excellent price for an unexpectedly snowy stay in Reading! V good check in staff, room, and breakfast. We ordered food for our rooms, and it took 55 minutes to arrive, even though we phoned to ask where it was; unacceptable in a 4* hotel. Was charged the wrong price for breakfast, although was changed immediately when I pointed this out. Otherwise an excellent stay for an unexpected stopover!

Fantastic stay on check in I booked the wrong type of room and wanted to change to a double, I had to upgrade to an executive suit for £20 more, well worth it with large rooms and free wifi (standard rooms charge for wifi internet). Recommend the executive rooms for a great stay 3 minutes from Reading train station. Parking should have been free, they charge £10 for over night in public car park close by.

I normally stay at the Penta but their prices weren't as competative on this occasion so tried somewhere different. The hotel is highly spec'd and does it's job very well. We paid a very reasonable price which enabled us to upgrade upon arrival to a superior room. The Room had fluffy robes, slippers, a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and free WiFi (Come on hotel owners - we customers now expect this included anyway!). The room was very spacious and well suited to leisure or work. It had a Bose ipod dock, loads of connections for laptop etc, as well as a cleverly designed adaptable work desk. The proper leisure facilities were well appointed as opposed to many hotels which just see these areas as a tick in the facilities box. Overall, a very good experience, worth a couple of extra pounds if you're in the area. Parking as ever a slight issue within Reading, but parking is available in an NCP about a 2 minute walk away. High charges for internet unless you upgrade your room. Coffee shelf a bit tiny and fiddly. The toilet is separate from the bathroom (good), but tiny and claustraphobic (Some of us guys like to relax and read a little!)

Opting for the inclusive breakfast. Made a lot of sense with a youngster on board. Everything was great but the bed was unforgiving unfortunately. The sofabed was more comfortable but the blanket wasn't thick enough for warmth in January compared to the massive winter weight duvet on the bed (I.E. couldn't fix it by adjusting the aircon.

Really liked the location, we managed to get a great rate, the only downside was that although on the website it tells you there is a car park the extra charge of £14 per car per 24 hour period was not mentioned until we had arrived and parked! Wish I had packed our swimming costumes as the pool looked fab!

The room as well as the bathroom was spacious and comfortable and within walking distance from the train station (which this time was important to us). Staff was very helpful and efficient and informed us well. We had a bit of a hurried stay at the hotel as we only stayed for a couple of hours overnight, then had to travel on, so it was important for us that everything worked out well - which it did. We'd definitely stay again.

“I had stayed at the Quality Inn before for a similar break. I had no hesitation in re-booking for a Sat - Sun stay and I was not disappointed. I used the hotel as a base for a trip to watch London Irish and then did shopping on Sunday with a local friend. I was given an upgrade to a double room on arrival which was a pleasant surprise and the hotel suited my needs perfectly. Courteous, helpful staff, a comfortable room with a good shower and a hearty breakfast. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation. DA” David, Peterborough |
