Clean and comfy rooms. Rooms were a bit warm, and the air conditioning took a while to kick in when you set the temp.

The location was good. The staff very helpful. The first room we were allocated was fitted for disabled clients with an inconvenient to use shower. The washbasin plug was broken and the carpet worn and dirty. The room also had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. When we asked to be given another room the reception staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The replacement room was much better in every respect.

Close to eicc I ate in the restaurant one night. As I was alone, I ate while reading my book, but each time I put my fork down, someone would appear asking to take my plate away.

The hotel staff was wonderful, the room was quite large and clean. The location is also very nice. Although it's not smack in the middle of the Old Town, it's 5-10 mins on foot. The pillows are pretty bad as they don't provide enough support for the neck. Also, we tried the pool and hot tub one day and the fumes from the hot tub were very irritating to our eyes. I think the hotel should get that checked out.

Good hotel well situated. Pity that they could not accommodate the car in their car park and said they would re-imburse the extra costs at Castle Street car park - but they didn't See comment about car park

The price was excellent £70 Bed & Breakfast is the same as UK Government budget for hotel. Also, great to have pool, gym, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi to relax in after work. Breakfast was good as was the room. All in all, very pleasant stay. Would recommend at this price. Nothing. Good effort!

Very good location. Nice quiet, but fairly central. Friendly helpful staff. Good facilities and very good value for money. Bar food not great, Had a light snack first day and it put us off coming back for food or drinks. It was something we both agreed on. Overall though vvery happy with hotel. We would recommend to others and would stay there again.

We chose the Novotel as we were visting Edinburgh for the Hogmanay celebrations. It very very central and allowed us to walk to all the main attractions. The heat! They had turned up the heating (centrally) for the coming cold weather, but had done so too much. Even with the air-con on zero, max seating...it was too hot. We resulted to switching the air- con/heating control off completely and opening the windows. But the room was still ridicously hot as the windows have security wires on them to stop them opening more than 2 inches.

Really enjoyed the pool, it was clean and relaxing. Also the beds in our superior twin room were a fantastic size and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was very expensive, so we went to a cafe down the road instead.

The hotel is well situated for visiting Edinburgh. The rooms are good size and the breakfast offers a good selection. The room was not as clean as we would have liked - especially the bed. The sheets needed to be changed.

Rooms were very clean. Nice bathroom. Big beds. Was the best price across most 'city-centre' hotels over New year. For a superior room it was small. We booked hotel because it had a 'leisure facilities' but swimming pool more of a plunge pool - you couldn't actually swim any length and bad changing facilities in pool area. However, I think our view was affected by the steep prices paid over New year!

Location, size of room, sound proofing ie it was quiet in the room although on a busy road. Reception girls were friendly and helpful. The car park was full and the car park offered alternatively was a long distance away. I subsequently found an alternative car park much closer. I went to the bar and there was only one person serving on a busy friday night. I waited 10 minutes then gave up and went next door to the hotel there and was served immediately.

I thought the hotel was excellent value for money and I found the contemporary decor very appealing. I was very impressed when I ordered extra tea bags and met the house keeper bringing them along to my room, with a smile, when I went back upstairs. Impressive service at a well run hotel.
