Upgrade to the Executive Room was excellent value for money. Bose sound system, free internet and an extremely comfortable bed. Gym facilities were all brand new. Bar reasonably priced. What more could you want?! I have stayed in other Bristol '4 stars'; that come no where near to the quality this hotel offers.

Some things such as price of alcohol / food in the hotel we felt was a little overpriced and we ended up eating out both nights we were there as opposed to eating in the hotel which is what we really wanted to do.

The rooms need more glazing as traffic can be heard especially in the early morning got woken at 5.45am and couldnt go back after because of the traffic. Just coming out of the lfts there are wooded doors that slam shut everytime someone uses them... We went for food in the bar area I ordered lamb and vegetables and a burger with chips but I ended up with steak and chips had a nitemare trying to get the foreign barman to understand me and then he still got it wrong, I didnt complian as we had already waited over half an hour for the food and did nt want to wait again as it was getting quite late by this time so we had a nitemare stay and wouldnt stay again unless there was a drastic price drop and then only maybe.

I chose the Novotel Bristol as I have stayed in the Birmingham Novotel many times and knew what to expect. We didn't eat breakfast as it is a little expensive - you can't compete with Wetherspoons Im afraid. I'm sure at some point I will stay again. The lady on reception was helpful on the Sunday especially when I needed jump leads although the two men working on the Friday night shift were a bit grumpy - but then I would be if i were on a night shift. The two men working Fridays shift

Very central for a city visit, plus the bonus for us was on site parking. Meals were average & seemed expensive to us.

The staff was very welcoming and ensured we had all necessary information: car parking, breakfast, etc... It's a 10 mins walk from the port area so very handy in terms of proximity to the centre. The breakfast served in the room was a bit poor in quantity. The waitress originally forgot a tray so we had to wait to get another cup and then drink our tea cold...
