Its in a great location not far walk from city centre, easy to find in car...staff were very helpful. Room was very clean and nice.

The swimming pool was abit of a let down, small and no sauna or steam room. There was kettle in room for tea but no milk.

The staff were friendly, the pool was bright and clean, the beds were comfortable, breakfast was fine, the hotel was within walking distance of the town centre, although a little awkward to get to because of the road layout in that part of York.

We ate in the restaurant on Saturday evening as we were short of time before attending a wedding reception. The place was empty and not very welcoming which should have been a warning, although the waitress was very nice. The food was pretty poor-I had a a 'superfood salad'- it was limp lettuce, a small peice of beetroot-allegedly some kind of wheat that was not attractive, , half of it was sliced raw onion and cucumber slices, it was completely tasteless, I had to ask for dressing which did not taste freshly made but from a bottle. The chicken that came with it was Ok but had no dressing , the bread was very good. I was annoyed at paying £9.50 for that and should have refused, I had complained which resulted in the salad dressing but that was it. My daughters burger was enormous for a child and did not seem properly cooked, the bun was wet and not very nice, overall I can see why the restaurant was empty, I would not have gone there had I any idea it would be so bad

The kids loved the X-box and Wii in reception. The bar is lovely and the food is excellent. The position is great by the river and easy to walk into town. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are too small and need updating. The toilet is separate from the bathroom too which is very old fashioned.

The room we stayed in was an executive suite but I don't think it was anything special. I've stayed in standard rooms all over the country and they were much nicer than the executive suite we had in York Novotel. Also I think the Car park should be free to hotel guests.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was particularly comfortable. Breakfast was really nice and good range of food on offer.

It is advertised as dog friendly but we could not use the bar or restaurant and had to pay for room service or leave the dog in the room. However in the morning dining staff arranged a table just outside the restaurant for us to eat breakfast with our dog with us. Please clarify your policy as dog friendly to me does not mean leaving the dog in the room when I use hotel facilities, I may as leave her at home.

Excellent hotel, very friendly staff, clean and tidy. Located close to the centre of the city. I would also recommend the Mirchiz (Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant nearby 3 min walk) but remember to book and take tour own alcohol (very good off licence nearby to restaurant)

Paying for a car park when we were already paying 140 for the night. Guests should be free as they used to be at this hotel ! We have stayed here on and off for 14 years.

we were agroup of 10 adults .we were given rooms close to each other. the breakfast was very good with attention to supply.

The staff so friendly they made me feel at home the moment I arrived.

Quiet location

Hard beds Prefer loo in bathroom.

Great location. Went as my daughter had interview at uni. Easy to get bus to. uni. Easy walk. into city but didn't realise there was a back entrance by the. river until last day. room good and clean. lovely empty pool nice for relaxing swim after long day shopping.

Hotel was comfortable and very well situated for our visit to York. Car Parking in site, if somewhat expensive.

Breakfast price too high and so we ate elsewhere for half the price it would have cost.

room was too hot and had leave window open all night to sleep then all the noise came in,it was tatty for the price I paid I think premier inn offers a better standard of room at a lot lower price.
