The Westminster Hotel overlooks the picturesque Pavillion Gardens in central Buxton. It offers charming, family-run accommodation, and many rooms have views of the park and lake.
Score from 456 reviews Very good
the bed was amazingly comfy and the view was fabulous!
Breakfast was very watery, i had to put a napkin in my scrambled egg to sock up some of the excess other than that it was okay.
Not much to be honest
Ladybirds all around room day and night.Lack of sympathy off proprietor Noisy bed Noisy floor
Breakfast. It was in a bright dining room with wonderful views across the rolling hills and beautiful countryside.
Cleanliness and Character of Property with high spec facilities. Warm and well decorated property. Would be a delight in the summer months as the surroundings nearby are excellent.
The size of the room
lovely old house in a very convenient location. Met by very friendly lady. Room had a great view and good breakfast .
Charming house, 5 minute walk from village centre - excellent ammenities, decent breakfast and very good service
nothing at all - all fine
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oakfield Lodge. It is in a good location and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Definitely would go there again in we were in the area.
The B & B is in a very picturesque area, great for walking. There are many pubs and restaurants nearby for evening meals etc. If you fancy shopping the train into Manchester does not take long and you would find everything you need there. Finally the B & B itself is a beautiful Victorian building, with many original features.
Beautiful house; good cooked breakfasts.
Television didn't work too well. Heating in the morning was a bit erratic; the pillows were tired and we would have liked bigger towels and more of them.
Location, near family and station. Good value for the money we paid. Would use again.
Nothing really as it exceeded our expectations for what we paid. Staff perhaps could be more forthcoming, but were helpful when asked for information.
Every thing we will b back
Poor mattress, cheap worn out bedding. Mean breakfast
Lovely people. I was leaving early so was offered a bacon & egg butty that was left in silver foil with my name labelled on it, in the entrance hall. a short stride to several good pubs and eating houses at Marple Bridge. (Near the railway station too).
It was all good!
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and fairly comfortable acommodation.
Tight for car parking and disabled facilities, would be nice if there could be a lift and a little updating without losing the homeliness.
The views, original woodwork & spaciousness.
The accommodation was very comfortable and suited our purpose very well.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike about the location, service or suitability for our purpose of visiting family nearby.
excellent breakfast, helpful staff
Unusual sort of place, had a basement room but it was very nice with views of the garden. Free car parking and Wi Fi and a good breakfast. Just a few minutes walk from Marple station.
Walls very thin, could hear other rooms clearly. Doorbell ringing at 11pm and again very early in the morning.
I liked the friendliness of the staff. nothing was too much trouble. The views from the windows are gorgeous, just valley and trees with the odd house!
A very comfortable stay. Interesting house, good breakfast
The lady was very helpfull and friendly
The breakfast was very poor , the one piece of bacon very thin and been cook very hard the beans ,mushrooms were cold we ask for more toast still waiting and we only got one pot of tea , did not ask us would we like more also the shower was look warm , over all very poor stay . the male did not have any eye contact at all ,very very unfriendly .
A homely welcome from owner and Bedlington Terrier "Cindy". Room was excellent single at side of the house.Room was fragrant and nicely appointed.Breakfast was enormous and varied, in a cosy dining room. An unexpected bonus was the arrival in the evening of a fox and family just below my window, followed by three badgers, to partake of supper, supplied by the owner. My grandchildren were entranced and my room became photo central for twenty minutes as the animals every movements were recorded on cameras and phones. A great start to our lovely family christening weekend in Whaley Bridge.
Lorraine, the owner is lovely, a choice of rooms given. Spectacular old building. Great breakfast, plentiful, well cooked. An absolute bargain. Definitely will return.
