Very nice appartment. Very clean and had all the necessities needed for a week's stay. Quite spacious. The owner was very 'uptight'. We were 'told off' for making her tea towel dirty as she would 'not be able to get the stains out'. We were even told off for putting a plastic bag with a few bags of crisps in it hanging on the handle of a cupboard door as it could 'strain the handle and might break it'. Also, when she came in to change the sheets, we were asked if the mark on the carpet was a stain .... it was the pile of the carpet which had 'brushed up' the other way so no it was not a stain. Overall it was a bit of a stress that we could do without and would not visit again.

Central location When the heating is under lock and key and timed intermittently to save money and the hand wash and washing up liquid have been watered down there is something wrong! Landlady not very welcoming just gave out long list of dos and don'ts and didn't appear very child friendly. All this makes Oakdene a summertime crash pad only as the space is very limited and the kitchen small and poorly equiped.(all knives blunt --no potato peeler e.t.c.) At £100 a night it isn't cheap but the owner was moaning as to how little she was making from the business.

Spacious clean a little dated. Landlady over powering and needs to develop a sense that when her presence is no longer required she shuts up and goes away! Central location Good valuefor money

The apartment is close to the centre of Windermere town, and about a mile from the lake. It is comfortably furnished and good value for money. Apartments that you can rent by the day are rare, so this is useful. The owner is a very nice lady, in the style of an old-fashioned B&B owner. No real bad points, certainly none that outweigh the good points, though the wifi did keep disconnecting for some reason.

It was self contained with plenty of space for 4 adults. It was in a quiet area, very easy to get to and easy access to many attractions. We had all the comforts of a hotle without been confined to one room.

The apartment is close to the train station. This apartment was the smallest two bedroom apartment I have ever seen. The living/dining space barely fit our family of four (two children aged 9 and 8 don't take up that much space). The wifi is incredibly slow and the free recreational centre is too far away to walk.

Well located to town of Windemere and its tourist attractions. The main bedroom small and with excess furniture in it. Difficult to get cases into the room with the small gap between the bed end and wall. The lighting (automatic sensor) tended to be a nusience coming on and off everytime someone passed through the sensor. The second bedroom easier to move around.

Short stay apartment made a more convenient base than a hotel for 4 people participating in separate activities. Centre-town location, although convenient, was a bit disconnected from the beautiful surrounding countryside.

It is a home away from home. Beautifully kept apartment. Loved the stay. I stayed for 1 night but it was worth the amount. Just relax, cook, watch some movies on the dvd, stroll. The kitchen was well equipped The check out time is too early at 10 am. It should be atleast till 11 so that people can have some time after breakfast to pack and leave

Convenient for all Lakeland locations. Easy to walk to great places to eat. Friendly welcome when booking in. Personally would have liked better views, but location was convenient. Apartment was clean and well equiped but a bit tight on space with two teenage boys.

They have a good living room, quite comfort and clean. Despite of many heating in the living room, it still was cold. I paid extra change 3% because i used a Master Card as she said she must pay extra because of the Master card. It is not fair in my opinion because it didn't shows any information before i was booking the hotel.

“The staff were really helpful and very friendly, they made us feel really welcome. We booked the evening meal and it was delicious, all four of us were really impressed. The meal was excellent quality, which was reflected in the price. The hotel was really close to the shops which was handy for us. Would definitely book the hotel again, really good experience. ” Kellyann, Burnley |
