning after as we were not aware of this on booking but were told when we arrived as we were already late due to breaking down on the way we didnt have time to look for an alternative. I was told also that i would receiev a voucher for a free nights stay so hopefully this will arrive with me this week. I will only come back if the aircon has been fixed. Also, we have a camper van and were unable to use the car park due to height restrictions, we have to park quite a walk away, this was not idea, an alternative would have been nice . . . . my husband and i come to nottingham freqently through work and for leisure so this was the first time at the crowne plaza, not a good experience.
Common areas of the hotel like the bar and restaurant and nice and spacious. Breakfast is great. Staff friendly and the location is great for the city centre.
Room was a bit small and nothing special.
- huge bed - spacious superior room - very polite receptionist upon arrival, and also the cleaners - beautiful atrium and welcoming lounge and bar
- unenthusiastic lady at reception on check-out - bathrooms could do with an update - could find a room elsewhere for cheaper with the same standards and more mordern
Good location for the city centre
Extra cost of parking plus the room was ridiculously hot. Providing a fan was insufficient. Only told of heating problem on arrival, should have been on the booking.
