Clean and comfy rooms. Rooms were a bit warm, and the air conditioning took a while to kick in when you set the temp.

Clean rooms good location On arrival, was told the rooms we had booked were not available. Receptionist tried blaming Booking.com. She offered a sofa bed in each room plus a free soft drink. Eventually saw manager and all was sorted.

We liked the location and design. The room was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was an awful smell in the hotel. It was in the foyer/reception area and bar. It didn't get any better during our stay. It was like drains/sewers. Horrible. It would put me off staying there again which is a shame as it was a lovely hotel.

A very warm welcome from the reception staff - all very helpful throughout our stay. The room was perfect for a weekend break. Comfortable beds and great to have shower separate from bath. The whole hotel appeared to be spotless. The bar area was pleasant and comfortable and excellent staff. The breakfast was good - a warm welcome on both mornings from the staff and the selection of hot and cold buffet items suited me. It's a bit of a walk down to Princes St from the hotel but you don't have to venture far at night for good bars/restaurants.

Staff at front desk seemed friendly and attentive, which was helpful on our first visit to a big city. Bed was comfortable, linen/towels changed daily. Princes Street 10 mins away, castle the same, grassmarket just up the road, so nice location The room we were given was a bit smaller than expected, but that was just luck of the draw with early check-in I guess. Whilst the bed was comfortable, it was 2 singles pushed together rather than the queen size double outlined in the booking. The TV remote was broken and not fixed despite asking at reception about it a few times.

The location The price The food was ok but a little overpriced The pool area was good Didn't like the bathroom with the separate toilet - after using the toilet you had to touch doorhandles etc before you could was your hands. This arrangement spolied what would otherwise have been a nice bathroom. The room was supposed to be 'superior' but it wasn't superior to any hotel room I've ever stayed in. The room was very warm and we found the thermostat to be ineffective.

Everything was fine from the reception staff to breakfast serving staff. breakfast was good plenty of choices. location was described as city centre , this was fine as we dont mind walking ,but for people who had difficulty walking longer distance and up and down hills it would have been a problem. a quiet location ,even with student building next door. being where it was meant we found different ways into the centre and saw maybe more for food and drink outlets than if we had stayed right in the centre ,so for that reason for us it was fine.
