Couldn't have the window open during the night because the fire escape ran past the window.
Easy access into Grimsby.
Lone female on business trip. Staff were very helpful and approachable. Room service was excellent and so was the food.
A minor observation lighting in our room it was rather bright or very dark ,subdued lighting would be better, no in-between, bedside lamps would be better, we were in room 40 ground floor
Again ,Staff, very helpful ,friendly, knowledgeable about the menu,
staff very cheerful and friendly . Nothing too much trouble. Food was amazing in the restaurant.
room key take in error.phoned from home to apologise. At first wanted me to drive back with it said no spare. agreed in end for me to post as they would change lock.ODD!
comfortable room good food.bedr
Only one packet of complimentary biscuits for a family of three
Big comfy bed
Breakfast , expensive for what was provided . Lack of coffee .
The location , the main building , the room , the staff .
No heating in the room on arrival. Bathroom towel radiator did not work at all.
Attended a works Christmas Party. We were indeed needing a Coffee the following morning but found the Coffee tray to contain two used cups, I assume from the the previous occupants and no Coffee sachets. This did not ruin our visit but a little disappointing. Having said that mistakes happen and the Hotel is worth a visit if you are in the area
Good Staff, Good Location and Good Value. Excellent Beds, very comfortable.
Some of the wedding guests decided to have a party of there own with loud music right opposite our room. They were shouting and arguing almost turning into a fight at one stage, this went on to well past 3.00am in the morning. We complained in the morning but we're told that's what happens when you mix drink and relatives together, not happy especially when we had 300mls to drive back home with very little sleep!.
Good location, impressive building standing in lovely surroundings. Excelent food, pleasant staff.
Just one night stay at the Oaklands, everything just right good food, staff excellent, super room.
Bit too busy too many 'functions' in public areas. Over stretched staff. The pillows were really hard ! Like blue circle cement bags!
Staff Wine Food Comfy bed
Price difference I had similar room to others but paid £4 more. Getting a cup of tea at breakfast was terrible and tea was worse.
The location. Wedding attendance so everything you could need.
Restaurant far to pretentious and expensive for a 3 star hotel catering to mainly commercial business.
Comfortable Rooms Clean good parking
My particular room (room 9) didn't have great sound insulation. There was noise as people passed in the corridor, noise from the bins by the window and sound transmission from adjacent rooms. Dinner is more geared up for fine dining (nice menu, tasty food but roughly 1.5 hour turnaround time), would be great if there was a separate area for a simple & speedy menu targetted towards weary business travellers.
Breakfast - runs very smoothly. Good service and quality, tasty produce. Good WiFi coverage. Nice setting and high standard of cleanliness.
Food was over priced and too little of a portion and the beds were very uncomfortable
We were aware that functions are held regularly, particularly on weekends, a little noisy but not too bad, I did actually expect that the room would have been in period style, as with the rest of the hotel, but our room was in the newer part, did have have the same ambience, but overall a lovely property.
Loved your hotel, first impressions on driving into the property was wow. It was a special place to stay.
Noisy at night and in the morning as guests come and go
Good restaurant Comfortable room
Waiters could check re update of coffee at breakfast and keep the breakfast buffet updated.
Being put in a disabled bedroom without being given the option. Lights a bit dim for reading.
Nice fluffy towels. Nice grounds.
In my opinion this was quite an expensive hotel in comparison to others I have used.
Location - quiet. Room also quiet... I was able to do some work there.
This is the second time we have stayed here. We have stayed in the annex and main hotel. The rooms are spotless ,warm and comfortable. The staff are always helpful and polite . Nothing is too much trouble. It was also one of the best meals we have had in a long time.
