Great room spotlessly clean with fantastic facilities and comfort a real credit to the owners. The victorian bath in the room was a great feature which i used twice on my overnight stay. The breakfast was very good and cooked well with happy welcoming service, the decore throughout the guest house is lovely and from someone who never uses guest houses because of bad experiences only hotels this was a real restorer in my faith of such establishments, try this place yourself. lovely.

I felt the superior double room very clean and well presented. I felt that the superior double room bathing area needs a little improvement to be classed as a superior. Also some of the television channels did not work on the freeview.

Nice tidy hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast was nice with a varied menu. Only downside breakfast a bit early finish but not a criticism. Car park a bit small and access narrow.

My wife and I stayed here as a place simply to stop as we were visiting relatives who lived in the town. Wilth that premise the guest house was warm, comfortable, well located and quiet (despite itas central location. We lloved the victorian facade and archetecture of the home and surrounding area as well. We have no doubt we would highly recommend this guest house. No problems at all. If there is just one caviat, it is simply that we did not stay around the guest house very long. However, during the time we were there, no problems as all.

Very friendly welcome and a nice quiet area. Disappointed that the kitchen was being refurbished and breakfast was not available, would liked to have sampled the menu.

I liked Oakover Guest House as it was easy to get to and had onsite parking. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and very comfortable and well equipt with tea/coffee making facilities and even a small fridge. Good access to local amenities with main line train station a short walk away and local shops, restaurants and beach near by.

Very comfortable, clean, spacious. Nice breakfast. Tight squeeze to get in and out of the car park. Maybe this should be publicised better. The tv reception was patchy. The toilet seat (in room 1) wouldn't stay up on its own! The toast arrived well before the cooked breakfast and I prefer it at the same time or afterwards- perhaps I should have said. These are very minor criticisms. I enjoyed my stay. Thanks

Friendly owners with cup of tea on arrival, great as it was pouring down outside. Spacious rooms and all other areas give a pleasant light feel. Breakfast part self service and very hearty. Smoked bacon particularly good. Lounge area ok but could be made to be a bit more inviting, decor bland.

The guest house was very clean and the rooms were contemporary and modern, bathroom very spacious with a lovely jacuzzi bath. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly. Only two draw backs, the bed could have been more comfortable (mattress not very good quality) and the access to the small car park at the back was very tight (scraped the car getting it out!) but this was pointed out by the guest house owner on her description on the website. So really can't complain. Would most definately stay again but bring a much smaller vehicle.
