The lady serving at the bar on Saturday afternoon was excellent! We had fabulous customer service from her. The play areas are a lovely touch for small children The separate toilet and bathroom arrangement in our room was quite inconvenient for our needs. Also, our room was above the front entrance to the hotel... guests congregated outside the entrance to smoke and, given the hot summer nights, the fact that we needed the window open in our room meant that we were awoken at 2am by rowdy/noisy smokers. But when our children were playing in the outdoor play area at 9am we disturbed some other guests having a Sunday Morning Lie-In, so all's fair, I guess. |

Check in was excellent, as was the breakfast. The bathroom. Modern design fixtures, but they didn't work well. the shower flooded the bathroom every time it was used. |

It's handy for the city centre, very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I liked the rear terrace overlooking the canal, and the sun helped. |

The staff were excellent - all were very friendly and provided a great customer service. The decor of the hotel was very nice and modern. The location is great for the centre of York too. The room was made up for us as there were 3 of us staying. |

We really enjoyed the location, only 10mins walk into city centre. The staff were very helpful and eager to assist in any way they could. The room was a good size even with pull out bed extended. The room was very warm and air conditioning was not installed(staff did however, provide a fan). The swimmimg pool area appeared a little tired. |

Clean, functional, quiet room with all amenities. Hotel close to middle of York. Car Parking reasonable and convenient. We went out for dinner because the menu looked basic and the Blue Bicycle restaurant nearby is excellent. We also went out for breakfast at Betty's because it is special and the same price as a rather uninspiring and expensive hotel breakfast. |

My wife and I both enjoyed our meal and thought the service was excellent throughout the hotel. My wife and I both thought the room was too expensive and did not represent good value for money. The sales feature "room with sofa" gave the impression of a larger room. We did not like the separate toilet, which meant having to wash hands in a separate room. We stayed the following night in The Mallyan Spout in Goathland. This was a much better room in all respects for £120 (£1 more). |

It was fairly central, with easy access to the the centre,, and the breakfast was good. It was a bit noisy , no air conditioning in rooms means sleeping with the windows open |

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious. Location for york city centre was excellent. Would be great if they had a sauna, steam room or jacuzzi in addition to the swimming pool. Other than that the hotel was excellent. |
