Location to Grass Market and Castle a plus.
Room was not serviced even after made available for 8 hours. The carpet was worn and needed cleaning. Street noise made sleeping difficult - we had a second story room. Will never use Novotel any again, too many dumps!
Amenities in room. Pool and jacuzzi Polite bar staff.
No changing cubicles at pool. Had to get dressed after swim huddled in shower cubicle in full view of others..
I liked the bathtub as well as a shower. Don't understand the separate toilet room that has no sink.... Great tv. Windows opened for fresh air. Nice hot tub and pool.
Thought the carpet could use a good cleaning throughout the hotel. Maybe just TLC in general.
We have stayed at this hotel in the past and really like it. Good to now see wifi in bedrooms and not just lobby. Nice little gym and swimming pool. Will definitely stay here again.
Might be a bit nit picking but ... A few free weights in the small gym would be great. Changing room gets quite flooded from shower.
Its location and the staff was very helpefull
The varity in breakfast buffet was not too much
Very efficient staff, comfortable accommodation, convenient for city and very clean.
Thought slightly overpriced and car park very difficult to access with a large car.
Pool Steam room The room The security
Would be good if there was more choice for breakfast
A lovely hotel in a central location. A good sized room. Didn't quite make it to the gym but the poor was lovely.
Felt it was a bit expensive but is probably in keeping with Edinburgh hotel prices!
Convenient to university, castle and not too far to shops. Great leisure facilities and choice for breakfast.
Noisy air conditioning.
The hotel was everything we could have hoped for. The room was big and well-equipped. The whole place was immaculately clean.
The toilet had no wash-hand basin so we had to come out of it and go round to the bathroom to wash our hands. Not particularly hygienic.
Lovely warm welcome, got checked in early which was a bonus and parking was safe and secure, room was lovely and spacious, few signs of wear and tear but nothing major worth twinning about, a little bit overpriced for what we paid seen as we only booked it day before (would have expected cheaper for last min to get rid of a room) we will stay here again :)
Location was on, good 10-15 min walk to princess street so bags of shopping becomes hard Pool is small but lovely, sauna wasnt working which was a shame. breakfast was very overpriced so we didnt purchase.
The large and comfortable bed, with good pillows.
I had booked three months in advance, been allocated an executive room, as that was all that was left; and had requested a room on first floor and at the front. When I arrived they had executive rooms only high up, and I was told I should have requested a lower room -- which, of course, I had already done. So I was given a disabled room (the only one available on the first or second floor) -- with the concession that, as it was an inferior room, I could have breakfast within the deal after all. So -- an indifferent room (really hardly any different from one in an Ibis hotel) for £220 a night. This is appallingly priced for what was little more than a spartan, budget-style room with little storage space, minimal toiletries, and no sense of luxury whatsoever.
Good location. Nice and clean rooms.
The sofa bed was uncomfortable. It was made available for an 8 year old child. At the time of booking it was not clear that breakfast was not included in the rate.
Large comfortable room, ipod dock, nice coffee making facilities, good restaurant.
There was a problem with my room booking and for one night I had to be transferred to their sister hotel (further out), but I did get a room upgrade.
Enjoyed the spacious room and the shower & toilet being seperate
I paid £300 for a 2 night stay with my 8 year old daughter as a treat. I paid 4 Star prices but didn't recieve 4 Star Service. I assume our room was over a 'work area' within the hotel, as we didn't get a wink of sleep both nights until at least 1am. On our departure, the member of staff didn't make any enquiries with regards to our stay. Very disappointed and unfortunately will not return again.
Has to ask twice for the sofa bed to be made up for our child and had no towels provided for her.
Comfort and location
Level of cleanliness in swimming pool
Liked all aspects including the pool
Nothing to dislike
Toilet seat was loose and missing 2 Shock pads
I fail to understand by shower gel is not replaced and that there was only one bath towel and one hand towel between us.
Mini facilities in the leisure area
Room was cleaned but bed not made properly
Good service - central location - good facilities. Friendly and helpfull staff.
Steam room and sauna were not working.
Excellent location and the chef introducing front pf house cooking for afternoon small eats is excellent
no bottle openers in the rooms
The situation within walking distance of the town. Staff were very friendly and helpful Great breakfast
