Self catering, very spacious, and good light and ventilation. Location, location, location. Would definitely recommend, we had the studio room on bottom floor with the conservatory. bathroom was a bit tight, but rest of space allowed us to dismiss that. Car parking on site, easy to find. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
Bathroom a bit tight.
Close to centre. Furniture was lovely. Would definitely go again.
The location, the grace and the size of the main room and the availability of the conservatory. Our host Arthur was welcoming and considerate
The tiny bathroom,so out of kilter with the main rooms......it was in need of refurbishment (tile grouting particularly). The bed is bowed, soft and needs replacing.
The location, just a short walk to the city centre. Great facilities and comfortable bed.
Lovely Comfy spacious living room, nicely a pointed main bedroom. Nice and spacious for a small apartment.
Ventilation in bathroom needs to be improved, after 4 of us showering it became v steamy and made the toilet roll wet! Lighting in the twin bedroom should be brighter as natural light is limited being located in the basement.
The bed was the most comfortable one I have ever slept on. Well planned apartment with table and chairs, large sofa and convenient kitchen area, spotless bathroom with good shower.I enjoyed walk into town not too long and interesting houses to see on route.
Stairs up to apartment bit of a climb .However I will definitely want to stay there again so next time ground floor apartment and to the rear as would have a better view and there was a bit of traffic noise.
Really comfortable studio apartment in a quiet part of the City but no more than 10 mins walk to the centre. Loved the Sky package (although couldn't convince my wife to subscribe when we got home) and the kitchen layout was well thought out.
The studio has the original windows which although they look very attractive do let some draughts in. The heating took a while to warm up on day 1 but with a bed that comfy there was no reason to leave it anyway!
Overall it was a great experience! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location, beautiful view from the window
Bed mattress was too soft for our liking. We prefer hard memory foam ones. The shower could only be used after switching it on outside the shower room with a help of a red switch on the wall. We had no idea that is how it works, so all 4 of us had to take a shower in the room upstairs ( we booked 2 rooms) where the witch was on already.
The bed, view, TV with Sky package, ipod dock, small kitchen etc
Staff were extremely informative and helpful. Furnishings and room were really first rate. Facilities and location great. Really charming place, excellent spot to explore Bath from. One of nicest hotels I have stayed in. Would strongly recommend it.
Bulb out in bathroom and radiator not working in main room-plus curtains covered radiator when drawn.
We stayed for 3 nights arriving on a Friday night and loved it here. We were warmly greeted by Arthur who was a charming gent who made us most welcome upon our arrival. Having the free parking permit made driving here a nice option albeit we decided to stay put but at the same time we were able to pull up outside and unload. We loved our ground floor room, a room with a spacious view overlooking Bath Rugby ground and the Croquet Club, in fact we had a bonus of a spectacular firework display put on by the local Rotary Club on the Saturday night so instead of exploring the local watering holes and restaurants we opted to stay in with a nice home made bowl of hot steaming chilli washed down by a bottle of Rocca in the comfort of our warm room. In a beautiful building, the owners have created a delightful self-contained apartment. We very much valued the surroundings and had a silent night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. All-in-all, Number 17 is such a lovely Establishment and ideally located for all amenities and would have no hesitation in recommending it, in fact we will be going back again next year for our next trip of this beautiful part of the Country.Well done Arthur you run a great ship!
If anything, the hot water was a bit temperamental especially when filling-up the bowl for the dishes; also the shower wasn't exactly a power shower but served purpose. Don't forget to take your own Bath towels as those supplied just about covered your crown jewels!
This was a good choice for us. Close to lovely sydney park and a little canal walk through it to the art gallery. Yet also close to the centre. Good room with good shower and good bed and linen.
It was at the cheaper end but still bath is expensive
The address was easy to locate and parking was good, we were given a greeting on arrival with a brief talk on local and room facilities, everything looked and smelt clean, clothing, food storage and breakfast making facilities were also acceptable.
The bed was sub-standard and supporting struts collapsed getting out of the bed and when sitting on a corner to dress, one strut was actually broken, one of the breakfast seats in the conservatory leans badly to one side when sat on. We watched the fireworks one evening from the conservatory overlooking Bath Recreation ground but had to clean the windows first. There was no opportunity to leave ‘visitors comments’ maybe a notepad or sheets of paper would assist in allowing guests to give on the spot feedack.
overlooking the Abbey and Bath Rec (hallowed rugby ground) The room was cosy, charming, comfy sofa at end of bed and powerful shower. Bed was excellent. Great for walking into Baths attractions day and night.
the bathroom was a bit small.. the impression of apartment conveyed more than one room .Car park a little tricky to access from the main road
Ideal for a stay next to a lovely city, very clean and comfortable
A lovely apartment with a fantastic view. This was a perfect base for anyone exploring Bath. It's no more than a 5 min walk into town. The room was very nice as was our welcome.
charming old home divided into little apartments. we stayed on the bottom floor so i can't speak as to the rest. it's really just a room with a kitchenette and small bathroom with a shower. i love having a kitchen to prepare our food, this one has just what you need without an iota more, but it was enough. i can't speak highly enough of the kindness and responsiveness of our host who lives on an upper level. we had problems with electricity and hot water during our 2 might stay, but he came immediately to rectify the situation. realize this is a very old (read:historic) property, and things aren't like staying in a new hotel room. a cozy eclectic feel and charm, very quiet despite the bustling outside, private garden with seating and a view of the abbey, free parking... all add up to a bargain being easy walking distance to the city of bath.
problem with electricity and hot water
Location Building Comfy bed and pillows lady was nice and helpful when we arrived
No blind up at bathroom window Shower temp was awful Parking an issue man very rude as our car was blocked in when we came to move it.We left it there until end of day and the man running the house told us off!
Clean comfortable spacious apartment 10 min stroll along beautiful Great Pulteney to town past rugby field and Pulteney Bridge. Brilliant all round place for a base for sightseeing in and around Bath.
The check out time at the hotel was 11am, which is fine. We asked if we could stayed parked at the hotel until 1pm. We were told no, even if the check in time for the new guests was only at 2pm. This is not good service.
luxury and close to bath
Superb location over looking rugby ground 5 mins from city centre.
Slightly cramped in the room, but very well equipped.
The friendliness of the staff on arrival
location parking privacy
Immaculately clean, great facilities including Sky, Dvd and ipod docking station. Great to have free parking and easy walk into town. Very comfy bed and bonus of conservatory as an eating area. Felt very homely. Kitchen well equipped. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.
Shower a little small but the owner advised this is being updated soon. Inevitably some traffic noise (being at the front of the property) but heavy curtains help with this. Minor points though.
