Efficient and friendly check-in. Clean and comfortable room and good bathroom, though we found the taps slightly mystifying. Fantastic location right in city centre, next to Winter Gardens, etc and with reasonable parking charges for 24hrs. Good that you don't have to check out till noon after a party!. Bed was low for us (we have back problems) but mattress firm and comfortable and spacious for a very tall couple! Good control of temperature in room. Check out equally friendly and quick. Design of hotel pleasing - modern but not too souless. We usually prefer country/character hotels but this was great for a city break.

All in all the Novotel is very good value for money. We stayed in a suite and the only complaint I would like to make is about the quality of their soap, bath and shower gel and body lotion. They are absolutely terrible and the cheapest of cheap quality! I hope management will change these soon!!

The queen bed was actually 2 single beds that kept sliding apart and I kept falling in the hole. It made bedtime snuggled very uncomfy and any thing else for that matter. If it says quern size, I expect an actual queensize!!

The location of the hotels great with access to the city of Sheffield in seconds We were given a room with a broken bed and after reporting it three times and waiting half an hour we had to give up and make do. You will also be charged an extra £40 upon arrival in case you use the mini bar but you won't be told about it or given a receipt showing it. They class it as a 'pending payment' as far as I'm concerned, I couldn't remove the money from my account therefore they had taken it.

I liked the size of the room, the shower facilities and the cleanliness of the room. Also the staff were all very helpful and friendly. I didn't like that there were only two vegetarian options on the menu, both nights I had to choose the same dish as one was sold out. More variety would be a great advantage.

4* Hotel with 3* rooms. I've stayed in better Novotels to be honest, the rooms slightly let it down. Sofa bed was uncomfortable, no quilt given, just a thin blue throw (the type you expect abroad). Only given 2 mugs although we booked a room for 3. Toilet area could of been slightly cleaner - hair on floor from previous guest. Shower room was good. Would probably stay here again given the location and price. Cost of WIFI and parking facilities.

We stayed in Sheffield for a family birthday celebration, and found the hotel a very warm modern and friendly environment to be in, with very helpful and attentive staff. The hotel room was warm, comfortable and spacious and had everything that we needed. Although we only had breakfast in the hotel the food was well laid out and the hot food was actually tasty and hot. The car park also had plenty of space.

My daughter and I enjoyed our 4 days stay. It's central and very convenient. Members of staff were helpful and accomodating. The room was modern, comfortable and well lit. We'll certainly recommend it to our friends and will go back next time we're in Sheffield.

It was central to Sheffield Centre and easy to find a nice eating place, the room had sufficient facilities. There were stains on the cushions that looked a bit suspect!!!!! When we arrived we were asked to pay an upfront deposit of £100, this then changed to £40 and when I said I didn't have the money the manager waived this. Nowhere in the booking info did it say I need to bring extra cash or my bank card to pay a deposit, I paid the room fee in cash and do not expect to pay any more to stay in a hotel with my partner.

I stayed here for my graduation and got a really great deal (£59 for superior room). The room was lovely - modern and clean with a nice bathroom and comfy bed with crisp sheets. The staff were very helpful - even asking to hold a small bag whilst checking in. Easily signposted and had lots of parking - we paid £10 for 24 hrs. I can't believe the gym isn't in the facilities on the website - it was amazing! Not very big and only a few running machines, weights, rowing machine. However it was very state of the art. Clean towels and water was provided as well as a small but modern pool and steam room. Didn't have the food - we bought breakfast from Sainsburys which is next door. Also very close to restaurants near the Winter Gardens so we ate there. I don't normally bother reviewing places I stay but this was worth shouting about! I have stayed in hotels all over the world but this is probably one of the nicest UK ones I have booked. Excellent!

We looked forward to a Spa leisure break. The rooms were small and did not deserve the title od "Superior Room" as they were just basic. The Spa was minute and the pool area was not supervised so onec a group of teenagers took it over with bad behaviour we had to leave. The Hotel is very poor and the rooms are worth no more than £50 per night. The breakfasts are overpriced so we went outside. We will not use Novotel again anywhere. We travel extensively throughout the World so we are good judges of value for money and this is very poor value for money. We will let our Friends, Family and Business Colleagues know of our experience.

Staff were excellent at Reception (Declan and Alexandra). Room was excellent too - spacious, clean and comfortable. Great value for money. Hotel is ideally situated to explore "theatre land" and the City centre facilities. Need Sky Sports in rooms! Car parking is expensive (£8 per day)
