Lack of car parking or overflow provision
Location was good for access to town. Welcome and check in good, speedy and informative. Staff welcoming and efficient.
Bed and sofa bed v. Uncomfortable. Dust in corners of room. Plug couldnt be plugged in so no bath possible.
Helpful and friendly staff at reception. Overall standard of room.
The food in the dining room in the eve was very poor.
Car park charge not fair to charge residents £7
Location is excellent
Heating didn't appear to work so was offered a very small electrical heater that wasn't large enough to heat the room.
Very nice spacious room
Wifi was slow to non existent
The whole look of the hotel was great. The lobby/bar was very nicely lit. The food tasted lovely and was fairly priced. The staff were friendly.
It was a bit noisy as our room was facing the round about. Both shower heads were leaking. I don't understand why the toilet is separate from the bathroom. The doors slammed so loud that they had made us jump a couple of times.
Bathroom and menu
Room was fine
Seemed to be based above a club with a booming bass and awful DJ which I was told would end at midnight, continued through to 1am. When I asked about it, I was told to get up and join them, all I wanted to do was sleep. The car park is relatively expensive for where it is, and the reception staff weren't always the most helpful. (One was fantastic though)
Everything ...except the parking charges
Having to pay £7 for parking as a disabled traveller and needing to be close to the hotel we had no option but to use their car park....they should make it free to disabled people it was free last time we stayed 5 years ago.
Service was superb. The location could not have been better placed for all of the towns amenities.
The water in the rooms was a little expensive at £2.50 a small bottle. The bed was a little bit low for my taste.
Location (walk to the station), service (dinner and breakfast), and great price.
location, bed comfort
bar staff, bar prices
Good location friendly staff, reasonable price.
No Air-Con and too noisy to open window
Size of room which was clean with ample facilities
Small separate lavatory with no hand washing facility and situated right next to the front door.
We really enjoyed our stay. This affordable and pleasantly decorated hotel is close to the centre. The clean facilities have a modern unfussy style. Staff are very polite and accommodating.
It was near where I wanted to be.
The menu had a very limited vegetarian choice
Despite the hotel being almost full, we were moved promptly without any fuss to a new room which was obviously the last room they usually use as it was a little run down, but it had everything we needed and we slept well. Great service.
We noticed that when the window was shut, there was a high pitched noise which was continuous unless we opened the window. Air pressure? So we asked to change rooms - we could not have slept with that noise. Also think breakfast is ridiculously expensive. We ate a wonderful full fry up for £7 at a cafe in the docks.
Friendly informative reception staff, waitress staff very good
I ordealise new employees have to be trained, but a new barmaid on a Saturday night being left to it, not a good idea, every drink I ordered she had to ask someone what it was, didn't even know how to pour a shandy, pint of lager was just cream, had not a clue when I asked for it to be put on room, she had to come to my table some time later to get me to sign for it, a lot to be said for the requirement on appropriate training before interacting with customer.
Staff were all so friendly and welcoming. room was large and comfortable. Very happy with the overall service.
The television would turn on by itself in the middle of the night which woke me up.
Location was good for the city centre, the room was a pleasant surprise and was larger than i was expecting. Free Wi Fi was good enough to check news and e-mails which is all I required. Plenty of channels to choose from on the TV if you want to stay in.
didn't like the parking arrangements and arrived early to make sure i got a spot. if i had known parking was on a first come basis i probably would not have booked here. i also think the bottled water in the fridge should be included in the room price.
our pet dog tricksy was very welcome
Located in the heart of Ipswich and an easy walk to the marina and retail park. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay
Friendly staff great stay enjoyed the hotel
Big room. Well equipped room. Big shower. Nice staff. Good location. Short walk to Portman Road.
Nothing in particular.
