It's in a beautiful, countryside setting, which makes it scenic and peaceful. The location is ideal for visiting my family closeby, and it actually turns out to be the best for value when compared with nearby B&Bs. I've stayed before, so knew the room would be a good size for relaxing and for it being quiet (I was travelling with my young son, who can be quite noisy at times)! I also knew that the service would be great, including the reception and breakfast. It's also nice to be able to eat/drink on site if need be.

We thought the staff & food where excellent at the hotel, the only small fault we found was that the room got a tad cold at night and the quilt only just reached over the bed, Aprt from that all very good as its our 2nd visit there. Thanks to all the staff. As stated, bigger quilt on the bed would hav been betteras it only just reached the sides when we were in it....

As a solo female traveller the feeling of security was very important to me. Pillows were uncomfortable (small & lumpy)

See comments below Nice hotel spoilt by the poor staff both on reception and in the bar, ordered a bar meal and the 2 staff spent most of the time talking and even shouting at each other, food was very good and I had to ask them to clear my plate after they both walked past me a couple of times

the hotel was lovely and has lots of charm. The room was very clean as were all areas of the hotel.Breakfast was good and staff were attentive. There were two weddings on during our stay but overall the noise level was acceptable. We would definitely stay there again but may be midweek when there is not a wedding on as it would be more relaxing. We enjoyed our stay. The only criticism would be that the room and corridors were very hot (it was a warm day) and we did not discover the fan stored in the wardrobe. However if we had asked i am sure the staff would have advised us of that.

Most things, especially the bar which is a quiet and peaceful place to eat, have a drink and read the newspaper (many of the other hotels that I use have sports television in the bar which is both noisy and distracting). WiFi, although I can identify a residents wireless connection on your hub I have never been able to establish a reliable connection through it (I have probably stayed at the Oaklands Hotel on at least 8 separate occasions over the last year).

Beautiful surroundings well kept gardens and outside seating areas. All staff were very young and seemed to be having private jokes at all times. They seemed nervous serving food and drink and made quite a few spills and mistakes. Felt that somebody a little older needed to be watching over them and keeping a higher standard of service. Also when I booked my stay over the internet I didn't get the option of saying I was staying with the wedding party so paid a little more than family and friends staying over.

All of it! We have been staying at this hotel for a number of years now and would never think of staying anywhere else in the area. The hotel, dining room and rooms are clean, comfortable and well presented, staff are professional and friendly, the quiet location of the hotel provides a very relaxing environment. Overall extremely good value for money.
