Novotel York Centre  

The hotel was a short walk in to the centre of York. Lots of parking, although you don't need your car to visit all the sights in York. The river side walk from the back of the hotel was very pleasant. Lots of guests took advantage of the indoor pool. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. All the staff at the hotel were very helpful. We stayed in a Queen Superior room which had a very modern bathroom with toiletries and a very comfortable bed. Would stay at this hotel again and would recommend this hotel to families and couples alike.

The staff, especially the restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive.

Breakfast was very expensive and therefore we chose not to eat in the hotel for breakfast.

We like the staff who were mostly friendly, in some cases business like. We had a problem with our toilet in the room and this was dealt with as efficiently as possible. I used the pool a couple of times and this was ok. Breakfast and the meal we had in the restaurant was very good.

I don't have a complaint as such, just and observation. I think the tea and coffee at breakfast could be improved on. They tasted like dishwater. Whilst I understand you have to make money and use the cheapest ingredients, for the price you are charging I think people expect something of good quality.

Hotel overbooked so had to take a standard room but it was ok

The bed was like sleeping on a camp bed - the worst hotel bed we have ever slept in!!!!! Also the pool area was a bit shabby i.e. roof tiles missing or stained

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was within walking distance of York city centre, and had a swimming pool.

Not really anything that the hotel could do about it, but being a bank holiday, the hotel was full of kids, and the pool was packed.

The bar man was very friendly and let us know where the best pubs to drink in where

spacious well planned room, with separate bathroom and toilet. Very helpful reception staff. Hotel in excellent location, short walk from main sites of interest in York.

Location was good for the city centre. Also liked the fact that we could take our Dog with us.

We found the seperate toilet odd. Would be better as one large bathroom.

Liked the room, bath and shower. Bedding was nice and whole htel nicely decorated.

I had stayed at the Novotel previously and the room we had then was nicer. The menu was over priced and lacked decent vegetarian options. Far too complicated.

Good position, room cleaning poor no top up of consumables second day and reception polite but not friendly almost automatic . This aside it was a nice hotel

Excellent value for money, great location, and clean.

Mini bar expensive!!

The hallway carpets were a bit grubby could do with new ones
