Great Location Ample Parking Staff were great Shower was very good Free Water in room Iron and Ironing Board in room
Room Very very dated Wall was damp in room Window didnt shut properly Wifi didnt work Bar expensive Bed uncomfortable
It was an interesting historical building that retians some of teh old features and has an interesting stained window at the top of the beautifull main staircase. There was a history published for guests to read.
Too many stairs and no lift. To get to my room I had to go up and down several flights of stairs. This is because it is an old bulding with extensions. There is no lift. However staff do help get baggage to rooms and show guests back routes that avoid a lot of the stairs.
Dated dirty room
The lamb on the menu was spot on, excellent. Car arking is right by the door even at busy periods. Friendly staff, the receptionist even remembered my room number when I locked myself out of my room, she didn't need to access the computer, what a memory. Fast, traditional breakfast, excellent quality. Nice powerful shower. Fantastic stained glass windows and carvings.
No lift and a long walk to my room with several lots of small flights of stairs, but I'm able bodied and still young (55). I'm sure that if I had any difficulty the staff would have either helped or allocated a closer ground floor room. That is the only thing I didn't like, otherwise it's a really top notch place.
Friendly staff; receptionists very welcoming and helpful. Hotel has nice atmosphere. Comfortable room at extremely good price. Use of spa area with pool, jacuzzis, sauna. We stay here 3 - 4 times a year and have always enjoyed our visits.
The Staff were outstanding went out of there way to provide some food as we arrived after the kitchen was closed
Stunning building, loved the layout - lots of wrong turns to explore!!
Nothing near by. That's a shame as a lovely hotel n helpful welcoming staff.
Fantastic staff, fabulous service, in-house gym and fitness suite. Great value for money.
Swimming pool was nicely lit. Bed linen excellent. Breakfast was good, esp. the sausages
Being kept awake by loud music from event down the corridor. Being woken by two intruders into our room at 1.30am that I had to chase out.
Loved the staff, the location was excellent for exploring the area. Good choice of relaxing areas, great garden out the front, lovely pool/jacuzzi etc. Food was good too.
Did not like having my breakfast serve to me, much prefer buffet style, but that really is personal choice rather than a negative!
The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets not clean. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom had peeling paint and mildew spots on the ceiling. At breakfast I asked for the full English no hash brown or black pudding and for the egg to be cooked through. The breakfast came WITH the hash brown and black pudding and my egg was only partially cooked. I could have stayed in a B&B for less money and a better experience.
The room was nice and spacious, facilities great with the pool and Jacuzzi. The Friday night price of £56 was excellent value
The wifi didn't work for us but no big deal. Walking to your rooms could be a killer for some.
Not as photographed Extremely tired and dated looking room No wifi offered Hard beds Two single beds pushed together, not an actual double
Staff were very friendly, rooms clean and comfy, if a little dated. Breakfast was good.
Dinner, Tomato and Basil soup was actually tomato and tarragon. Steak and chips main course was odd. The Steak was perfectly cooked, good quality and tasty. However the Hand cut chips were actually aunt bessies style potato wedges, and they weren't even cooked properly. Half of them were raw. As were the Onion rings. Making chips seems to be beyond the cooks, which is a shame as the bits they got right were very good.
Room was spacious and comfortable, excellent pool, nice gardens, fantastic parking, good food, beautiful hotel.
Nothing we dident like every thing was perfect
My room was on the ground floor next to the gym. It was very noisy late at night and early in the morning
We thought the hotel was very pleasant and good value for money. The room was very clean and lovely. The shower and bathroom facilities were also very nice. The bed was lovely and comfortable. We liked the furniture in the main part of the hotel and the grand staircase was magnificent. We also had a lovely cooked breakfast.
There was a wedding going on so we could hear music being played into the night and it was a but noisy but we didn't mind in the circumstances
We stayed one night and found this hotel wonderful the staff are really lovely and all make you very welcome and can't do enough to make your stay just right room was lovely and food excellent will deffo be staying there again soon
Nothing we dident like every thing was perfect
Loved room and breakfast. They took our luggage both check in and out days
Heat in room although a fan was provided with free water
Booked as a girls weekend away for the 80's theme night. Great night for all ages, group age range was from 22yrs old - 60yrs old and we all enjoyed it. Best part was the pool facilities, great relaxing afternoon. Great value for money, looking to go back for a weekend away with my partner
Nothing stood out for me not to like
Good hotel very comfy and good facilities.
Area where hotel stands is not the best.
Comfortable bed, lavender spray, good food.
Breakfast could do with being a bit more organised - no clear tables free and dirty dishes left on all tables.
Hotel to hot & stuffy, not enough ventilation.
The gym was OK. Breakfast was decent.
Lunch service in the bar was very slow and in the end I was served mouldy bread. Bed was uncomfortable - could feel mattress springs. Decor was very dated WiFi reception was slow and intermittently cut out.
