All round good experience,Central location,very clean.friendly staff,v good breakfast.good value for money
We really enjoyed our stay at No. 4. The kitchen facilities were very handy and the bathroom was very good quality - great shower. The bed was very comfortable and it was lovely waking up to a view of an old church.
The parking area across the road was great but difficult to understand payment as the instructions are a bit ambiguous. Nothing to do with Number 4, but would be useful if it could be clarified.
Very clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Ideally situated for access to the town. Free books and DVDs for customer use.
lovely warm welcome
had a room on the busy street side, I would request a back room another time, as late night party goers kept me awake...not my hubby though. We will definitely stay here again :)
staff and facilities were fantastic
No soap in bathroom
manager was happy to wait till 9:30pm for us to arrive and texted accurate directions so we could find him easily. Also wide selection of local eateries and the Filling Station (ground floor) wasn't noisy and did a good lager (me) & a decent glass of wine (wife). Room clean,toilet/shower modern & everything there. Air con useful too as was fridge for the dogs food (packets, don't get paranoid)
Very little, not facing main street, if had been, faint noises of Saturday night town centre revelry may have been an issue after a long day, but they weren't.
The first thing to remark on is the fabulous owner Adrian who is so helpful and accommodating :) The location is perfect for shopping in the market square and the twin room a delight.....comfortable beds, clean, modern look with a great en-suite, sink, microwave and TV. We have stayed here many times and will continue to do so....we travel often to Retford for weekends for a break and couldn't have found a better place than No 4. So glad we found it!
One tiny thing is slight street noise at night ( outside the twin room) mainly folk making their way home from a good night out.......earplugs are effective and therefore its no big deal and certainly would not put us off from staying here again and again
Excellent, clean and comfortable
The room was clean and well appointed and the bed was comfortable.
The tap water tastes terrible but I had bottled water to use for tea. Slightly noisy but I always use earplugs anyway.
Very good bed and linen.
Shower curtain rather than a door . Windows in my room did not open
Very helpful staff, answered all of my queries of parking and room requirements quickly. Very polite and very happy with the room.
Location, convenient to town centre. Secure. View, and windows opening for fresh air. Mainly very quiet.
Noise very late at night after pubs closed. Room too warm.
Run by very friendly people and the bar t groung floor serves fantastic food !!!
window in bedroom door with light shining through was awful
The room was clean, tidy and with all you need for a comfortable nights stay. The restaurant downstairs was very welcoming and the food delicious and well served.
Room number five however was not a room for sleeping in due to the constant noise (very loud) from a restaurant extractor working all night!
Lobes the room, plenty of space. A good welcome ans Gerät breakfast.
Staff were really friendly and helpful! Room was perfect and clean!
Clean and adequate
Noise levels from the street were horrendous. This continued until 2 am. We had to be up by 4.30am. we requested a quiet room!!!!!
Excellent location within Retford - simple to locate. Room was spotless with plenty of tea/coffee/milk etc. Bathroom was pristine with a plentiful supply of quality towels. A lovely 'mini kitchen' area with F/F, M/W, crockery etc. Definitely value-for-money!
The room was clean, comfy and well looked after. The owner/manager was lovely, there was an unavoidable problem with breakfast which he was apologetic for and reduced the cost of the room. Great place to stay :-)
Execellent and good vaule for money.
Couldn't fault this place at all. Spotlessly clean, beds were so comfortable and the bedding was 5star quality. The owner made us feel very welcome and the building was very secure at night.
This was a lovely place to stay and the facilities were superb. We were treated to breakfast in our room by the great staff in the diner.
The location is very central, which is a bonus, but along with it came the inevitable noise associated with late night revellers. This only happened a couple of times and will not prevent us from staying here again.
The cleanliness of the room was impeccable! We were made most welcome with our little dog ! This is our second stay and we will go back time and time again !!
Room at front overlooking the street. Kept awake by street lights and Saturday night revellers.
