Friendly staff and lovely comfortable rooms .good location handy for city centre and our student daughter's house at jesmond.

We booked on a room only basis and we thought the cost of continental breakfast £13.95 each was extortionate .needless to say we did not partake!Also the pool though clean was rather tiny and the fitness suite had about three pieces of equipment.

Size, pool, children's play area and games. Nice rooms,modern with plenty of space, friendly staff.

I used the hotel primarily because it was convenient to my purpose. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made the overnight stay more pleasant.

I was not impressed that we had to pay for the hotel parking (£5 for an overnight stay). It would be tempting to use the free parking at the adjacent Toby Inn.... The breakfast would have cost £13.50 if we had paid for it after we had taken it, which seemed pretty expensive to me. However, we could have it for £7.50 if we pre-booked it the night before - which to me smacks of a rip-off. Either it costs the hotel £13.50 to put it on (I can hardly believe that), or it costs them £7.50, in which case they are ripping guests off at £13.50. The window in our bedroom did not seal properly, so we were disturbed by traffic noises all night.

The staff at Front Desk were lovely and very helpful we were over for Grandson funeral so it was a sad occasion but was treated with great respect and very good service all round.

It was well decorated and the common areas were clean and comfortable. There was a good selection of food from sandwiches to more exotic meals.I Did not have the opportunity on this occassion to try the gym/spa but that would certainly be a bonus.

One thing which disappointed me was the bed which was too hard for my liking but I accept that people have different preferences. Staff were not brimming with friendliness.

The location was ideal for work and the comfort was excellent.
