we went to watch the football and the hotel was just a 10 minute walk away. The next day we went to the food& drink festival at Knebworth and Hotel was right at the beginning of the driveway. The hotel was next to motorway but we could hear any traffic. The food was really good, A bit out of town but this was also a good thing

Rooms were spacious & clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The corridors were spacious making it feel like an upmarket hotel. The prices of the drinks were extortionate. We met friends during the afternoon and had a few drinks but the cost was excessive so we decided to pay for a taxi and go and have a few more drinks in a pub at 1/2 the price. The prices of continental & cooked breakfast are double what you would pay at another budget type hotel ie: Premier Inn.

The whole building is in urgent need of refurbishing. The rooms reminded me of Butlins Skegness chalets of the late 1970s with white Formica furniture, stippled painted walls with plain white painted doors. The carpets had seen better days and were stained. The net curtains within the rooms were stained brown at the top. Cables were affixed to the walls with grey plastic clips. The corridors were poorly lit and themed on the "smoke glass effect" of the early 80s. The meal I had in the restaurant was nearly average and I declined breakfast due to the cost - As it says in the leaflet in the room "breakfast for only £13.95" - This is not the Ritz. Even more astonishing was the cost of the broadband service £10.00 for 24 hours - seems a lot of money when you can get it free at McDonalds (go there for breakfast as well and save yourself a fortune). Overall I was extremely disappointed and will never stop at another Novatel. The Novatel chain should take example of Premier inn. Oh and one more thing, if you’re feeling peckish in the night, try moving the bed settee in the room. You can have a banquet with the food on the floor. I do have photos if anyone’s interested

Value deal in a good hotel Despite all the rooms being non smoking there was definitely a smell of smoking and booze in the room at first. Should have been well aired.

The majority of the staff were friendly, food was excellent, room service very efficient. Room was very clean. Unfriendly receptionist on my arrival, approx 4pm on the 18th January. Similarly during the stay, myself and other guests shared the same experience and opinion. However, this was not the service shown by the rest of the staff who were excellent. Whilst the room was very clean, the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. I would recommend other people to bring their own. Disappointed at the end of my stay when I was given a bill of over £60 more than it should have been. This was corrected when I asked to see the itemized bill and checked it. Similarly, I used the telephone in the room for a Bristol land line number and was charged over £11 for 16 mins. Hardly local rate as detailed on the bill. Excessive broadband charges meant I did not use this facility, which was not helpful for my stay. At £9.99 per 24 hours, when I pay £15 per month for my business broadband, this should be made apparent on your website or when booking the stay. For this reason I would not consider staying here again despite the fact that I have 4 more trips planned this year at Knebworth House.

Staff were very friendly and helpful Bathrooms in need of updating - a pathetic shower producing a dribble is so 1970s Paying for wifi in hotels is extortion considering I can get it free with a cup of coffee on the highstreet interesting take on thai green curry and "authentic nan bread" stayed at a lot of Novotels in my time, but this is the one that time forgot

Pleasant and courteous service boyh at check-in and in the restaurant. A convenient stopover hotel for Luton Airport. Separate rooms for the toilet and bath/shower. We prefer them in the same room. The room itself was looking a bit "tired" (could do with a refit).

I was there for a wedding it served its purpose. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. The hotel did not have confirmation of my payment so it was a hassle sorting that. Whilst doing this we missed the last shuttle to the wedding venue. We rushed there in the car and got soaked as we could not park outside the house. My room although non smoking stank of cigarettes. So not great.
