My husband and I were making a flying visit to Stevenage and wanted somewhere to stay overnight which was reasonably-priced, unfussy and convenient, so Novotel certainly fitted the bill. We had stayed at a Novotel hotel once before and were impressed then, and we were not disappointed on this trip. Everything was clean, tidy and in good working order (except for the bathroom extractor fan, which didn't seem to be functioning) and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful : please do pass on our appreciation. Most importantly, your hotels are dog-friendly - always a "must" whenever we are away from home. All in all, excellent value for money.

Allthough this hotel is close to the motorway there is no noise when in your room and it is very quite at night. The staff are very nice and ensure that your needs are catered for. Would recommend this for short stay on travelling. Nothing negative about this hotel.

Location was perfect for my needs (social even at Knebworth House). For a budget hotel the look and feel of the place was good. The staff were friendly and accomodating. My only winge is my room could have been better cleaned; the shower plu was covered in hair, the metal piece on the bath was missing and there were empty soda bottles under the chest of drawers, as well as a dirty spoon.

The room was clean. My wife and I were very happy with the environment as our previous experience with another hotel was very bad. Checking in and out was hassle-free.

The hotel was in a very convenient place for our needs last week There was a problem with a noise like an air lock every time the toilet was flushed or the water run in the bathroom. This was reported to the staff who said some of the rooms were tempromental in this way and they would report it on.

A very comfortable bed! I had a good night's sleep which is unusual for me in a chain hotel as the beds and pillows are normally too hard. I found it hard to find my room.

We have stayed many times before, the prices have gone up in all the hotels in the area, This hotel is located just 6 minutes away from our families home and is easy to find, the rooms are adequate the bathroom eg shower is good, large towels, iron ironing board, hairdryer, wardrobe easy to use in fact the whole set up is very comfortable. The lighting could be better. The beds are comfortable bed linen clean and good quality Also you can adjust the heating in the room easily as we don't like too much heat. We always stayed Bed and Breakfast but have now found the price is quite high and our Dog goes into Kennels at half the price of our stay so it mounts up I noticed a burning smell with the kettle I told the receptionist who had it changed immediately

Convenient Location, good breakfast, comfortable room, great shower and bathroom facilities. A little noisy at night as I could hear other bedroom doors opening and closing and people in the corridor talking. You have to access the hotel by car due to the location.

Ideal location for the wedding we attended at knebworth barns I secured the room with my credit card online and when I arrived I wished to pay for the room in cash on arrival. Although I did this they still wanted a swipe of a card. I did not have one on me! Had to use my partners. Do not understand why my details that they had from my online reservation were not enough. Room wag big and outdated and the cook had to google how to make fried bread when we requested it in the morning. Breakfast was served till twelve but when we arrived at half ten it was nearly empty.

The bed was very comfortable. On arrival they had a powercut that lasted for around 2 hours. By 9pm the electricity back came on. The staff were very good in trying to keep everyone calm and reassured that the electicity would come back on soon. They gave us free drinks and snacks while we wiated in the darkness. All credit to them for coping in difficult circimstances.

Design and lighting in foyer; we enjoyed an excellent dinner. The toilet in our bathroom stank of stale urine. Also evidence of past use ! The washbasin drain in the bathroom was very slow and there was no evidence that the plug had been removed and cleaned for a very long time !

When we booked into the hotel, we noticed a drinks and cocktail, menu, which we read through at the time, because we allways like to finish the weekend off with a couple of Cocktals. On the Saturday evening we went to the bar as planed and looked around for a menu, but could not find any. I asked a young waitress who was passing if she had a cocktail menu, and she said no they did'nt have one, and off she went. I then went to the barman and asked if he could give me one, to which he replaid that there was'nt one, and he did'nt have the materials to do cocktails! I was very upset, becaus I knew we had seen the menu. We were so fed up and just about to go back to the room, when the barman came over and said that he could do two different cocktails, which I picked one. Later on in the evening, we noticed a young lady, comeing from a private party, with a drinks menu in her hand, which had the cocktails on. I asked her if she had had and of them and she said yes, her and her friends had every one on the menu between them. We had stayed with you for three nights and most likely payed more then the people there that night. To be treated in this way is just not acceptable. I would serously consider not useing your hotel again!
