if you go to Edinbourgh for few days this hotel is fine, it's near the grassmarket where all the pubs are.The center and the castle are about 10 to 15 minuites on foot! Also Confortable room! |

I enjoyed the location of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was excellent. This was the 2nd time I stayed at the hotel and the room was supposed to be superior. I was dissapointed. The toilet was seperate from the bathroom and tiny. There was no toilet brush, no bin and no sink! I am still undecided if the cleaner went into our room on day 2. Dirty glasses we had used from the night before were still where we left them and the bin hadn't been emptied so I guess not. |

The location of the hotel was fantastic, very close to the Castle and city centre. We stayed in Room 306. The bed was particularly uncomfortable, the two mattresses that were pushed together kept seperating. Also, the shower was leaking. The price was fairly sizable so we weren't too happy with these aspects of our stay. Other than that the hotel was good. |

Close to city centre and eicc; nice swimming pool, steam room & sauna. Didnt try gym but looked nice enough. Hotel staff very friendly & helpful & I would go there again. Ordered room service at night [panini] that was absolutely awful hardly any mozzarella or tomato mainly just old red onions. Hotel accomodation reminded me of an upmarket ? retirement home & room was like a student hall of residence but with shower and larger; I guess it's not bad for a capital city centre but was a bit over-priced. |

Central location Rooms were a bit cramped very poor offering of toiletries for a 4 star hotel, no shower caps , face clothes , body lotion etc..Staff friendly but poor english would have preferred if they had more local staff |

Friendly staff, quiet location & short 10 min walk to Princess Steet. Only 1 thing annoyed me. Poor cleaning of shower cubicle tiles. For the price , you don't expect black moudy lines all over the grouting in between the tiles. A good detergent & scrub would sort the problem. |

We booked this hotel for the location near the Grassmarket area in Edinburgh. We were not disappointed. The hotel itself was of ther standard you would expect from a 4 star hotel. |

The room was very clean and comfortable There was nothing I found unpleasant about the hotel, maybe an earlier check in time for people getting into town earlier than 2:00pm, because we ended up carrying our bags around to a museum. |

restaurant staff were excellent and went out of their way to be helpful, great location for nightlife shopping and restaurants. barman David should get a payrise,, their booking website stated booking details that were not true which cost me extra money, when told of this they agreed that it needed to be changed but two months on it is still the same |

Novotel did the simple things well and for an excellent price. Room Decor was modern and befitting a hotel twice its price range. Bed was comfortable with no shortage of extra pillows etc. Food was hit and miss |

The key thing is the location, however the hotel was clean with very pleasant staff. On the accomodation fllors it felt a bit like a prison block. |
