Staff were friendly and knowledgeable on all fronts. Bar areas etc were very clean tidy and welcoming.
room was the size of a postage stamp. The walls in these small rooms are paper fin. Anti slip mates stuck in bath look like something out of the 60's
The staff were very friendly and polite. Location is excellent for going to the theatre and for shopping. Carpark was ideal and a fair price for 2 days of parking.
Rooms are dated (although a revamp is planned) and the bed was fairly small.
The foyer and 1st impression were amazing and i was truly looking forward to seeing the room.
The room was dreadful, it was small pokey and the décor very dated. There was too much furniture and not enough room and I was extremely disappointed with what we walked into. The air con made a dreadful noise and had to stay switched off and the room smelt of sewege. The room number was 515.
Comfortable rooms. Compact but very well appointed. Liked the bath robes touch and enjoyed lovely pool and steam room area.
the room was by a communal door which was very noisy and heard other people and the banging of door. this was a executive king size, but ended up a double bed and room was small.
Well, it was near the theatre we were visiting.
The room was grubby, particularly the bathroom. We had to ask for toilet tissue and the toilet bowl looked like it hadn't been cleaned.
Lovely hotel, fantastic location for what we needed, comfortable and clean
The heating in the room much too warm had to turn air con on due to no opening windows
location really good for theatre royal, shopping etc. booked this hotel because of pool which was very nice and also great reviews, so happy to pay bit more. Staff very nice. Room nice and clean.
After reading all reviews i was a little disappointed, i was expecting fabulous but it was quite ordinary. Found bed very uncomfortable,it looked great but didn't suit me. Also very little information in room about hotel and its facilities ie how to get to pool/spa.
If you are visiting Nottingham please give this hotel a try Everything was excellent from the staff decor and food. Our room was superb and it was so handy for all we wanted to do
Modern clean hotel with all facilities. Public areas are nice and spacious and bedrooms are great. Highly recommended.
Additional charge for car parking while staying at the hotel is in my opinion excessive and unnecessary
The provision of ear defenders in the room were essential due to proximity to nightclubs and the poor soundproofing between floors and rooms. Well done, nice touch!
Free wifi should be standard. Given the price paid, breakfast should be standard. The discounted car parking is more expensive than the site indicates and is the same rate as any nearby car park. The decor is a disgrace... shabby and torn... it gives the image of an uncared for hotel. If they don't care about the fabric of the place, the guests have no chance.
The location of the hotel to the city centre is very good. we enjoyed using the spa. And the bar area is very pleasant, the breakfast was excellent.
The rooms could do with a tidy up there's lots of marks on the walls. The duvet where to heavy for our likings and needed the air con on all night, the pillows are so uncomfortable and really struggled to get to sleep.
1big lady staff very rude
Great location - only a few minutes walk from the centre. Very comfortable and clean room. Majority of staff very friendly and helpful.
We were checked in by a girl who didn't smile or respond to any attempt to make conversation. Handed me the key card - I had to ask which floor we were on and where to go for lift. My daughter was on crutches - no offer of help. Very disappointing. Other staff - especially in restaurant friendly and helpful. First impressions are so important.
handy for the shops, we went to the theatre it was just round the corner,
Location Staff very helpful Room and bathroom very clean Breakfast good
Bedrooms and public areas quite tired looking and could do with sprucing up!!
We stayed in an executive room which was lovely.the lady on the front desk who checked us in was so nice and friendly and as it was to celebrate my birthday she wished me happy birthday and when we got to our room there was champagne and a birthday card waiting for me which was a lovely touch!
The club lounge was lovely and drinks plentiful however the canapés were few and far between! We have used club lounges at other hotels and the canapés were plentiful and lots of variety.this was no big deal though we had a lovely stay and will deffinatly return
I booked this hotel because it was right near the middle of town where we had a restaurant booked. It was ideal for that. The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice, and the staff were friendly. The pool area was pleasant and well kept, with a spa tub and a steam room, although there was not really anywhere to chill out around the pool. There was a relaxation room next to the changing room with magazines etc.
The room was quite compact and as usual too hot. There was some aircon, but it wasn't that effective. The car parking was at first difficult to find because of the complex one way system round Nottingham, and was charged extra at £13. I did expect this, but I think it is nice if it is included when you book a hotel.
Prime Location. Easy parking at connected NCP even though charged £13/night. Nice ambience in bar / restaurant area. Good breakfasts.
Rooms are OK but looking a little tired - especially the bathrooms - where they need to clean thoroughly and upgrade - mould present around bath/shower sealing - which is never very appealing. Corridor wallpaper and carpets looking very tired - we stayed on 6th Floor - needs some refurbishment.
Nice and close to town.
Booked the Executive suite as a treat for my girlfriend but the Executive Lounge was nowhere near big enough for everyone and the large group took over so we had no where to sit and drink or eat (most of the canapé had already gone). Due to the amount of beer bottles on tables it looked like they had been there since 5pm when the free bar opened and would not be moving until 8pm when the bar shut. It felt more like a private party that we were interrupting rather than a communal space. Continental Breakfast was served until 10am in the Executive Lounge yet Full English downstairs was until 11:30. Our large room was very very cold and only had a small plug in heater. You couldn't have the curtains open as it the draft made the room colder than it already was. The bed was so rock hard and the noise from banging doors and beer bottles been emptied into bins outside meant we got very little sleep during our 2 night stay hence why we missed the continental breakfast. For the amount of money paid I was expecting a much better experience. Then the sting is that you've paid all that then they want £13 per day off you on top for parking. Wish the grand name of the hotel had lived up to our experience!
Loved the facilities and just round the corner from rock city for which was our reason for the visit. Staff was very friendly and helpful
The room wasn't over large for a double. And found fag ends under the dresser when we dropped something. Very strong smell of someone else smoking on the same floor as us. Plug sockets really hard to get to
The facilities, swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi were outstanding and the hotel was clean and staff were helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately the matress felt as though it had been over used as I sank right in however this might be to some people's taste.
In walking distance to the capital fm arena as described
There was a venue on the first, with no entry.. but alternative routes were not outlined
location, room view. Friendly receoption staff and chef. Convenient car parking althought entrance to lift was scuffy and smelly. Could also do wiith better signing to elevator from hotel
old bath and shower, for the amount and quality of rooms should have walk in showers. Worn paintwork. breakfast stafff dozy and unattentive, failed to cleard tables after dishes. Chef though was good. no one wished us goddbye when leaving and were to busy chatting.
