Efficient and friendly check-in. Clean and comfortable room and good bathroom, though we found the taps slightly mystifying. Fantastic location right in city centre, next to Winter Gardens, etc and with reasonable parking charges for 24hrs. Good that you don't have to check out till noon after a party!. Bed was low for us (we have back problems) but mattress firm and comfortable and spacious for a very tall couple! Good control of temperature in room. Check out equally friendly and quick. Design of hotel pleasing - modern but not too souless. We usually prefer country/character hotels but this was great for a city break.

I really liked the pool and steam room in particular. This was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. The room was lovely, we particularly liked the shower it was amazing. We stayed for two nights but upon my return home I really felt that I'd had a longer break.

It may not be fair but the way the hotel advertises itself I had higher expectations for this hotel than I received. I was placed in a disabled room so I can't comment on regular accommodation but the bed was very Uncomfortable, a futon type mattress, I suppose in an attempt to keep the ultra modern decor. Very centrally located but you just felt you were stuck behind all the city center attractions. When you came out of the hotel you snaked up a concrete alleyway behind the Winter gardens to get to the city center which didn't give it a feeling of quality which the hotel is trying to purvey. Compared to other hotels I have stayed in around the Sheffield city center this hotel is beaten on value for money everytime.

Great location for accessing vibrant restaurants and shops in the city centre. Just a few yards from the main train station. Minor issue with the room keys not working at first but this was resolved in the most empathic way.

Smart and modern appearance in public areas. Room ok and reasonably comfortable. Smart shower/wash room. Liked idea of separate toilet. Bed very squeaky. No room in hotel car park. Restaurant expensive for both dinner and breakfast. Toilet seat in room dirty. Didn't like insistence to swipe credit card 'in case' they needed to charge something. Not enough ceiling room for tall people to stand in shower. Two lightbulbs in room not working.

No remote for tv in room - phoned reception - one was delivered within 5 minutes. I don't mind things like the missing remote as long as they are dealt with efficiently, which it was. The room was too hot (as is common in hotels).

The hotel is situated in an excellent place close to the city centre. The hotel staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome upon arrival and for the whole of my stay. The service and food was excellent and i would use Novotel Hotels again in the future.

The room was spacious and clean. We had asked for a quiet room as we had a 3 year old child with us and it was quiet. Hotel is well located. We chose this hotel as it had a pool. However, the changing facilities are truly not acceptable. The floor was completely sodden. There is only one shower and a separate toilet, no privacy whatsoever and cramped. Not even a place to stand or seat a child. It is not big enough for two swimmers to change in at the same time. Very poorly constructed and thought out. When mentioned at reception we were told that hardly anyone uses the pool! Play area for children is basically the Reception! The hotel staff were friendly, the room spacious. On that score no complaints. We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on restaurant.

Convenience. We were visiting Sheffield Hallam University. It was very quite in spite on being in the middle of town. Staff at reception were very efficient and friendly. We found hair on the dressing table. The bar staff were friendly, but slow.

Clean and tidy and modern. Parking costs an extra 10 pounds overnight, which was not obvious during booking.the swimming pool is tiny and is not suitable for any one wanting to do laps etc. also there was no bath in the room, which was disappointing, only a shower.

4* Hotel with 3* rooms. I've stayed in better Novotels to be honest, the rooms slightly let it down. Sofa bed was uncomfortable, no quilt given, just a thin blue throw (the type you expect abroad). Only given 2 mugs although we booked a room for 3. Toilet area could of been slightly cleaner - hair on floor from previous guest. Shower room was good. Would probably stay here again given the location and price. Cost of WIFI and parking facilities.

We stayed in Sheffield for a family birthday celebration, and found the hotel a very warm modern and friendly environment to be in, with very helpful and attentive staff. The hotel room was warm, comfortable and spacious and had everything that we needed. Although we only had breakfast in the hotel the food was well laid out and the hot food was actually tasty and hot. The car park also had plenty of space.
