Chocolate pudding Standing at the bar endlessly several times waiting for a drink whilst 3 receptionists looked on seemingly incapable of pouring a pint |

Clean, good food, Seemed understaffed. (Had to wait on more than one occasion) £3 parking fee seemed unreasonable. |

Efficiency of staff. Good range of buffet breakfast. Dinner was excellent and within walking distance of the football stadium which is reason we chose it. |

The hotel was clean and tidy the room was comfortable, the food was adaquate but pricy, the staff were helpful As work was being caried out the dining room was out of action and food was served in another room, this detracted from the value of both suroundings and food. I thought thr charging for car parking outragous. |

The 2nd night! (and a very helpful cleaner.) We asked to move rooms as the bed was tiny and the mattress was so soft it was like a sponge! We didn't sleep a wink. We were told all beds/mattresses were the same but were then offered a disabled room which had a large bed and was on a solid, slatted wooden base. The tiny, spongy beds. The price of the wine per glass. |

In fairness we weren't there for long as we were at a Herbalife business conference. Staff were happy & helpful The only dissapointment was the cost of drinks at the bar. I never understand why you have to hype the prices.... People would spend more overall if you didn'T. Especially as there was no where else close by this was annoying especially after a long day and a long drive it's nice to settle down with a glass of wine.... And thats exactly what we did one glass of wine! |

Convenient location to Ricoh. Had all facilities for a short business trip. Did not really have time to see more than reception and room! Twin room booked but 'standard' bed available for one person only - I ended up on the camp bed which was not expected. Twin rooms with two proper beds should be available! |

It was near the venue of the meeting The staff did not pick up the phone when I called from my room. Usually I had to go to reception to be attended to or to order a taxi |

The only good point was the location for the Ricoh arena. Bed sagged in the middle. Lack of ventilation in room. Low quality breakfast, not the selection of Newcastle Novotel Hotel. Couldn't believe that it was refurbished in February this year, 2009. |

Free newspaper. Good rate. Friendliness of staff. Girl who served us at breakfast Sunday morning came to us and told us the procedure. Said she had to see to room service first and then would come back and serve tea/coffee - she was very busy but always had smile on her face. No gym.Pool outside but not in use. Food bit expensive.Hotel further away from Cov than we thought.Monday morning we had a communal tea/coffee flask which got cold quickly whereas Sunday we had our own teapots at the table. No berries from the 'orchard' as stated on menu. |

Too few staff, only two one evening to man reception and serve food. Long waits, no bread with dinner and portions very small though food good, is that so we have to order a pudding? So a meal for four was 86 pounds.Room very hot and no air con fitted in rooms. |

It does what you expect. Large clean room, good, friendly, attentive service, breakfast fine. This is not a pretty location it serves its purpose; near motorway junction and near city centre. Inside it's an oasis of its own. Food on expensive side. Bill was wrong but corrected without debate. Novotel rooms used to be bright this was not; maybe the result of the latest makeover. |

The room was comfortable, reasonably large and appropriate for our needs for the length of time of our stay. The breakfast and service in the dining room was good. I would recommend this hotel but would add the comments below. The temperature in the hotel generally and especially in the bedroom was far to hot (the heating was turned to O) The duvet was too thick for this level of heat and made for broken sleep. The traffic noise from the M6 was tremendous which meant that sleep with the window open was difficult - result - tired next morning! |

Comfortable bed. Nice staff. Very poor and slow service in the restaurant. Pricey food which was not good value for money. Expensive drinks. Car park access inconvenient and charged for. |

Conveinient for the arena, they were well prepared to handle the event. It was a clean comfotable room, but way over priced. There was a smell of stale smoke in the corridors. We chose not to have breakfast there as the price of £14 for a continential seemed ridiculous. I assume the only people that would pay that would be the people staying there on business when the company is paying! The price of the room was very high for what it was but we assumed they had been hiked up as the concert was on. |

Very comfortable beds. Room adequate and clean. Food good in the restaurant.Lots of hot water. Very expensive for a budget hotel. Breakfast was a stupid price. I think that putting the prices up just because there was an event at the Ricoh Arena was very unfair and money grabbing. |

The service in the restaurant and bar was outstanding. We ordered food in both (before and after a nearby concert) and it arrived both times extremely quickly. Car parking was excellent (our main reason for choosing this hotel was its location close to the concert event venue we were attending). There was no need to have the sofa bed made up in the room in addition to the king-size bed already in there. There were only myself and my wife staying there and the sofa bed took up just about all the remaining floor space. The safe was locked and thus inaccessible for our use. |
