Personalen var tjänstvillig och trevlig, i frukostmatsalen var dock språkkunskaperna kanske inte de bästa. Dålig VVS-standard, allt vatten var kokhett en av dagarna. Efter ett par dagar stängdes luftkonditioneringen av, kanske av besparingsskäl. Det blev väldigt kvavt på rummet och man blev tvungen att sova med öppet fönster. Därför stördes man lite av ljuden utanför. |

Personalen var hjälpsamma och trevliga. De gjorde allt för att det skulle bli så bra som möjligt. Det finns inte så mycket faciliteter på hotellet men det ligger å andra sidan i en kulturbyggnad. Sedan är ju standarden brittisk, dock ej på badrummet! |

The comfort of our Room [6] Although I rather think that for this relatively room, the telelvision was rather too large. Otherwise, it all excellent and we certainly come again especially since our daughter will be at the univ. for another four years; that will motivate further bookings! Conrgatulations to Jennine and to David for outstanding sevice! |

The reception & bar staff were welcoming & polite with someone always available. The breakfast was lovely although the breakfast staff were a little manic cleaning up after people which was a bit too much first thing in the morning! This isn't a five star hotel (3+ at best) and aspects of the decor could do with freshening up. Although we were staying in an executive double the bed was two singles pushed together. Although it didn't bother us, to walk to the centre of town it's all uphill so be warned. |

Staff were very efficient and could not have been more helpful, breakfast was excellent, location was excellent, only a short walk from city centre. We had asked for and were given low floor rooms, which were clean. |

Location in the "new town" and the interior decor The facilities were only "fair" for a hotel of this calibre eg. kettle in the room leaked water at the on/off switch and was, therefore, extremely dangerous; breakfast was very mediocre (grilled kipper was a "boil in the bag"!); room allocated - although an upgrade - was in the neighbouring building, necessitating an outside walk for the bar, lounge, breakfast. |

The staff were excellant We were in an annex. We had to put on our coats to go outside to get to bar/breakfast room. The Wardrobe was in the Bathroom. The Roomwas far too hot. There was no mini-bar in the room. If we wanted a drink at three in the morning we would have had to get our coats on and walk in the street to the entranse 20 yards away |

The best bit about the hotel was having a jaccuzi in the bedroom. I wasnt too keen on having to go out side to the reception building to get breakfast. |

We liked the charm, informality, and location slightly off the beaten path. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The bedlinens were nicely fluffed. My room was too small--slightly claustrophobic--but my daughter's jr. suite was perfect. |

We were upgraded and so had a magnificent room with sitting room etc.Staff verypleasant and the position in Edinburgh was good;There was no private parking which was supposed to be available but plenty of space in the street. Too much dark furnishings and gold wallpaper for my taste |

the peace and quiet of the beautiful street. the size of my room no1 it was smaller than an average single yet classified as a double. no kettle no iron.very dusty tv cable. tv far too big for the room and impossible to watch comfortably due to weired angle. had to ask for a kettle and boil it on the floor due to very short lead. |
