Good breakfast in hotel. Nice pool , steam and sauna. Nice view from our room on 6th floor
Excellent location for Kings Theatre We had dinner in the bar which was excellent value and the customer service here was beyond compare
although the hotel advertised parking, there was a courier van parked across the entrance to the car park and no one seemed interested Room smelled of paint, we had to keep the windows open all night in December Changing rooms for pool tiny, no privacy and only one shower
Rooms were too hot and deliveries at 6 am really disturbed our sleep, would not stay here again.
Excellent service from staff at Check in desk. Excellent facilities within hotel Excellent choice at breakfast Excellent value for money
Hotel was very nice, great rooms and very helpful staff
Cant fault anything
Staff are very good. Work hard.
Breakfast wasn't great Kids jumping in the jacuzzi Parents not supervising their children Limited menu due to changing menu. Bath was never clean, towels never changed
We were unable to use the swimming pool on the Friday morning as it was completely full of babies and mothers (not hotel guests) partaking in a class. One of the main reasons for booking this hotel was to have use of the pool so to be unable too was very annoying. Other than that the hotel is excellent.
Really nice room, good size Comfy bed woth a sofa in our room. Bath and separate shower. Maids kept it very clean
Would have thought the gym would have been bigger only 1 treadmill but then I was luck as when I was there only me in it!
Breakfast excellent,leisure area good.
Non opening window.reported to reception, said nothing they could do.hard pillows.
paying an additional £20 a day to park the car a 10 minute walk away and the staff not really caring at all is not good, poorly cleaned room and no conplimentry water is a first in a hotel for me aswel as the cleaner not emptying the bin, just dissapointed
They give me handicap room
The view of the castle from the rooms on the upper floors are great
Hotel was clean, fresh and the beds were comfortable
WiFi was not working Bathroom was a little too close to one of the beds. The separate toilet did not have a sink to wash hands
Everything there was great. Good conscientious staff who truly cared. well done
Having given over several hours of morning time totally to a baby/toddler swimming. No good for residents in the hotel when babies there each day for his long period of time. I booked the hotel mainly for swimming so was very disappointed that this was not able to be once the babies came into the pool. If this has to be then it should be for a smaller amount of the day
swimming pool Room Staff bar
bit far away from castle & centre
The headline of the review is meant to be tongue-in-the-cheek. The hotel is within walking distance of so many attractions that in any event one would have to have a room with a 360 degree view to take it all in. It is easy to get to those places on foot.
There is nothing that management can do about the weather at this time of the year.
Welcoming and friendly staff. Very modern room with great facilities. Was on 1st floor overlooking road but room so well sound insulated there was no street noise. Very pleasant breakfast room with great choice of good food. Nice bar with street view.
Room was clean but carpet looked a wee bit tired. Some may like the idea of a separate toilet but found it a nuisance having to go to the (excellent) shower/bathroom to wash hands. A small hand basin in the toilet room would be great.
Parking was available at a reasonable rate. Room was a good size but had limited wardrobe space for 2 people. The Hot Tub was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The toilet was round the corner from the wash basin. The walk-in shower cubicle could have gone there to make space for the toilet next to the wash basin. Breakfast was expensive at £8.99 pp. Their ad should show the hotel is located halfway up/down a steep hill.
I arrived to the hotel early as my business appointment was completed. I had two hours to wait until check in. I asked the girl in reception if it was possible to check in as I had to head to the airport to pick up my wife. I was checked in straight away. This does not happen very often. All staff members were very professional and polite. Rooms were grand and for a city centre hotel it was very good value for money.
I just felt that £13.75 was a bit pricey for breakfast but you do have the option. One guest decided that it was quite okay to walk from the pool, through reception and into the elevator. Dripping wet and just in his swimming togs with a towel over his shoulder. This maybe something that the staff missed but it is something that should not be allowed.
Room very comfortable and quiet.Staff pleasant and helpful.
Brekfast very nice. Can't comment on anything else because we had no time to use the facilities.
didn't work out when we booked how far the hotel was from Princes street! Too far to walk if u have lots of shopping.
Breakfast staff referring Toby name after checking room number
Food not quite as per menu and lager flat and not very fresh
Very central. 4 minutes to Grassmarket. Wonderful breakfast. Outstanding haggis.
Semi good wifi.
every thing is great
parking should be free
